OOC: Well, I'd say you do better late at night than I do. It looks really awesome, and this is going to be fun what with Skinny the older brother...Thanks for posting you guys.
OOC: That's okay, it's what I did too. Looks good, but continue on so you can meet up with Tera Roth in the JAC...Like we did last time. Um, I PMed you some name suggestions which you don't have to take, but remember that you'll be talking to your character in the UO, so it might get confusing otherwise. :) I actually like your story post better than mine, FYI. Good work!
Xardius' grin widened. "Oh, yes, I see him..." Racing up the slope, Xardius leaped upwards, landing on the very edge of the eagle's nest. "Tul Raijin, what are you doing?" Xardius said, his face almost maniacal as lightning tinted his eyes bright yellow.
OOC: Yeah, if you would. I PMed you the details, and some tips for your character.
OOC: It's up and link is in my sig. I have FHE tonight, so I probably won't post for a while. Please sign up anyway, as you get on. Thanks a bunch.
Osidia is a world out of legend. Long proclaimed as the world of glory, it has spawned heroes for ages, heroes that have done mighty things in the name of light and justice. Beyond that, its cerulean skies and peaceful lands were home to many creatures. Osidia was nature incarnate. Then darkness entered the worlds, and everything changed. Osidia became lost to the ensuing chaos, and through the ages, became lost from memory as well. However, not all memory of it was lost. Deep within the massive world of Libary, a planet dominated by scholars and researchers devoted to understanding and, in some cases, living every aspect of knowledge, Osidia’s secrets remain hidden... Until one fateful day, a young scholar and the newest member of the Ruling Council, known as the Prophets of Truth, uncovered its mysteries. Now, Libary will stop at nothing to uncover its secrets. On the remote world of Genesis, word reaches the ears of the populace that a reward has been offered for anyone who can find the world of legend. You are one of these courageous seekers of Osidia. You will travel from world to world, seeking the lost truths of this forgotten world, and in the course of events, change destiny itself... This is the Quest for the Obsidian Skies. Welcome to Obsidian Sky! Before we start, be sure to read everything below, or you’ll probably get lost. Don’t be dismayed by this large post however; this RP isn’t designed to be for die-hard Rpers, though it can accommodate them. J This RP is a little different from other RPs. Think of Obsidian Sky as a forum-based RPG computer game, and you’ll probably understand the RP a lot better. First off are the rules: 1. Entering this RP means that you’ll follow the RP. No running off to do whatever you feel like. If you feel like you can contribute, PM me about it, and I’ll definitely consider putting it in, and will let you know if I think it is a viable option (viable meaning doable.) 2. Be courteous. I don’t have much tolerance for people who can’t carry on a mature conversation with someone. 3. I don’t mind swearing, so long as it’s not excessive. If I think you’re using too rough of language, I’ll probably PM you and ask you to tone it down a bit. 4. If we’ve already started, but you’d like to join, please PM me about it. Thanks a lot. Now, I’ll explain how to run this RP. This RP is mission-based, meaning that you will have to fulfill certain goals to move on in the storyline. There are also tons of side missions you can complete to gain cool items, lots of cash, and EXP (which I’ll explain later.) Often, but not always, you will have to fight. Fighting in this RP is different from others in the fact that you’ll have statistics that you’ll need to keep track of. #1: HP – HP is probably the most important of the stats, as it is what will allow you to participate in the RP. You lose HP through taking damage from attacks, and gain through healing by either magic, items, or just resting overnight. Starting a new mission does not necessarily mean you will have full HP, but I will notify you if this does happen. If you run out of HP, you will be KO, or knocked out. This means you won’t be able to participate in any battles for the rest of the mission, and you will be “dead weight” otherwise. However, you can be “revived” through the use of magic, items, or resting overnight, so it shouldn’t be too big of a deal. If everyone in the party reaches 0 HP, unlike other RPG games, you won’t get a game over. You’ll be “saved” by reinforcements or some other guy, and your party will be revived to 1 HP. #2: MP – MP is what enables you to use magic. If you run out of MP, you can’t use magic. Magic usually doesn’t cost very much MP, and using magic is more often than not stronger than simply attacking. #3: Attack – Attack is the amount of power you have behind your physical attacks. I’ll explain how to figure damage from this statistic later in the battle section. #4: Defense – Defense is how well you are able to withstand blows from your opponent. Your opponent’s damage will be decreased the greater your defense is. Explained later. #5: Magic – Magic is how much strength you have behind your magical attacks. #6: Magic Defense – Magic Defense is how well you can withstand magical attacks. Now to use these stats in battle: Rules for Battle: #1. Take your turn. Characters will go in the order they joined the RP, which means I’ll always go first. Enemies will normally go after every Rper has done his/her turn. #2. If you are KO, don’t post again until the battle is over please. #3. You can use one item per turn, and still be able to use magic or attack physically. How to figure Damage: ((Attack + Defense) – (Defense of opponent – Attack of opponent) x2) = Damage OR ((Magic + Magic Defense) – (Magic Defense of opponent – Magic of opponent) x2) = Damage As you can see, it’s not that tough, though it can be hard to remember. Leveling Up: After every battle, you will gain EXP. EXP allows you to gain more power. You’ll level up normally throughout the RP, so don’t worry too much about it. You’ll reach a maximum level of 50. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Now, to finish things off, I’d like everyone to please post at the bottom of their posts this information: HP, MP, Level and Stats, and current EXP. This is simply for reminder’s sakes, so you don’t forget. If you can remember without posting at the bottom of your screen, that’s fine, but if you forget, I won’t be keeping too close of track. So, I guess this is optional. Phew, that was a long post. The rest of it will simply be the beginning of the RP, which immediately following you can sign up. Thanks a lot for reading this all the way through! However, the rays of warmth continued on, traveling along the dust motes to finally rest on Tera Roth’s quivering eyelids. Conveniently, Tera Roth woke up sneezing. “Augh, gezundheit,” Tera Roth muttered nasally. Grabbing a tissue from the beautifully handcrafted table, Tera Roth preceded to waste 15 seconds of otherwise useful air time to blow his congested nose clear of all the guts it had accumulated during the night. Staring at the horrendous mess, pooled in somewhat large goopy chunks, Tera Roth exclaimed, “Green again! More dirt, less play. Maybe then my mornings will start being brown again.” Clambering out of the grungy bed that looked like one of the native wildcats had been in it, Tera Roth went through his morning routine of showering for exactly 3 minutes longer than he should, scarfing his plain Crispy Rice with milk to make up for it, and brushing his teeth slowly while trying not to fall asleep. Today he actually managed to get his uniform on before Tyre Rutherford knocked on the door. “Come in, blueberry,” Tera Roth said, buckling on the simple sword to the back of his waist. Tyre slowly opened the thick oak door. “Blueberry is not a good nickname,” Tyre said, hiding a smile at Tera Roth’s dopey expression. “Hey, you’re dressed today! Great, we can get going.” Tera Roth straightened, popping every socket in his back as he stretched. 6’0”, average build, light brown hair, hazel-gold eyes, strong, good at sports. Adept at most forms of hand-to-hand combat, especially skilled in swordplay. Rank: Captain. Distinguishing features: He looks like an idiot when he’s not being serious, which is most of the time. “Hey, blueberry, what’s the assignment?” Tera Roth asked, while vainly attempting to crack his knuckles. Tyre frowned. “Tyre, pronounced Tear, not blueberry.” Tyre Rutherford – 5’9”, slim build, smart, but horrible at everything to do with combat. Rank: Lieutenant. Distinguishing features: Extremely blue eyes, black hair, and likes wearing blue. Hence the nickname. “Whatever,” Tera Roth grumbled, before both his index fingers snapped loudly. “Yowch!” Tyre shook his head. “A group of C-Class Heartless are on the move outside the city. We’ve already sent a team in to evacuate the citizens in that area, but they might have missed some. We’re being sent in to mop up the Heartless, and protect any citizens in the area. The city’s Anchor, and we’re being dropped off about a mile out, towards the incoming Heartless advance. We’re also being assigned with Highwind.” “Anchor…That’s got lots of dirt there, right?” Tera Roth mumbled around his fingers. Tyre’s brow furrowed. “Well, yeah, it’s desert, but why…?” “Heartless! Dirt! My lucky day!” Tera Roth bellowed. “Let’s get gone!” Barreling past a thoroughly confused Tyre, Tera Roth twisted and ran down the hallway laughing maniacally. “But, why dirt?” Tyre asked himself slowly, before following. *** The dual-bladed TT (troop-transport) helicopter roared over the small gulley, heading for the drop point, the copilot and pilot both straining to see the first signs of the Heartless. Back in the padded seats, Tyre sat staring at Tera Roth, still uncertain why exactly he wanted dirt, while Tera Roth simply bounced up and down ecstatically while making engine “Vroom” noises. Highwind rubbed his temples, and wondered for about the 1600th time why Tera Roth was his best friend. Highwind – 6’6”, slim build, gray eyes, pale skin. Exceptionally skilled in pretty much everything, but a sheer genius when it comes to battle. Rank: Captain, but probably not for long; probably be promoted soon to General because a previous one just died in combat. Distinguishing features: Long black hair, long sword, eyes turn red when fights all-out. Tera Roth’s glazed eyes suddenly snapped back to reality, and he stepped to the open bay door, staring down at the ground. Highwind continued rubbing his temples. “What is it now, Tera, a rabbit?” “Funny,” Tera Roth said. “No, it’s just…a really large black shadow-thing chasing a screaming woman…” “Huh?” Highwind said, staring at Tera Roth. “Heartless,” Tera Roth translated, before twisting around and jumping out, saluting as he did so and flipping backwards down towards the ground. Highwind was at the bay door in an instant. “Moron,” he muttered. “Uh, sir?” the pilot asked unsteadily. “Continue to the drop-off point, he’ll be fine,” Highwind said, sitting back down, thinking at the same time, Don’t kill yourself, Tera. “But…why dirt?” Tyre asked. *** Heartless. Denizens of darkness. They survive by preying upon the source of enegy for humans, otherwise known as their hearts. Once a person’s heart is gone…so are they. In fact, they turn into Heartless themselves…trying to find more hearts to survive. Nobodies. Demons of the earth and sky, born from the joining of a soul and body when a human has lost their heart. They survive by sheer will power but have no emotion, no conscience, and are brutal in their attempts to gain a heart, any heart, for them to be whole again. The Soul Knights. We are the elite. We fight the Heartless, and destroy them, releasing their stolen hearts to Kingdom Hearts, the mother of all worlds and the shield against chaos. We obliterate the Nobodies, crushing them into dust, returning them to the nothingness of twilight from whence they came. Our holy weapons, the Keyblades, and their forms, help us in our endeavors to crush the Heartless and Nobodies once and for all. We are led by the Tetras Five, the leaders of the Central Government. It’s more than job. It’s our duty. *** The woman screamed as the C-Class Heartless, a miniature version of a modern-day Godzilla, reared its head back to strike and eat her helpless heart. Her eyes squeezed shut as she waited for the final blow. Instead, a bombardment of air and the unholy scream of a dying Heartless filled her senses, and she opened her eyes to see Tera Roth twist from his dive bomb slash into the Heartless’ skull to intercept the blow of the second of the trio of shadow beings. Tera Roth grinned. “You wimps have no chance against me,” he stated, staring into the cold yellow eyes of his prey. His sword ground against the hand of the Heartless, then ripped through, traveling up the arm of the Heartless and ripping it off. Roaring in pain, the Heartless reared back. Tera Roth charged straight in as the third and final Heartless joined its brother… BATTLE INSTIGATED! Tera Roth – Stats: Unknown HP: 100 MP: 10 C-Class Heartless – Stats: Unknown HP: 50 and 75 MP: 10 each Tera Roth swept his sword in a salute. “I don’t have time to play with simple scouts, if you bozos are even that intelligent,” Tera Roth grinned. Sweeping his sword forward, he ripped into the wounded Heartless’ skull. Damage: 50! The Heartless shattered. Its brother slammed its arm forward. Damage: 10! Tera Roth shook the blow off. “That all you got? Bring it!” Tera Roth roared as he sliced his sword down, ripping the Heartless from shoulder to hip. Damage: 50! The Heartless bellowed, twisting and smacking Tera Roth with its tail. Damage: 10! Tera Roth rubbed his ribs where the Heartless had smashed him. “I think you bruised a rib, moron!” he roared. “You’ll pay for that! HI-YA!” Diving forward, Tera Roth drove his sword into the gaping mouth of the Heartless, obliterating it. END OF BATTLE! EXP Awarded: None “Ha, piece of cake!” Tera Roth said, looking around for the woman. He found her huddled behind a rock. “You all right?” “Y-Yes, but…I’m so sorry…I didn’t want to leave my home…I was just too scared…” the woman blubbered. Tera Roth sighed. “I know how you feel, miss, but when Heartless are around, you don’t really have a choice in the matter. You were lucky that I saw you being chased, else you would have been piecemeal by the time we arrived.” The woman nodded, sobbing. “I-I know…I-I’m s-sorry…” Her eyes suddenly widened and she screamed. “Look out!” Tera Roth twisted as a white blur streaked at his head. Instinct saved him as his sword leaped up to block the incoming blow, managing to deflect it into the ground. “Stay back!” he yelled. “I’ll take care of this!” Sneering at him was a Nobody. Tera Roth yanked out his cell phone as he sprinted to the right, dodging two more blows from the Nobody. “I’ve got a Nobody here!” Tera Roth yelled into the phone, leaping over the shapeshifting Nobody’s rock-shattering kick. “Requesting immediate assistance!” Silence met him. “Don’t do this to me!” Tera Roth roared, snapping his cell phone shut. “I’m not ready for this!” A slice appeared out of nowhere, and Tera Roth barely blocked it with his sword as it drove him back into a rock wall, shattering it behind him. The Nobody paused, its eyes glinting in the sunlight, waiting for the dust to clear. Instead, it got the business end of the sword slashing down, ripping through its shoulder and nearly cutting its arm off. “Huh, looks like I missed,” Tera Roth said. “Instigate battle mode.” BATTLE INSTIGATED! Nobody strike! Tera Roth caught the blow bare-handed. “You made me mad, punk.” 0 Damage! Crushing the spear formed from one of the Nobody’s hands, he leaped forward, his sword ripping into the Nobody’s chin and driving straight up its face. 100 Damage! END OF BATTLE! EXP Awarded: 0. Tera Roth stared at the disintegrating Nobody. “Where’d that power come from?” he muttered to himself. “Now I don’t feel good…” A crunch of rock behind him made him turn his golden eyes back. He froze, and sweat slowly streaked down his cheek. Two sneering Nobodies stared back at him. “Wh-What is this?” Tera Roth stammered. “B-Class?” One of the Nobodies raised a long arm, shifting it into a goliath-sized broadsword. I can’t even move, Tera Roth thought to himself as he watched, as if in slow motion, the sword slicing downwards. They’ve got me in some sort of paralysis just from their energy output. I don’t have enough even to break free. The sword filled his eyes. I’m dead. The next instant, a red blur and a steel swing interrupted his thoughts. Tera Roth, suddenly free, twisted and stared at the giant of a man before him. Crimson armor, flaming hair, cerulean eyes, disgusted look… “Tera Roth,” the man said, holding his giant sword which had intercepted the blow in one hand. “If you’re not strong enough, get out of here.” “Wh-who are you?” Tera Roth said. “I’ll tell you when I kill these two,” the man said, turning back to the B-Class Nobodies. “Highwind, get him out of here.” Highwind grabbed Tera Roth’s arm, and half-dragged a bewildered Roth off the field, motioning to the woman with the other hand. The woman sprinted after them, and Highwind grabbed one of her arms, helping her run over the rocky ground. “What?” Tera Roth said. “Where’d you guys come from?” “The drop point,” Highwind said. “Darius was already there.” “Was that who that guy was?” Tera Roth asked, pointing back at the no longer visible form of the man who had saved his life. “Yes,” Highwind said. “And he’d already destroyed all the Heartless. We heard your phone call and Darius ran over.” “All of them by himself? They must have been F-Class…Sure he’ll be all right?” Tera Roth asked. An explosion made Tera Roth trip, but the more able Highwind kept his balance as the woman clung to him. “Don’t worry, miss, Darius won’t let anything past,” Highwind said. “And they were all C and D-Class, Tera.” “Huh?” Tera Roth said, picking his face out of the dirt. “Really?” “I never told you how I joined the Soul Knights, did I?” Highwind said, setting the woman down behind a rock. “This should be far enough.” Tera Roth shook his head. “What does that have to do with anything?” “Darius was the main reason,” Highwind said, pulling out a handkerchief and handing it to the woman, who whispered thank you. *** I was a vagabond, a real rogue, beating up everyone and everything in the name of so-called justice for my family’s poor life and my even worse upbringing. My father was a drunk, my sister had been killed in a turf war, and my mother had left us long ago. I was a teenager, mad…and strong. I pulled together a gang of my own, and trashed the joint so to speak. Then one day, we got a visit from a Soul Knight named Patrick Stewart. Now, Patrick is no spring picnic and he took out everyone but me, of course. I took him down, basically due to the fact that he’d used too much energy while fighting my thugs, but as I was about to administer the finishing blow, it was intercepted…a lot like yours was. And by who? Darius, of course. I was furious, but Darius coolly used a move called, “Burning Vengeance,” which is basically a backhand slash that rips a tremendous amount of energy into the opponent. In one move, I was on my back. But Darius ignored me, and instead simply asked Patrick how he could have lost to someone so weak. This of course just infuriated me. I got to my feet and attacked him, giving him everything I had. Darius blocked every single blow without giving an inch. I was getting tired, so I decided to use my finishing blow, the Biting Dragon Flash. Darius caught it bare-handed and hit me with the flat of his blade, then knocked me out cold with his own Biting Dragon Flash. I woke up in the hospital to Patrick’s smiling face, and he asked me to join the Soul Knights. I joined, at first because I wanted a rematch, but my real reason to want to save everyone kind of got absorbed into me, and now I look at Darius more as a role model than anything else. *** “So he’s strong,” Tera Roth said, as if there were still some doubt left. “You could say that,” Darius said, walking around the rock. “They’re dead.” “What took you so long?” Highwind asked. “I saw a flower and wanted to take a picture,” Darius said, shrugging. “By the way, what’s your name?” he asked, addressing the girl. The girl blew her noise noisily and didn’t reply. Tera Roth shook his head. “Maybe I’ll tell you who she is later…” The girl looked rather shocked for a moment, then looked embarrassed and buried her face in the handkerchief, while Highwind chewed on some grass he’d just pulled out of the ground. Darius shook her head. “Whatever, let’s just get back to base.” *** “So, did you hear about that girl?” Tyre asked Tera Roth later as they headed for the debriefing center. “She turned out to be some secretary from Genesis that came all the way to the headquarters of the Soul Knight to see this guy she had a crush on!” “Women,” Tera Roth said. “She could have written.” “Huh?” Tyre grunted, confused. “Maybe I’ll tell you later,” Tera Roth said, entering the building. “So these the guys I’m working with on my next assignment?” “Yeah, you’re heading for some small islands called the Destiny Islands,” Tyre said. “I’m off to my next assignment, so I’ll see you when you get back.” “Later, blueberry,” Tera Roth said, walking up to the group. “Well, heya y’all, I’m Tera Roth, and…Wait a sec, I know all of you,” Tera Roth said. “Two blasts from the past in one day!” Tera Roth smiled and remembered… *** They had met about six or seven months ago on, coincidentally, their homeworld of Genesis. Ever since Tera Roth had learned of Osidia, he had been trying to get some money to get offworld, to start searching. So, it was somewhat of a fateful day when he walked into the Job Application Center of Core, and met the group of men and women that stood before him in the present. Tera Roth, who was no introvert, began introducing himself. “Hullo, my name’s Darryl von Karrte-Tera Roth, pleased to meet you,” he nearly bellowed at everyone at the same time. “And you are?” CHARACTER INTRODUCTION: Tera Roth Age: 17 Height: 6’0” Weapon of Choice: Simple Sword Statistics: Attack – 10, Defense – 10, Magic –10, Magic Defense – 10 OOC: Now, please post just a little background info (mine’s overworked to give you a background on your job), and your introduction to Tera Roth as well, though it doesn’t have to be as happy as his.
OOC: It's similar in a lot of ways, but different in a lot of ways...My images are done uploading, I'll post it in the RPA in just a second. Um, basically, it's different in the fact that I made it a lot less confusing, and am much, much, much better prepared to do it. I had to work really hard the last couple of weeks, but I've got the groundwork for a really good RP, at least in my opinion.
OOC: I may be late, but I'm not down for the count. Obsidian Sky has finally reached the point where I can post it and let people join. I'm going to be putting the link in my sig, FYI, but I might not be on tonight for us to start. Then again, no one's online besides Jaxed, so this is like I'm talking to myself...
Xardius swallowed. "Um, not really...But I know what he is now, and uh..." His eyes narrowed. "I'm better." OOC: And I won't be on today. Sorry. Wasted all my time watching anime.
OOC: Yikes! Gotta go! Sorry! EDIT BIC: Xardius beamed Xane in the face with a fist, and sighed. "If Mellodia hadn't called dibs, I'd rip that guy's face off, but..." Xardius looked up the mountain. "If I go really fast, I'll get there just in time for Tul Raijin to fight me with his new powers..." Xardius said, a grin spreading across his face. "It's been a long time..." Xardius said, his eyes nearly burning. "Now come on!"
Xardius dodged lightning, trampled C.A. (because he wasn't paying attention to Mellodia), and continued powerhousing up the mountain...
Xardius yelled back down the mountain. "Well, contain him somehow! Or spread him out so much he flies apart and can't come back! I don't know!" Suddenly, he snapped his fingers. "I GOT IT!" Skidding back down the mountain, he whispered into Xegreny's ear... OOC: Which will be in a PM.
Xardius called back down the mountain, "He's hot air. Solidify him or something, if you can. That's the best advice I can give!" "I'm guessing the second god is going to pop out too," Xardius said, cracking his knuckles.
OOC: Probably. All right, I'm here. BIC: Xardius raised an eyebrow. "Um, but didn't you want to own Tul Raijin? Whatever, let's just keep going." Climbing up the mountain like there was nothing to it, Xardius hummed a little to himself. "Somebody's in trouble," he muttered to himself.
OOC: Yeah, where did the macho man get off too? And things were just about to get interesting...
OOC: If you're looking to watch it, Animecrazy.net has the whole series subbed...
OOC: My internet's dying... BIC: Xardius shrugged. "Ok, why not? Let's see...Hmm, he's on that mountain over there." Xardius began half carrying Wukong as he moved towards the mountain. (Xegreny and Wing followed, so they don't get lost.)
OOC: That's...a lot... BIC: "Yeah," Xardius said. "And you're Wukong, right? What do you want?"
OOC: Maybe. I dunno. Probably enough to continue Tul Raijin killing little eagle chicks.
