"Dude, you are so shallow," Highwind said from the cell phone, which Xane had forgotten to hang up. "And you're paying the phone bill."
"No sweat," Xardius said, revving the engine as they sat down. He pushed off and put in the coordinates for Iceburg. "Just promise me you won't get kidnapped anymore..." He smiled, to let her know he was joking. "But I'm sorry...I wasn't sure about your situation...so I decided to give you a time limit of three days...I'm sorry that I didn't come get you sooner...Had I known..." He sighed. "It doesn't really matter." Just another person I've let down, he thought to himself.
Xardius yanked the key off and unlocked the door, then helped Bellatrix out. "Well, you look hashed," Xardius said, sighing. "I'll have to fix you up when we get to Iceburg." Lifting a hand, he blew a hole in the roof and, picking Bellatrix up, jumped out and ran across the roof to his ship. He set her down. "Well, time to go," Xardius said, climbing inside the ship. EDIT OOC: Yes, Hidden, you're funny. I actually snorted when I read that Envy wrote "Serious skills" on the bottom of his list.
OOC: I forgot how funny you are, Hidden...This is cracking me up and my parents are looking at me weird... BIC: "Right, right," Xardius said, shaking the glass free. "I got news for you." Xardius moved almost too fast to see, his gunshot firing off before "E" could react, the bullet shattering her gun's barrel. "I'm better than that," Xardius said, walking up to Bellatrix and E. "This plot's over."
Xardius shrugged and stepped over the kid, letting the arrow slide past him. "See ya." He began to sprint, moving fast down the hall. Behind him, the hallway erupted in flames, an impassable wall of death in the form of flames. "Right...here...!" Xardius said, and he twisted, smashing a fist through the glass mirror and bursting through to the middle of the room in a shower of glass. Behind him, and around the room, fire became an impassable wall. "Bellatrix Swan," Xardius said, standing. "There you are." OOC: I have to speed it up, because I have half an hour before I have to leave... :(
"Sorry, kid," Xardius said as the sword came down at him. "But where Pride comes in, I've got you beat." He caught the sword in one hand, and smirked. "I'm sure you're bursting with insatiable pride," Xardius explained. "But you've got a problem. Pride is directly proportional to power...and your power compared to mine is so small as to be a small grain of sand compared to my mountain. So I have that much more pride than you. So beat it kid."
OOC: I did say it was temporary...Just have it not last longer than a few seconds. BIC: "Such strong language, Highwind," Tera Roth reproved. "What are you talking about?" Highwind said. "Those were computer noises." "Oh," Tera Roth said, sounding thoughtful.
"YOUR !@#%)(*&#% JOB!!!!" Highwind screamed, temporarily deafening Xane. Beyond that, he shoved darkness through the phone and blinded Xane temporarily. "There," he muttered, although Xane couldn't hear him. *** Xardius touched some water and it began boiling. "Nah, I can't do that," he said, idly walking through a puddle and forcing it to evaporate. "It makes me want to just burn something..."
"Erm, Xane, aren't you forgetting something?" Highwind asked.
OOC: I thought you were going to answer it, so waited. BIC: "Yo, Xane boy," Tera Roth drawled. "How's it hangin'?" "Give me the phone," came Highwind's voice, then louder. "Hey, Xane. I thought you might be in trouble right now." EDIT OOC: Sorry Hidden, didn't see your post... BIC: Xardius poked one of the aqua eyes...
Xardius was long gone; why wait for an infinite list to end? But he left a snicker bar. *** Xardius continued to walk down the passageway towards Bellatrix, getting rather close.
OOC: I'll post again when he finishes, Hidden. Meanwhile... BIC: Xane's phone rang.
"OK!" Xardius nodded. "So let's start by listing what you're envious for. You put your list there, I'll write my list over here; when you're done, let me know and we'll compare. Whoever's list is longer, wins. We'll number them to make it fair. Ready? Go!" Xardius walked over to his spot and began writing in the dirt.
"Let me guess, you're really not that in your real form; you're a giant ugly beast," Xardius said, making an obscure reference to some manga or other. "Never mind. Tell you what: I can either beat you up and leave, or we can play a game. If I can prove I'm more envious than you, you'll leave me alone. How does that sound?"
Xardius climbed out of the ship, and headed for the warehouse, which was close. Entering, he blinked as he saw himself reflected. "I need to shave," he said, looking closely. "Wait a sec, no I don't. I just did." Shrugging, he began walking forward, using the link with Bella's soul to guide him, idly humming to himself. OOC: It seems Xardius is not afraid of a spooky hall of mirrors, XD. I didn't know until now. EDIT: Ack, Hidden! BIC: Xardius nearly jumped out of his skin, but managed not to, because that would have been messy. He didn't turn around because he figured if he did, no one would be there. So he shrugged, yawned, and kept walking.
OOC: Right, and Xardius (being the idiot that he is), forgot to tell you he was leaving. So it makes sense. BIC: Xardius waited for Hidden, who he didn't know personally, to put more plot online so he could do something other than stare at his feet, and fly through hyperspace. OOC: Always need a fourth wall shattered. EDIT OOC: OK, you did it. BIC: Xardius braked as he neared Bellatrix's soul, and put the cloak on. Moving at roughly a speed that wouldn't be noticed as anything but a strong wind, Xardius maneuvered near the building where Bellatrix was and landed. Xardius waited a few moments to see if anyone noticed him...
Xardius shook his head. "And about not knowing where Bellatrix is...You've definitely got another thing coming." He checked his watch. "All right, I'm leaving. Be back with Bellatrix soon. I'd take Nulix but he's not around at the moment. Maybe he'll hijack into my ship..." OOC: Leave that open for Nul. BIC: Xardius walked out of the room, and down the stairs, tapping on his cell phone. Within a few moments, his old Phoenix ship roared down and he climbed in. He waited for a few minutes, in case Nulix wanted to get on, then blasted off, typing in the coordinates he had already decided on. He hit the warp button and went into hyperspace...
"Perhaps not," Xardius said, pulling rope from somewhere with his free hand, "but that's not really the reason I'm tying you up." "Like it or not, messengers always get the worst end of the deal: they're not trusted by the receivers, they're used by their employers, and they often find messy ways to end up dead. I can't have you running around, because I'll probably find you in a ditch somewhere if you're simply mistaken, and if you are deliberately lying, I won't ever see you again if I let you go." He shrugged and tied her to a chair. "Just get comfortable. And don't worry. It's not like we're going to torture you for information. I already know where Bellatrix is." "So..." he said, turning to Xane. "You watch her, I'll go get Bellatrix."
Xardius looked at Xane and nodded. "Well, we're thinking about tying you to a chair..." Xardius said seriously, grabbing her. "Because I know you're lying."
OOC: Oh, just that you're supposed to be here within three days, and you wouldn't be able to if you were gone; so we'd have to go pick you up, which could get messy...Glad to see you both! And I know how you feel Jaxed, I had that a few weeks ago... BIC: Xardius idly tapped his foot. He checked his watch. "OK, listen, up people, we have about three hours before they arrive or we go fetch them. I think Darxess is going to make it, but Bellatrix hasn't moved much." He sighed. "We're going to have to go get her...or I will. Maybe you'd best stay here and make sure Sybille doesn't try anything..."
