Xardius smiled. "Determination is the key to success. To the point of collapse. Give me more!" This time he attacked her, taking it slow and easy, at least for him. Crissilia was still hard-pressed, however, to block his blows, but just like Wing, she was agile, and able to block and dodge every single one. Xardius relented for a moment, as the breath came sharp and fast from Crissilia. "Don't give up on me now," he said. "It's hard. But push yourself to something you've never seen before...And, in the pushing, you will grow. So don't hold back! Give it your all!" *** Enigma shrugged. "I did get through this tournament didn't I?" He pulled his gun out of its sleeve, and readied it.
Xardius nodded. "All right, first thing's first." He pulled out Shurunrai. "Show me everything you have." *** Enigma smiled slightly. "That, my friend, is what this tournament is all about." With that he back-flipped gracefully back into Xegreny's arena, and slammed a fist straight into Adumbral, sending him nearly four inches deeper into the wall...
"How was it formed? Well, the beginning was a long time ago, and it started with only a few members; Scourge and his trusted allies from some thing or another I guess. Then he started recruiting to help him do...er, a private thing..." Enigma cleared his throat. "I am definitely not cleared to tell you that, sorry. Anyway, I was recruited that way only a few years ago. There haven't really been any new members lately, except for a couple of people who are attempting to join now, for the power, I think." *** Xardius sighed. "As long as you promise not to tell him. It's the fact that he always will be my friend, no matter what happens, through the thick and the thin. Maybe you can appreciate that." He shrugged. "Of course, I have plenty of stories, some of them not even from this lifetime, about Wing and I. Let's go, shall we?" He stepped through, disappearing.
Enigma very nearly jumped, but managed not to. "Oh, Xane. What about the Brotherhood?"
OOC: Get married. lol, srsly. XD BIC: Xardius smiled grimly. "Right, then. I know the perfect place." Opening a portal to the place he'd found earlier while just wandering around Asgard, he motioned her to step through. "You know," he said as an afterthought. "That's exactly how I asked Wing if he wanted to train with me..." *** Enigma sighed and turned. "At least you're not a coward, Adumbral. Hitting me in the back would have been a mistake." Saluting the opponents, he leaped out of the arena, walking slowly in an intercept course (unintentional) towards Xane.
OOC: OK, I'm relieved...Hey, you keep mentioning your girlfriend...are you guys..."serious?" BIC: Xardius stood there for a moment, then turned and looked back. He had an expression on his face that he'd been told looked perfectly natural on him. He hadn't been sure how to take it. He still didn't. The expression was just a small smile that carried to his eyes. "Wing," he said to Crissilia, "is a complete and utter idiot...I don't know if he'll ever know how much I have to thank him for." He cleared his throat, and the smile disappeared. "So, Crissilia, you're Wing. I know it and I know you know it. That out of the way, let's get down to business." He stepped forward and squatted down to her level. "To put it blatantly. You need training. I can give it. Interested?"
OOC: You say that, I look, I find no one...Actually, there was this one guy who PMed but he hasn't been on, so... And I guess I misunderstood...You did use the phrase, and I quote, "I don't know how much longer I'll be able to participate in this wonderful RP." -_-; And I don't blame you Xegreny...not at all...Don't maim my characters.......... BIC: Xardius sighed. "Sorry to put you through this Wing. It seems all of the members have led tragic lives...and it's really because I couldn't defeat Scourge way back when..." He turned and began walking off, not letting Wing see how much he was going to miss him. "Do what you have to do. We'll find you. Keep your head where it needs to be, though. Don't worry about us. We'll be fine." And then he was gone.
OOC: Since he told me last month...He's gonna quit so he can do college full time or such, at the end of this month. BIC: Xardius stared hard at Novice, his eyes glinting. Finally, he closed his eyes, gathering himself. Standing up, he opened them and looked at Novice, the honest truth speaking in his eyes. "I'm not stupid, Novice. You think I'd choose to live as an immortal being...? You know what they live like..." Xardius shook his head. "The memories are foggy...But I remember slight details. The man I was before I was a Phoenix, before time even began here, had something he wanted immortality for...So he chose to become immortal. But the process was involuntary. It was forced upon me." "So the answer to your question? I was created," Xardius said. "I did not have a choice...But until I remember more, that's up for grabs."
Xardius cocked an eyebrow. "Yeah, I do know you actually. But it's not important. What's your question?" Enigma nodded to Xardius and took his departure. Walking outside, he began talking rapidly. "Sage, get Shiva," he said. "Yes, it's that bad...Thank you. I'll talk to you later." Walking fast through the hallway, he entered the arena, staring down at Xegreny, Darxess, and Adumbral. He shook his head. "This could get messy," he said, jumping into the arena, two healing spells already dousing the members. "I'm only here for the duration, so try not to die while I'm gone." He saluted to Adumbral, and began to walk away. EDIT OOC: Man, what happened to the good old days when everybody was on...Star, Hidden, Xegreny, Nulix, Jaxed sometimes, me all the time XD, Pirate, Wing...Where has everybody gone...? Wing's leaving...Star and Hidden are practically gone...Nulix is never here...Pirate, Jaxed, and Xegreny are occasional...And in a year or less, I'll be gone too... Oh well, maybe I'll just all email you someday about how I've finished the fanfic...It'd be cool if later in life we all met, y'know? XD, it'd be pretty crazy to have a great UO get together...
OOC: 'Kay. See ya tomorrow, hopefully, XD. BIC: Enigma shrugged as he walked towards Xardius' room. "It's what I can't figure out. Why is a ex-Guardian working against another ex-Guardian? I thought you guys were all buddy-buddy...And if you're talking about Tera Roth, I don't think he's EVER had it in for you guys. If anything, he's looking out for you more than he'll let on." Enigma opened the door to find Xardius yawning, and tucking in the fainted nurse in bed. Rubbing his neck, he spotted Enigma and raised an eyebrow. In response, Enigma flooded him with a healing spell. Xardius grunted and walked outside, stretching. "I'm fine everyone," he said. "Healed right up once the chaos ran out of my system, and I could take off my wraps..." OOC: I think I'll hit the hay too...See ya!
Enigma took 15 seconds to look at the knife. In those 15 seconds, he also healed Xane. In those 15 seconds, this is what he deduced. The slight scraping of the edge here was where it had grated inside Xardius' throat, and so that meant the angle was this, and the thrust had been right-handed. The grip was large, but had finger grips, probably form-fitted for a large-handed person. The blade itself was etched with a simple pattern on one side, which took Enigma the remaining 10 seconds to figure out where it came from, the manufacturer, and who it manufactured for. Enigma turned to Wing as he finished healing Xane, and began producing a healing spell for Wing and Crissilia at once. "His name is Hegemoth, and he is the former Guardian of Wind," Enigma said. "He came to the dark side a little while ago, and is holed up with one of the anti-UO organizations, though I do not know what he has against you or Xardius, being an ex-Guardian himself. I do know he has a long-standing rivalry with both Tera Roth and Tyre Rutherford, which probably is what made him leave in the first place." Enigma shrugged. "If I'm right, the man would have had piercing blue eyes and spiky blond hair, and was probably taller than everyone but Xardius; at least, who's here." Finishing the healing spell, he pointed to a room. "Xardius in there?"
"Oh, Xane," Enigma said, blinking slowly. "I was just on my way to heal you all. Glad you're here. Ferocious last battle. Congratulations." *** "That old wimp's straightway in a coma," the man said, wiping his hands off in the sink. "Done through and through." "Hmph, you underestimate him, I think," the other man said, shaking his head. "This will be interesting..."
The man idly dodged the spell, making it look as if Wing had missed. Slamming the knife into the ground, he threw back his hood and sneered. "Remember me, Coa?" he asked, his spiky blond hair waving as he laughed. Then the world erupted into white wind, obliterating everything. When the wind dissipated, the man was gone, leaving only the knife. EDIT OOC: My apologies Pirate. It's an editing party. BIC: Enigma looked vaguely surprised, then shrugged. "Why not? Let's go..." And he leaped down towards the medical wing, knowing that Wing and Xardius were both there...
The "assailant" silently stood in the middle of the hallway, waiting for Wing... *** Back in the medical wing, Xardius was vainly trying not to hit something. What kind of idiot stabs him in the middle of the night, and expects him to DIE!? Xardius very nearly shook his head but he though that would put the nurse, who was frantically trying to keep him alive, into a coma, so he refrained. Instead, he thought about who would even try to kill him...After all, he was invincible. Literally. All he had to do was unwrap his bandages and... Oh, wait, he couldn't really move...His muscles were still completely cramped from the chaos that Chaos had thrust into him. Xardius would have chuckled but he didn't want to hurt his throat any more, which they'd just gotten sewn up while he wasn't paying attention. Well, whatever, Xardius said, winking at the nurse, who fainted, and then closing his eyes. Clever boys, he thought as he started to go to sleep. Be careful Wing. *** EDIT: Enigma nodded and turned towards Novice. "I won't be fighting the UO. I'll be fighting the Brotherhood, you know. You know Scourge. Whoever has the most fighting power wins the prize...So I plan to give them everything I have...or at least everything they can take." He smiled slightly. "Do whatever you wish, just don't get yourself killed doing it. And keep an eye on Loki. He's planning something behind our backs."
Enigma was facing away from Novice, and he didn't turn around. "Novice, where do you stand? With what ideal do you live by? The destruction of the Ultimate Organization or...the one I hold to? Which?" he asked softly. EDIT OOC: Bah, gone again. BIC: Xardius lay unmoving in the bed, trying to sleep. He was uncomfortable, rigid. Which is why he didn't see the infiltrator. Which is why he didn't see the knife until it was driving into his neck. Which is why he lay unmoving as the shadow slipped away...
OOC: At least someone cares... BIC: Xardius grunted something, but he couldn't really move...so...he was pretty much silent...
Xardius nodded. "I don't really understand why I feel so wasted..." Suddenly, his muscles seized up. "What...? The...?" He collapsed on the ground, his muscles frozen. "I can't...move...Dang it...It must have been those chaos spheres..." His world went black... *** Enigma had finalized his Round 2 with less enthusiasm and much better health than the unfortunate UO, but that wasn't important. He didn't really expect them to keep up with him. He stood on one of the pedestals, watching the final blows of Chaos...He spotted Novice, but stayed where he was. Novice would find him. EDIT OOC: Try getting on about the same time as you posted tonight, Pirate, tomorrow. I'll be on then and we'll finish this part, OK?
Chaos snarled and leaned heavily down on Xardius, who with brute force, kept himself from being crushed under the giant being's weight. Chaos leered at Xardius through his pain, and Xardius sneered back. The next instant, Chaos' expression turned to horrendous pain as Xardius rammed his knee into Chaos' groin. Rearing back and roaring in anger, Chaos clutched his goods and stumbled a bit. Xardius yanked the Masamune free of Chaos' chest in an eruption of chaos blood, and ripped an upward slash, slicing straight through Chaos. Chaos screamed in pain, and stumbled some more. Xardius rammed the Masamune straight through Chaos, cutting him in half perfectly vertical. Chaos exploded as the bubble around the field vanished. "Congratulations," Odin said in a grunted whisper. "You've completed Round 2."
Spikes erupted from Chaos' back as he pressed downwards on Xardius, making it very....poky for Xane.
