"Dark Aegis" R said unsurprised as a barrier made of translucent purple hexagons formed around him, protecting him from the dark firaga. He didn't counterattack though. He'd simply parry and block her blows until she was worn out. As they were strong in power, but lacked accuracy, it wouldn't be to hard. He'd simply let her tire herself and try again.
"Sapphire, you must learn to control it. Flailing wildly wont get you far. Try to turn it off. You mustn't lose yourself in the darkness. Become it's equal. Don't try to be the master or let yourself be the slave. Try to turn it off." R said, trying to get her to exercise control. If she could will herself out of it, she'd be that much closer to being able to enter it and exit it whenever she pleased. Not only that, but control her actions while in it. "Yeah whatever you say" Beuce said chuckling, he sent a strike raid through a row of shadows, taking out about 7, as they were conveniently placed.
R was admittedly surprised. Not only had she done it on her first attempt, but she did it with quite a bit of force. In addition, she seemed to channel it through some kind of dark mode. "Well done. Well done indeed." R said to her, trying to sound less monotone than usual. He used some arms made of darkness to pick up the pieces of the wall and put them back together. "With more practice, you'll be able to do that at will." Not one to be shown up, Beuce flew up toward a battleship heartless, Slicing through the sail and breaking the mast with his elbow. He then stabbed his keyblade into the ground and channeled a fire spell through it, causing bursts of fire to shoot out in every direction. He back flipped off and landed back on the main ship just before it blew into a great many number of pieces. He cockily turned to Louvel, awaiting his reaction.
"Good. Now, Will that power down into your arm, build it up in the palm of your hand and picture heat, fire. if successful, it will be given shape into a basic dark Firaga. Once you master this, we'll move onto more advanced things." R said to his current student. They were making progress. If she managed to use dark firaga on her first try, it would mean she was somewhat in tune with the darkness. As was common with people who suffered tragedy. Although it didn't take much to use the spell, it did take some to get it on the first attempt. He watched, eager to see her result. "Oi, let's see who can take out the most" Beuce said, inviting challengers. After he did so, he headbutted a heartless then roundhouse kicked another before finishing off both with his keyblade and a fire spell.
"You simply need more practice. I've seen you do it on instinct, which means doing it willingly is far from impossible. Let's see...Try to remember what you felt when it took over you in combat and see if you can re-create those feelings for yourself" R said to her. If this didn't work, he would see if combat brought it out. As Beuce left first, he was the first one to the ship. "whew. I could get used to that. Now then..." He said, looking around. he didn't see many pirates, but he saw plenty of heartless. it would seem they'd gotten to them. "Ooo tough break for the pirates. Either that or they're hiding." He shrugged then used Ars Arcanum on a few air pirates.
