The man shook his head. "They don't get it." He reappeared next to Vecked. "We are inseparable, you and I. Though I do go where you go, not vice versa..." *** "Vecked wasn't ever exactly our enemy," Xardius said. "Or at least he hasn't been for a quite a while. We've each been doing our own things, and if we cross paths every now and then..." He shrugged. "Wing likes Vecked. As a friend. He'd defend him if he wanted to." "Now as for the UPA," Xardius said. "They've never actually been our enemy, but they've been trying to manipulate us for over a year now. They've failed because they've always tried force...Now they're trying to use us under the guise of a contract, but they've set this up good. Lexx is smart. He got on our good sides by promoting us and saying we should be heroes, and all that. He got everyone convinced he really liked us, then he offers us a super contract in which he gives us money. In fact, he's going to tell us what to do, and I read through the contract just now. There isn't a nice way of breaking the deal. In fact, it all gets rather sticky." "It's easy to enter, but it's horrendous to get out," Xardius concluded. "All in all, I feel that they're just trying a way to control us again...this time through persuasion and suck-up tactics." "Besides," Xardius grumbled. "I could fix your eye if I had an hour or so. You just have to ask..." EDIT OOC: Yes Pirate, I remembered, I just forgot again... BIC: Scourge wiped sweat from his forehead. "Thank you, Tul Raijin. See if you can find Eclipse. I imagine he'll have your next assignment, though I think you should probably take a couple of days off to rest." Picking the cage up, Scourge walked away, the Virus in tow.
The man watched them take Vecked through the portal, then disappeared...reappearing where Vecked was in the Sora system. Two quick jabs later, and the UPA agents were unconscious. "I can't move you myself," the man said. "Well, I suppose it can't hurt to let them all come through and have me beat them one by one. They can't see me anyway...And even if they could, they wouldn't understand..." *** Xardius walked up to Nulix. "I just got a message from Wing. The UPA's got Vecked. And they weren't all too happy with Wing for taking him away from them. It seems the UPA is already acting like we're under contract..." "Things are getting sticky," Xardius muttered. "Surgery from the UPA would be costly...and I don't mean through money..."
The man stared at Vecked, then began to laugh. "It is good to be on the outside for a change..." he said, staring at Vecked. "Then I can tell you face to face: You convince yourself that what Enigma said isn't true, because deep down you know that if it is true, you're just as worthless as everyone claims. Deep down you're just nothing, like everyone else. You're garbage." "So, instead of facing that outcome, you deny it, and believe that in denying the truth, it will become truth. Your truth is the only truth. You believe your rules are the only rules. You're deluding yourself with your own power, hiding behind a facade, a shadow. I won't stick around much longer, waiting for you to stop hiding," the man said, leaning back in his chair. "You don't even know who I really am, do you?" *** "Hmm, this is interesting," Tera Roth said. "First step out of the gummi, and we meet a Brotherhood member..." "Let's have a party," Tyre said. "I'll grab the chips," Highwind said.
OOC: Expendable...? Not at the moment...Except for maybe some stupid evil goons...Brotherhood goons... Actually, do you want to discuss how to get new members involved? I came up with an idea, but I'm not sure it will work at all.

"Actually, it's the UPA's ship, and by now, they've realized that we're not heading to the right destination," the man said. "They can't track the ship because I'm suppressing the tracking devices. I suggest you deal with me for the moment; you have for years anyway." Turning back to the wheel, the man reverted out of hyperspace. "The UPA is obviously after you, Vecked, and now you know the entire truth behind Scourge, Xardius, and Kingdom Hearts itself. What are you going to do?"
"How much do you want to bet we think nothing alike?" the man asked. "I'm always in the mood for gaining cold hard cash...I guess that's the Nulix in me..."
"We are similar people," the man said, blatantly ignoring Vecked. "In fact...you could say we think exactly the same..."
"You're awake, that's good," the man said, turning to look at Vecked, his dark eyes peering intensely at him. "Think of this as a 'you owe me,' OK?" *** Xardius shrugged. "Go ahead, I'll be right behind you, I just...wanna...grump...* Climbing back underneath the gummi, his upper torso disappeared.
OOC: I would have just let them take Vecked but then I thought of something cool... BIC: Xardius shrugged. "All right, then...I'll follow you guys in a second, if you're going to go test your ships..." OOC: I'll be back in a second.
The man quietly slid into the truck, er, gummi, without anyone hearing, seeing, or otherwise noticing his presence in ANY way, coldly knocked out the driver, and began driving the gummi away... Without glancing backwards, he exited the atmosphere and began the long warp to his destination... The man had dark skin, dark eyes, and dark hair... *** Xardius continued customizing his gummi, but then remembered something. "Hey, Nulix, your eye!" Xardius said, standing up from underneath his gummi. "Aren't you half blind?"
Xardius shrugged. "I'll write one up sometime before the race ends. Just don't sign anything Lexx gives you until then..." OOC: Gotta go. See you guys later. I won't be on tomorrow, FYI.
"On the other hand," Xardius said, climbing out of the ship and heading for the back, spinning a wrench in his hands. He climbed inside the exhaust and began tinkering in there too. "In the short term, he can't make us do anything we don't want to...It's after the war that I'm worried about. So, if we form a pre-contract to extract from him what the contract would entail, we can probably get quite a bit of cash...Which I'm sure you'll love, Nulix..."
"One thing I've learned from living, Nulix," Xardius chuckled. "Never trust anyone offering you money...not even your own mother." "Lexx is doing what's best for him," Xardius shook his head. "Before we accept his offer, I think we should wring out of him just what it entails."
"So," Xardius said, changing the subject after a moment. "What are you working on?"
"Really?" Xardius asked. "I heard about some kids who had won the tournament there..." "Listen, Nulix, this is probably gonna end up a pretty dirty competition, so watch your back," Xardius said. "People could try to take you out while you're in the race, and out of the race. You'll have to take them out in the race before they can do it to you, and out of the race...well, you're warned. They'll probably give some big shot rule that there can't be any foul play, such as sabotaging another person's ship, or maiming another driver, but still..."
"Driving like you mean it," Xardius said from inside his ship, where he'd frowned and begun messing with the control system, "is a skill I have acquired over the years. How about you?"
OOC: I'll only be on for 45 more minutes, then I gotta do homework, XD. BIC: "Thanks, Nulix," Xardius said. "Though I like that yours is small...Of course, I probably wouldn't fit in it." Putting the provided tool box back on the nearby desk, he climbed into his gummi. "I'll follow you guys to the simulation area thing..."
OOC: Gummi, sorry...XD; and as Azull said, Enigma does things for his own reasons, and no one knows what those are... "Yeah," Xardius grunted from halfway inside his engine. "I definitely need to test those modifications. This thing was pretty easy to modify..."
OOC: Dragon Treader HT-45? I'll make a nickname for it. BIC: "Twin engines, dragon-based design, incredibly fast, but large...hence the treader name," Xardius said, eying the ilium ship. "I'll name it the Dueling Dragons." Grabbing some paint cans, he began spraying... When he was finished, the two snarling dragon heads were completed. "Oh, I'm good," Xardius said. "Now to modify..." OOC: By the way, how'd everyone like my plot with Xardius?
