Walking back into the mansion silently, R could feel Gexln staring at him. Likely pondering his thoughts or motives. He himself began wondering the same about Gexln. R was the first to speak. "Assume you do obtain the power you seek. What would you do with it? Power is but a means, not an end." The heartless asked.

Beuce looked over at the people coming into the tower. They all looked rather sad. "Jeez. Who died?" It was then Azurite told his story. "Oh. that's who." He was silent for a moment. Wait, Beuce, silent? That's not right. He began talking to fix it. He causualy made his way over to the blonde who had come in with them. He had a thing for blondes....And brunettes....and red heads...and- well women in general really. Beuce wasn't picky. Nor was his memory all that great apparently. "So, did it hurt when you fell from heaven? Oh wait, you didn't. I must be there to be with you. Plus it's in your banner so..." The white haired man shrugged.

Satsujin glared at the man who had scared away the nobodies. Not because he had interfered with the fight. No, he'd done that himself. He glared because of the mention of the name R. As he began walking away, the assassin spoke up. "Halt" He called, pointing his katana at his back. "What do you want with R? If you know who he is, you likely know what he can do. Well i'm telling you now, stay away from him. He's my target. Get in my way, and you'll share his fate." He threatened. The man had been threatening to scare away the nobodies, but then Satsujin had been using nothing more than his regular techniques. Not even utilizing the power of Narukami. This man was powerful, but powerful wasn't exactly a foreign concept to Satsujin. His profession was destroying those too powerful for his clients to do themselves.

Xindai continued his barrage of force pushes, pinning him up against the wall. Once he had this accomplished, he did half a backflip and kicked off his opponent's chest, flying backward quite a bit. Upside down, he tossed his glaive at his opponent, and created the illusion that dozens were flying at him. He could only block some of them, but which one he blocked were a matter of luck.

Atop a nearby rooftop stood a tall Asian man in a kimono. He had long black hair, about down to the middle of his back and was rather pale. This was the legendary assassin Satsujin, but not many would know that by looking at him. Most considered seeing his face as a curse, as that meant the end was near for his target. His blue eyes peered down over the edge of the building as a man was destroying nobody after nobody. He appeared to be wearing down. It was then that ten more, higher ranked nobodies appeared. Disgusted in the cowardice of grouping together against a worn down opponent, Satsujin decided to step in. Taking a step forward as though he intended to dash, the assassin vanished into the air, and appeared behind a berserker. One strike from his razor sharp blade and the nobody was felled.

Reaching into a pocket in the inner breast of his kimono, he pulled out three kunai. Throwing knives. With a swift swipe of his arm, all three were planted in the forehead of a berserker directly across from him. In the blink of an eye, one was dead and another was injured, if not sharing the same fate as it's predecessor. He looked around at the other eight foes. They seemed powerful, and a hit from them would likely be extensively painful, but the way of an assassin was to strike swift and true, not giving them a chance to counterattack. He readied his blade and reflexes to react to any attacks that might be sent his way, and momentarily glanced at the other person combating them.

R glanced up at the sky. In the distance he could see someone on a keyblade glider and a gummi ship. Likely the recently departed girl's companions. The thought of giving chase crossed his mind, but he decided against it. One death was enough for today. He turned around, silent as he walked back to the computer. He still had a task. He needed to oversee the reconstruction of the cornerstones, and that was exactly what he intended to do.

At the keyblade graveyard, Xindai's battle with the lingering will continued on. He grinned from beneath his mask as his tactic worked, and struck his foe. It seemed they were beginning to take offensive. Xindai sought to change that, keep them on the defensive. Using his telekinesis to levitate himself, he flew head on at the armor. He extended his hand and a burst of force shot from it. He repeated this action as many times as his opponent would allow, attempting to pin them to the wall with the technique.

"As long as he carries out my orders, what he believes is none of my concern." R replied to Gexln. R was slightly interested when Gexln said that he could speak the language of the dark. "Can you now? That's a rare skill" He said, in the language in question. Being a heartless, it was his native tongue, thus he spoke it fluently. "I've only ever met one other person with the ability to communicate in such a fashion. He used a harmonica to do so. Yet he disappeared, never to be seen again." In any case, R continued walking and sat down at the computer, checking the status of all the screens. They seemed to be displaying data regarding various things, one of which was the pod's contents. There were a few locked files but R dismissed them as unimportant.

Beuce backed off from Sapphire when she began to get angry at him. He looked at the other lights and realized they might, and probably did, have the wrong idea about what exactly he had asked her to do. He raised his hands defensively. "It's not what you think, i swear"

So the armor was on the defensive? Interesting enough. He'd managed to deflect his glaive. Xindai threw the glaive once more, sending it flying in a curved motion to the right side. Only this time, he used an underhanded trick. Utilizing his power over the mind, he caused the image to be mirrored in the lingering will's eyes, making it appear as though it were coming from the left. A strong enough mind or someone with a sharp enough wit would be able to see through this illusion, but this was only an empty shell, a shadow of the man he once was. Surely he couldn't fall into that category.

"Heh, tempting as it sounds i'm afraid i'll have to refuse." Emerald said to Lysa as she mounted her own Keyblade glider. "Well then, let's be off! Race ya." She called to everyone, taking off and trusting they'd follow. Emerald increased her speed, causing the wind to course through her hair. But something happened next which no one could have anticipated. Out in the lanes between, there was a stray rock floating along, and it was rather large. Emerald was going too fast to stop in time, and clipped it on the right side of her glider, sending her tumbling off course and downward. Dazed by the impact, she was unable to regain control. She fell, onto the closest world. As she was falling, she had drifted off of her glider and was now alone. She saw a sunset and trees, many of which were bare. Striking right into one, she fell onto one of it's larger branches, lodging it through her left lung and breaking it off. She struck several other branches along the way, badly bruising and injuring her. A second branch portruded from her side in a similar fashion as the one from her lung. Her eyes widened in pain and shock as she gasped for air.

Outside, R heard something strike the roof, as it had come from directly outside of the library, which was close enough by. "What was that?" He questioned. As he left the computer to investigate, he opened a corridor of darkness, leading to behind the mansion. When he exited, he saw a girl with bright green hair, obviously extensively injured. Hurriedly walking over to her, he propped her up into a half sitting up position and looked her over. She was obviously well beyond the touches of healing magic. Likely a good majority of her bones had been broken during her accident. R pondered if there was a way to save her. If one existed, it would be immensely painful, not that it could get much worse from her current circumstances.

Emerald looked up at the man kneeling over her. He had a serious look on his face, she sensed darkness in his heart, yet no ill intent toward her. Her vision began blurring as she nearly lost consciousness. Whether it was due to blood loss or sheer pain, she didn't know. Blood began spilling out her mouth as she uttered to him. "Please..."

R grimly shook his head, implying there was nothing to be done. "I'm afraid this is beyond my abilities. Perhaps anyone's abilities, even. I'm afraid there's only one thing that i can do for you..." R said, standing up and summoning his keyblade. An act such as this should be done properly, not with some phantom weapon forged from the dark. "End your suffering, to keep it from prolonging."
Emerald looked up at the sky. So this was it? This was where she died? It seemed to be so. This man was offering to kill her, not out of anger or hatred, but out of kindness. She closed her eyes and braced herself.

Recieving the final nod from the dying girl, R stood over her, holding his keyblade in a downward position. "Now, i release you from your pain, may your heart return to whence it came, and find comfort there. May this darkness...grant you peace" R finished, and struck down, piercing her chest, and puncturing a major organ. Death followed in seconds.

Emerald felt the sting of his blade, but it didn't last long. In fact, all of her pain soon slipped away. Life was leaving her body, as it slowly vanished into a golden light, embracing her and wiping away he body, and the blood it spilt. A pink heart, clad in the same golden light floated out, and raised up to the sky. R had shown her mercy, and she thanked him for that.

    Chapter two is up!
Marik scowled at his opponent's refusal to give up. He had nearly taken him out, yet he got back up. "You fool, there's nothing you can do against these beasts in a single turn! All it would take is one more attack to end your measly life!" He yelled to Senji, attempting to break his spirits.

"Just shut up and watch!" Senji commanded his opponent. "I'm turning this around and there's nothing you can do about!" He gave one more glance at the man behind him. He had a serious look on his face, staring down Marik, but the man on the other side of the field made no reaction to it. He ignored him entirely. Or maybe, it wasn't that he was ignoring him. That didn't seem like the kind of thing Marik would do. What if he didn't even know he was there? In any case, it was his move, and he had to make it count. "First, D.D. Scout plane returns to the field due to the start of a new turn!"

    D.D.Scout plane
    Lv: 2
    Atk: 800
    Def: 1200

"What? But i never destroyed that monster." Marik said, staring at Senji's new creature

"You should pay more attention. It's thanks to you that i could summon this. Dealings, Remember?" He said, indicating that he'd discarded it to the banished zone. "Now, I summon the thing that'll help me take down your two beaters over there! D.D. destroyer! Come out!" The young duelist called as he laid down the card he'd drawn.

    D.D. Destroyer
    LV: 4
    Atk: 1000
    Def: 1000

An almost monkey-like creature appeared, except it's limbs were various other animal parts, and growled angrily at Marik. "It only has 1000 attack points, against my 3300. That's your saving grace?" Marik said with a laugh, far underestimating the card's effect.

"Yeah, it is. You'll see why once I activate this." Senji said, slipped a card from his hand into the spell and trap card zone. The ground rumbled as a large machine rose up in the center of the field. In its center was a circular portal spiraling with a great many number of bright colors. "Different Dimension Gate! When this card is activated, i pick two monsters, one on each side of the field, and have them go through the gate, which removes them from play. I choose my D.D. Destroyer and your Masked Beast Des Gardius!" A swirling wind began drawing in the monsters, slowly drawing them in until they both were sucked through the portal. As per the effect of Soul Absorption, two souls floated back out of the portal and into Senji.

    Senji: 1700

Marik slightly tilted his head in the direction of Legendary fiend, as if to remind Senji it was still on the field. "Hold your Horus there, Destroyer isn't done with you yet! His effect is when he's banished, i can destroy one card on your field! And take a guess which one i choose." Marik looked shocked as his Legendary Fiend exploded into flames and was removed from play. Shocked, and almost afraid. He was now Defenseless, and his other face-down had been nothing more than a bluff. What's more, Legendary Fiend and the Sword of Dark Destruction it had been equipped with were both now banished, further restoring Senji's life points.

    Senji: 2700

"Now, i'll activate double summon!" Senji declared, placing a card in the last slot available in his spell and trap card zone. "Now, even though i've already used up my normal summon, i can do it one more time!" He called, pulling a card from his hand. "I tribute my D.D.scout plane to summon Helios Duo Megistus! And since double summon and scout plane are banished, i gain 1000 more life points" As he cleared away one card and replaced it with another, a large orb of flame appeared, followed by a much smaller one orbiting it. Below was a bundle of bandages, wrapping around nothingness. They were arranged in the shape of a heavyset woman with a body proportionate so that the orb of flame was her head."

    Helios Duo Megistus
    Lv: 6
    Atk: ?
    Def: ?

    Senji: 3700

"Now, the Helios cards are kinda special. Their attack is determined by how many monsters are banished. Duo, gets 200 attack and defense for every one of them" Senji explained the card, as the attack counter on Helios rose

    Helios Duo Megistus
    Atk: 1600
    Def: 1600

"However, She's not sticking around for long. From my hand, i tribute her to special summon Helios Trice Megistus!" Once again Senji wiped away a card on the field and put another in it's place. This monster was very similar in appearance to it's predecessor. Three slender female figures made of bandages, all with a sun like object for a head. "This is the final Helios monster. Instead of 200, it gains 300 for each monster banished. Which includes, Duo Megistus. Speaking of which..."

    Senji: 4200

Marik simply stared in awe at Senji and his monsters. He was on death's door. Yet, in a single turn, the duel been completely turned in his favor. It was incredible. Was he...actually going to lose? No. He still had one more turn. Helios Trice Megistus was strong, but not strong enough to take him out all at once.

"Right now, there's nine monsters banished: Revival Jam, Masked Beast Des Gardius, Legendary Fiend, D.D. Scout Plane, Cyber Valley, Melchid the Four Faced Beast, Helios Duo Megistus, D.D. Destroyer, The Winged Dragon of Ra," Senji drew out the last card as if insulting Marik that his god card had been removed from play. Never able to be summoned due to his own error. "Nine times 300, that brings it up to 2700!"

    Helios Trice Megistus
    Lv: 8
    Atk: 2700
    Def: 2700

The Golden Haired man had been silent this whole time, a small smile creeped it's way over his mouth as Senji dueled. Something about him...There was a fire in his eyes. A fire that refused to be smothered out. A light among the shadows. "Do it." The man spoke in a deep voice, telling him to carry out the attack. Senji nodded and obliged, extending his hand outward to declare it.

"Go! Primordial Nova!" Senji called out the name of the attack. The three women of bandages encircled Marik and each let out a burst of flame from the orbs of fire that were their heads. Marik cried out as the flames scorched him, draining away his life points. Unlike Senji, he had no way of regaining them.

    Marik: 1000

"It's not over yet you fool! I still have life points, and one more turn to end you!" Marik shouted angrily. He was enraged at the thought of losing. He couldn't stand it. Losing or the boy defeating him. His eyes were filled with hatred. A burning hatred for the one they gazed upon.

"Oh no you don't!" Senji called out, raising his last remaining card on the field.

"WHAT?!" Marik was shocked at what he saw.

"Go! Ring of Destruction!" The purple trap card rose up. Marik's doom was revealed. A metallic ring encircled Helios Trice Megistus, spouting flames in several directions. What Ring of destruction did was it wrapped itself around a monster on the field, destroyed it, and both duelists took damage equal it it's attack power. Except in this case, only one of the duelists would survive it. A bead of sweat dropped off of Marik's face, followed by an explosion. The explosion which destroyed Senji's monster. The final act in the duel.

    Senji: 1500
    Marik: 0

As the duel ended the shadows faded, as did all the cards on the field. Senji stood victorious and looked over at an unconscious Marik Ishtar, his cards laying scattered around him. "Well done." the golden haired man called out from behind him, congratulating him on his win. Senji turned around to get a closer look at him. He looked somewhat familiar yet he couldn't put his finger on it.

"Who...are you?" Senji asked him. The man seemed to be thinking about how to answer his question. Eventually he walked over to the unconscious opponent Senji had defeated. He rolled him over with his foot and picked up a card off his chest. He slowly stood up and held it next to his face, showing the picture and himself side by side.

"No way..." Senji said, unable to believe what he was seeing.

    "You may call me Ra."

R was quiet for a moment. "Never ending you say? Everything comes to an end. I will one day come to an end, as will you. Nothing is never ending." The heartless said in a deep, emotionless voice. "If you choose to join us in the war, i have no objections. Time is racing toward us, until the lights arive. If you heed my every order, you might survive. The reason i need to restore the cornerstone in the first place is because my subordinates didn't listen..." R said to the nobody, trying to drive through the fact that organization was a key part in victory, "Come then, There was a computer back in the other room, it should be the central control panel for this pod." R said, slowly walking out into the other room. He was surprised by what he saw, but didn't show it and remained emotionless as ever. "Rexitus. What are you doing here?"

"If I'm successful in restoring the stones, i'll go on a search for the other two." R began. He paused, hesitant to tell him the rest. He could sense that this man hadn't been using the fullest extent of his power during their fight, then again...neither had R. He figured that whatever may happen, he'd be able to clean up the mess. "Once the completed eternity stone is in my grasp, I'll use it to win the war...If possible, doing so with minimal loss of life. An overwhelming display of force can end it quickly." R explained. When he said with minimal loss of life, he didn't just mean on his own side. If he could win the war without killing the lights, he'd gladly do so. However, he wasn't set on some idealistic future. If worse came to worst and that proved impossible, he'd kill the lights to win.

"Have you ever heard of the cornerstone of light?" R asked. "It resides in Disney Castle, warding off darkness and intruders. Or at least...it used to." R said, taking out the cornerstones from his pocket, revealing to him it was in his possession, along with another similar to it. . "Not many know of it's origins. It was one of four pieces of an incredibly powerful object known as the eternity stone, fought over in the keyblade war long past. These are two of it's pieces. However..." R added on. "They've been stripped of their power, by fools who didn't know what they were meddling with. They drained away it's power and fragmented it into several pieces." The heartless paused, gazing up at the pod before him. "I've been told that this holds the key to piecing it back together..." He held up the cornerstones, as they left his hands and floated into the pod, closing the door behind them. "I hope they're right."

"As you wish. You may accompany me." Said the heartless unfeelingly. He said he could wield the darkness...Wielding the darkness was one thing, but did he truly comprehend it? So few did...Only time would tell. R silently continued into the room of the mansion. On the table in the center, etched in yellow crayon, were three circles, with a border around them. One was empty, while the other two contained symbols. "Fill in the third..." R said quietly to himself, Recalling the old wise man's words. He ran his finger in the pattern of the shape meant to be filled in, leaving a trail of darkness and acting as a writing utensil. He stepped back once he'd finished, and the floor vanished, revealing a stairway down into a dark blue room filled with electronics. "And a stairway will be revealed." He said, completing Ansem the wise's words. Descending the stairs, R proceeded through the rooms of the basement. Along the way, he saw a computer with several monitors, no doubt the central controller for all these machines, and some sort of device emitting a beam of light which ended halfway above the ground and formed a ball. Entering a hallway, R took note of several pods, resembling flowers not yet in bloom. He ignored them and brushed past, to follow Ansem's instructions exactly. He needed the pod in the white room. The door at the end of the hallway lead to this. The room was solid white, pure and untainted by any other color. R stood out in the room as his dark clothing contrasted it. It was empty aside from a larger version of the pods outside, sharing their color. That was what he needed.

R was quick enough to react in time to avoid a direct hit from Gexln's attack, but not the attack entirely. A semi-deep cut was left on his shoulder. R felt the pain of it, but there was no blood. As a heartless, he had no blood running through his body. Within was nothing but darkness, darkness that seeped out of a the wound in blood's place. Ignoring the injury for the moment, he quickly spun around to behind Gexln and held his hand up to the back of his head, a dark firaga charged up in his palm. "Do you wish to continue?" R asked, assuming he could guess what would happen if he gave the wrong answer.

Beuce was a bit upset that the king had ignored him, but forgot about it entirely when an ingenious (or at least he thought it was) idea struck him. He walked over to sapphire casually. "Sapphire! Heeeey" He said in a friendly tone. "Think you could do me a little favor?" He asked then began whispering something in her ear, inaudible to the rest of the group.

"We're off to our base of operations, to see the king." Emerald told Lysa, then began inspecting the ship. It was so far improved, one could hardly tell it was the same ship. Likely so many parts had to be replaced, it barely was. "Wow Cid. You did a great job on this! I guess that's why they call you the best." She said smiling at Cid.

"Oh? Something about that angers you does it?" Xindai said, sensing his will to fight at the mention of the word "Xehanort" "Well, i suppose i have been away for a long time. Lets test my skills then, shall we?" He said, pulling out a small object with three long curved blades on it, making a spiral. He gave it a toss, propelling it at intense speed toward the armor, using his powers of the mind, specifically telekinesis, to manipulate it's motions as the deadly razor flew at his opponent.

Beuce turned to the heartless he defeated and yelled to the heart that was once contained by it. "Yeah! What! Byatch!" He called out as he moved his head side to side, snapping on the opposite side and making a Z shape with his four snaps. "Uh! You got nothin' on us!" Beuce yelled out, finishing his gloating. It was then he realized he felt a surge of power flowing through his body. "Whoa...So that's what leveling up four times at once feels like"

Except this time when he delivered the swipe, he circled around for another immediately after. and again, unleashing a flurry of dark cuts against Gexln.

As there was time between his attacks, R had plenty of reaction time to dodge the Dark Firaga. After he had dodged, he landed gracefully on the railing above. "I seek to restore something that was lost. The means to do so lies within this mansion." He answered before sending a dark firaga of his own at the man below, expect this Dark Firaga was the variant that split into several smaller versions when approaching it's target. After the Dark spell left his hand, he flew off once more, circling around Gexln and trying to slash at him from the back
