OOC: Well, well, well...Second matches are, of course, the Judges, proving that Aries himself is not a judge. The judges will be the Norse gods, including Thor and Odin. Nice fight so far, Darxess. Nice ring-around-the-rosie Nulix, lol. I enjoyed it all. BIC: Enigma walked quickly away from the bathroom, and slammed headfirst into a wall of flesh. He looked up blankly at Xardius, who was standing there with a frown on his face, his arms folded. Enigma blinked, realized who he was looking at, and turned around. Xardius grabbed him by the back of his shirt and hoisted him up to eye level. "So, uh, you're with the Brotherhood," Xardius said simply. Enigma, after a moment, nodded. Xardius shrugged and put Enigma down. "OK, just so we've got that covered. Now, what the heck are you doing running off like that?" Enigma frowned. "Huh? Aren't you...never mind. I had to rendezvous with Scourge." Xardius nodded, staring back at the arena. "Look, I don't know what you're planning, but I have to ask...are you planning to harm the Ultimate Organization?" Enigma sighed. "The Brotherhood has...conflicting factions at the moment. I'm a member of the faction that believes in, well, let's say a greater destiny for the UO. Scourge himself wants to see if I can pull it off and that's why he assigned me with you." He shrugged again and scrubbed a hand through his hair. "To tell you the truth, I wasn't supposed to be helping you this much. But...I can tell you. The Brotherhood faction in this tournament is the one that wants to destroy you." He looked up at Xardius and tapped him on the chest. "Do you understand?" Xardius smiled slightly. "I don't think you'll find me a hard guy to talk to, Enigma." Enigma nodded after a moment and leaned against the arena wall. "I've wanted to meet you and the other members for quite some time, and I really was overjoyed to be assigned to help you in your fight. Scourge...even I don't understand him, but I do know one thing...he set this tournament up to see which faction would win: the one I personally believe he stands by, the one in which I'm a member...and the one that has people such as Ulian and Zaxor in it." Xardius turned to look up at the sun and squinted against it. "Tell me, Enigma, since I already know you're in the tournament, which side will you be fighting on?" Enigma's eyes hardened. "They'll never see me coming." Xardius turned his head to look at Enigma, eying him up and down. "This is gonna be one heckuva of a show." Enigma nodded grimly. "On my honor." OOC: And so...we move on.
Enigma raised an eyebrow, collecting himself mentally. "I take it then that the ex-'Emperor' is not dead..." He tapped his chin. "I'll deal with Loki. We don't need any more maniacs running around with ideas in their head...After 'Cow Killer', I'd say we've hit an all-time low. Anyway, I can't leave the UO, as you know, so I'll have to ask you to talk with Tul Raijin." His eyes bored into Novice's. "Remember Novice, don't let it catch you. If it does, I'll have to kill you myself, and that would be decidedly unpleasant...for both of us."
Enigma practically threw himself through the portal, dragging Novice after him and leaned against the bathroom wall, breathing heavily. Wiping sweat that had just sprang onto his brow from it, he turned to Novice. "What's the news?" he asked, breathing a sigh out. OOC: And of course, that's what I'm hear for. *takes a bow*
"Novice," Scourge said quietly in his tenor voice, "wait outside for a moment." Enigma glanced sharply at Scourge, and relaxed visibly, thanking the heavens above that Scourge wasn't in one of his "moods" today. He seemed to be doing better lately, but...every good thing comes to an end. As Novice left the room, Scourge walked over to a few chairs and sat in one. "Have a seat," he offered. Enigma shook his head slightly. Scourge shrugged. "Tell me," he said. "How are our boys doing?" Enigma wanted to squirm under Scourge's piercing gaze, but refrained. "Our plan is...coming along." "So you said," Scourge grunted. Silence followed. Enigma cleared his throat. "How is...it going?" "Badly," Scourge muttered. "I don't think we'll be able to manage more than a month." Enigma hissed slightly, and Scourge nodded. "That's why..." you called me in personally, he finished to himself, looking away, and silently berated himself. "My apologies." "You've been out of touch," Scourge said calmly. "And I'm mostly sane at the moment, so it's no matter." Enigma looked up and flushed slightly. "Was I that obvious?" "Hmph, everyone's obvious," Scourge said bitterly, standing up and walking past Enigma to a table where some beverage or another was awaiting. Pouring himself a glass, he swallowed deeply. "I most of all. Still, it's of little importance in the grand scheme of things. I haven't killed you yet." Years previous, Enigma would have taken that as a joke, but the years of bitterness were obvious in Scourge's voice. Enigma stared silently at him for a moment, then stepped forward and leaned in close. "Just remember who you were when you found me," Enigma said. "I'll never stop believing in you...Rune." Scourge's eyes widened and he stared at Enigma for a moment, then nodded. "Thank you, my friend," Scourge said, his voice cracking slightly. Suddenly he straightened, his eyes narrowing. "Leave. Now." Enigma knew better than to argue. Without further ado, he veritably rushed from the room as a low growl erupted from Scourge. Grabbing Novice, he leaned close. "Unless you want to die, I suggest you vacate the area immediately. It's back as bad as ever. Let's go."
OOC: Stupid database errors... BIC: Enigma shrugged and stepped through the portal into the hallway. As usual, there weren't any guards, because why guard someone stronger than anyone else? Enigma almost laughed but didn't. Silently, he and Novice strode towards the doors. Enigma stepped to the side to allow Novice the "blessing" of opening the door for him. Little things counted, and Novice, although he was supposed to be working closely with Enigma, generally let little or none of his plans through to the ex-Libarian. Which meant that Enigma's reports normally left much to be desired, as he was supposed to be reporting on what both of them were doing. Still, Enigma left Novice mostly alone and Novice left him mostly alone, so he wondered if it really mattered all that much at all.
OOC: OK, here we go then... BIC: Enigma walked slowly around the back of the arena, kicking trash out of his path and sneering slightly at it. From the layer of dust back here, no one had been by in ages, making Enigma peeved that he had to cover his tracks, so to speak. He didn't want anyone to know about this. After walking for a few minutes, he stopped at an old abandoned restroom and stepped to the side that faced away from the arena. He inclined his head. "Good afternoon, Novice," he said smoothly. "I must say, I didn't expect him to send you personally. Perhaps this means that Scourge isn't exactly...happy...with me...After all, my report the last time was something of a...failure." He shrugged. "So, let's get this over with. Take me to him."
OOC: Hmph. All right, Pirate, read my PM and then we'll continue...
OOC: OK, maybe I won't have to go camping...My parents are reconsidering I guess...Either way, please post something guys!
OOC: I have 12 days until school starts, and two days until I'm dragged off on vacation again...*sigh* Well, um, SOMEONE knows what's next, so keep moving through your matches...I'll be on for a while, then I'll be back tomorrow.
OOC: I seriously do not want to go camping ever again. I got ambushed by my family and taken away Wednesday, so I'm sorry about my disappearance. It was pretty fun, in case you care XD, but...it looks like you're right in saying that without me, the thread kind of dies... BIC: Xardius, after watching Xane's fight for a bit, noticed the other Organization members around, and decided to take a walk. Noting that Wing had met Cressilia, Xardius strolled by, stretching out with his senses for other things of interest. It wasn't so much his senses, as in sight or smell or hearing, as it was a sixth or seventh sense, a filter of emotions if you will. Xardius didn't remember where he'd picked it up, but it was much better than anything else he'd ever found to lock onto people. There was a lot of arrogance, scorn at the Organization, and other mixed feelings. Xardius found himself surprised when he filtered emotions for the Brotherhood...it ranged from neutral to jealousy of the powers and wishes of their standing to respect to contentment to amusement that the Organization wanted to fight them. Xardius paused in his search for a moment, and did another search, this one of any changes in patterns of emotions. If the Brotherhood were brainwashing the inhabitants, their emotional patterns would read similar, with only minor differences over an underlying current of emotion. To his surprise, again, he found that the emotions were all self-induced. Puzzling over this fact, he came to the conclusion that either the Brotherhood was faking a lot of things in order to gain popularity, something he didn't find likely because there really was no reason for them to do that, or that the Brotherhood really wasn't tyrannically oppressing the people like he had assumed. But what did that mean exactly? Xardius wasn't sure, but he thought it might be important... Something to talk to Enigma about. Where was Enigma exactly? OOC: And I need Pirate for the rest...
OOC: Jealous women are the scariest types. BIC: Xardius watched the conversation with wry amusement. "Way to put your priorities straight, Xane," he said softly.
OOC: Hurry up Pirate...I'm going to have to go soon...
OOC: Oh, okay, bye... :( (What horrors will befall the UO if I ever decide to get a life -_-; )
OOC: Meh, I need to sleep more, but other than that, it's just the usual. Can't wait for school, :P. Lol, I just found a Darxess expression... :{| BIC: Xardius shrugged. "I hear everything eventually. Your opponent looks like it's...a Valkyrie by the name of Saedra. I heard those Valkyries are pretty tough, don't push yourself."
OOC: XD, hai back! Other than school, life treating you well? BIC: Xardius turned to Bellatrix and smiled warmly. "Good to see you up and running. I heard from one of the staff you weren't feeling well. And I suppose you've heard that Nulix got shot...again. Been to see him?"
OOC: Thanks Pirate! Xardius chuckled. "They can and they just did. So, have fun, womanizer."
OOC: Hey hidden...Yeah, if you could PM me about the Norse Gods too, Pirate, or give me a link to a good site with them...All I know is from Valkyrie Profile, and that I don't take as anything other than Square's messed-up wacked-out version of mythology that they like to do in all their other games. And I thought about fighting Aries, but I decided that it just wouldn't be a fun fight for Xardius to fight Aries...After all, punching each other until one drops is...well, that's how it would have gone mostly...:(
The man shrugged. "Suit yourself. I'm not telling you to leave or stay, just that you might want to think about your actions before you carry them through." He turned and began walking away. "No matter how tough nails you happen to be, the consequences always catch up in the end. Just remember that. See you in the arena." With that, he disappeared. Xardius walked up at that moment and peered into the room. "Heard Nulix got shot again. Makes me wonder if he didn't provoke the guy on purpose." He shook his head. "No one remembers the guy who did it, but I didn't really expect them to. Guys like that just walk in, shoot, get out while people are shocked by what happened. Good thing Wing found him." He sighed. "All right, so I'm finished with round 1, but Xegreny's taking a...minor break at the moment, so..." Xardius shrugged. "Looks like we have members dropping out left and right, to get straight to the point."
"No kidding," a voice said from behind the group. A man stood slumped against the wall. "You'd think to learn to mind your own business." Taking a long draught from his beverage, the man crushed the can and threw it to the side, standing up and wiping his mouth off. He was grungy, black hair, dark eyes, and dark skin. He was caked in dirt and looked like he hadn't had a shower in a couple of weeks. "After all," the man said, running a tongue over his somehow white teeth, "it's not as if anyone invited you here. Except for maybe the boss, but I can guarantee that he didn't ask you to join this tournament. No, you're here uninvited and when something happens, you act as if you weren't expecting it." The man shook his head. "Just sad, really. You're here to destroy the Brotherhood? Bah, do you hear anyone complaining about them here?" The man shook his head again. "Might want to think about that, if I was you."
OOC: Thanks! I wanted to drag it out a bit longer and make it more intense, but a couple of reasons made me just put that down. Anyway, Xegreny might not be here for the next two weeks; Nulix is gone...and...*sighs*
