Mission Start! Battle of 1000 Heartless Beuce was glad to see Karina was cooperating, but the heartless were pouring in faster and faster. All four entrances were being swarmed. The south side had the worst of it, but it looked like the heartless there would be tough ones to bring down. Still, they needed to coordinate their attacks if they were going to have any hope. "Huey, Dewey, Louie. You need to climb up high and let us know what we're up against. Get on top of the bookshelves or something. Tell us how each of the groups are doing!" With one last swing, the supports collapsed. The massive telescope that Beuce intended to use to crush the heartless began tilting to the side until finally it began crashing downward toward the behemoths. It looked like the strategy would be a success, until other heartless intervened that is. Small floating heartless which looked as though they were made of metal packed a surprising punch. Massive beams of energy shot from their mouths and split the telescope in two, saving the behemoths. Their destructive power was deceptively high for such small heartless. He'd have to make sure to watch out for those. Before he had time to complain that the plan hadn't worked, the north side was swarmed even more heavily than it previously was. And that side was full of magic. "Karina, Stratos, you two stay here and help out east side. Base! Aden! You two as well! You four will make up the defense of this door! I'll do what i can to help you out but i need to get to the north side!" With those orders given, he began running at full speed back to the front entrance, he arrived there in time to be assaulted with a barrage of fire and ice spells. Each one wasn't all that powerful, but through sheer numbers they'd easily take him down if they hit. Gripping his keyblade by the hilt momentarily and moving into a high guard, he slashed through the spells, deflecting several of them back to their casters. That seemed to stun them momentarily. Although a few got through, he was able to press on through them. Upon reaching the horde, he used what was beginning to seem like his trademark move. Readying his keyblade for a moment, The wielder took a deep breath. He was glad Gilgamesh had taught him how to do this. Beuce vanished from sight. The impossibly fast strike cleaved through a great many heartless along the way. At least twenty shadows were taken down, possibly more. However, that was all it hit. Well, at least the grunt troops were easy to take out. Although...The behemoths seemed like another story. They'd require their entire team to take out one of them...Well, he just hoped that they could manage it. "From the looks of it, the horns are the weak points on the behemoths! Everyone get into position! Ananta and Kross, stay where you are on the west side! Rain, and Steel, go help them out! Cat, Glen, Raisor, D'daear, and Eon, you guys cover the south side! Hikaru, Kel, Luna, and Anora, You're all with me in the north side! If we can manage to clear out our respective halls, then we go and help out the others!" Beuce yelled out, barking orders for everyone to get into their strategic positions. From what he knew of each person, the groups would be rather balanced. This was going to be a long battle... He had always excelled in his craft, but he never wanted the attention that came with it. Against his wishes, he was promoted again and again until he was approaching as high of a rank as you can get. As a result of his dislike for the rank, he hates it when people refer to him formally, and wishes that people would speak to him as though they would a common soldier. Despite this, he accepts the responsibility of the rank and does his best to fulfill his duties. Other:

Beuce took a deep breath. They had about twenty minutes to get the mirror working. Twenty minutes they had to hold off a horde of all kinds of heartless. Ananta, meanwhile was trying to convince Karina of the power of friendship. He would have talked, but Glen pretty much summed up what he was about to say, so instead he simply made a ^ with his hands at Glen. It was then that Stratos approached, asking for a plan, along with Glen. Stratos had seen his tactical capabilities in the fight with Mim. They would have lost that if it hadn't been for the teamwork their plan had brought about. That was just one unit though, this was an entire army of things that were just as strong as the witch, if not stronger. Tossing the subject around in his head, he finally came to a conclusion. The promise of alcohol enticed him a bit, so if he wasn't over the edge for tryharding the situation, he was now. Stepping to the front, Beuce turned to address the other wielders. The time for arguments was over. They had to get the plan in motion or they wouldn't last long."Alright, if you guys want to fight, we really don't have much choice. But listen to me, we can win this. If you follow my orders to the letter. I don't care if you like me or not. Ignore who's saying it and just focus on what's being said. If you go against it, and we end up being overtaken, our blood is on your hands, got it?" He said in an uncharacteristically serious tone to all those present. Although, some were more heavily indicated than others for obvious reasons. The look on his face wasn't a carefree smile as it usually was, it was dead serious. His orders needed to be followed if they were going to survive this fight. "We've got about thirty seconds before they hit. Take a position. Guardians, front line. Warriors, stick right behind them. Mystics, in the back. You guys have the best range and support. Hunters..well, hunter, you'll be roaming along with me. Go through and help whoever needs it. Split up into teams to cover all the entrances." 10 seconds. Beuce ran to the front entrance, which was the largest and would likely be laid siege to the most. He summoned his keyblade and took an unorthodox stance which he hadn't taken so far. Instead of holding his keyblade by the handle, he held it by the guard. Where the keychain connected to the weapon was pressed against his palm. Since he was a warrior, yet also a mock-mystic, he could fit multiple roles rather well. He intended to make good use of both of them. 5 seconds. Everyone had to get into their positions quickly. He could hear the thud of behemoths shaking the ground as they stepped. 4, 3, a crash was heard, a few seconds early. It was a pretty good estimate as to their arrival time, but it couldn't possibly have been exact. As expected, the front had the largest assault force. Yet, there were several entrances around the library which needed heavy defense. Most notably the eastern entrance. Three behemoths all at once poured through. There was no way that the squad could hold off that kind of attack. With rather quick thinking, he shouted out to Karina, asking for aid. "Karina, you're with me! Help me out here! Stratos, cover us!" With the full brunt of his running ability, he raced to the back end of the room. He gave an apologetic glance at Seiza. "Sorry about this..." With that, he initiated his plan to take out the behemoths on the east side entrance. With a forceful swing, he began knocking out the supports of the enormous telescope that held it in place.
The fight was intense from the second it started. As R crafted his darkness into constructed weapons, he made a different one with each attack. I, meanwhile, manipulated his very body into an eerie white substance somewhere between a solid matter and free energy. Blades a spikes sprouted from his arms long enough for an attack, only to vanish back into their owner. The two halves of the world seemed to be evenly matched, the sounds of their clashes echoing throughout the empty abyss. I swiped a glowing claw at R's stomach, but the heartless managed to dodge and counter with a swift strike from a black spear. With inhuman flexibility, I bent backwards to avoid the stab. From that position, his knee spiked outward, knocking R far back into the air. Wasting no time in taking advantage of the opening, I's clawed arm extended via the white darkness and grabbed R's shirt. Retracting his arm, he pulled R toward him. Yet again with flexibility no normal human could hope to achieve, he swung his heel up and around his body, attempting to connect it with R's jaw. Having fallen victim to this tactic once before, R was a bit better prepared to counter it. Constructing a gladius of darkness, he wedged it in the path of I's attack, stopping it in its tracks. With a burst of dark energy, R blew back all around him, forcing I back. "Do not think me so weak as to fall for that tactic again." I chuckled, seeming to acknowledge that R had gotten quite a bit stronger, as though that thought amused him. Thrusting his fingers into the ground, I extended them into massive, bending talons that swirled beneath their standing ground and aimed for R from beneath. Meanwhile, a similar action was performed with his back, with the talons coming from above. Converging on their target, an attack like this would be fatal if it hit. Beuce decided it was about time he took the stage and started his trial. He walked along the station of awakening, examining each door. The trial of wisdom, the trial of courage, and the trial of strength. Beuce, however, interpreted these as "Pussy", "Sentimental", and "Badass" respectively. Naturally, he chose the third option. Putting his hand on the door, he pulled it open. Light filled his vision, and when it faded, he was in some sort of stone room. Nothing overly special about it, aside from the man standing in it. In it, was the one person he never hoped to see again...Himself. "Jeez way to make it sound emo Ren..." "Sorry." "Eh. We should probably deal with this guy." The man in question was indeed himself, but the older version. He looked rather annoyed, rubbing his temples as though he had a headache. "What's wrong with you?" "I just came from another trial....Tell me, does the phrase "Get daddy another beer" and throwing the bottle at the person's head translate to "I love you" in Atlantian?" "Don't think so." "I didn't think it did." "Wait....Atlanti- You mean you can-" "Break the fourth wall? Yeah. For the purpose of this trial, i've regained my greatest strength. I'm just like you again. Let's do this...Rienzel" Beuce staggered backwards. He...He had his own Rienzel. That meant he would be godmodded as all hell. This was going to be a difficult battle if there ever was one. The R replica staggered backwards at the attack. It was certainly a strong attack, and had clipped his shoulder. Grunting slightly at the pain, a black liquid trailed down his arm, the blood of a heartless. R backed off, getting out of the immediate range of Gexln. Continuing to fight him head on at the moment wouldn't end well for him. R watched Gexln closely, waiting for an opening. He was poised to counterattack the second one did open up.
Beuce put Huey and Glen down after Zantetsukening them through the door and down the hall a fair ways. "Now don't make me go back and get you." He left out the part where Zantetsuken had a long cooldown and even if Glen did decide he wanted to go back and face the behemoths, Beuce couldn't really do much to stop him. His attention was called a bit further into the hall by a voice calling out for everyone. Staring at the source of the voice, he realized it was Kross. It didn't take long to figure out why he wanted their attention. There was some sort of mirror. He could tell just by looking at it that it was magic. If he had to guess, he'd say it was some sort of escape route for this kind of situation. Good job thinking ahead, order. However, certain people didn't exactly feel like escaping. Letting out a sigh, Beuce headed over toward Karina. Given that she ran down the hall, he had kinda hoped she was smart enough to know when retreat was the right option. Apparently not...Welp, time to put his social skills to good use. Ananta was the first one to confront her, trying to talk some sense into her. Pfft. Karina, listen to logic. Hah! Man he never pegged Ananta for a joker but it seemed like he was wrong. "Don't think logic's gonna cut it there 'nanta." He stated, shortening her name by leaving off the "A". He had a perfect plan to get Karina to stay here while the mirror was being repaired, but it was risky. In fact, there was a good chance it could get him killed. "All or nothing...." Approaching Karina closer, he raised his hand, and performed what was undoubtedly the ballsiest action that had ever been heard of. Closing his grip, in his palm he felt a soft and squishy lump of fat. Particularly one attached to Karina's chest. He couldn't say he didn't enjoy swiping a boob honk off of her. She wasn't exactly a pain to they eyes. Every other part of the body maybe, but the eyes? Nah. There was a deadly silence in the air for a moment. Those watching likely either had their jaws dropped in shock, or were slowly backing away to get out of the inevitable blast zone that would envelope the immediate area. "...Welp i'll be seein' ya gotta go bye!" Just before running off, he decided if he was going to go in, may as well go all in. He reached his hand around and slapped her butt. After that, if he'd been there to see that boy run, Usain bolt would've been like "Daaaayum."
Beuce looked around, and he had indeed drawn one of the longest straws. Thus, he was entitled to take the Mark of Mastery. Needless to say, he was kinda pissed when some ****** bag walked up and was all interrupting the test! He was about to go all Leroy Jenkins on his ass, but judging from how Karina crashed into an invisible wall, he guessed it probably wouldn't have worked too well. Looking over to Braum, Biker Vanitas, and Balmung, he watched one of the apprentices get wrestled down. Wow. If the other apprentices were anything to go off, that was pretty impressive. They were told to run, and to enforce that order a massive horde of behemoths was summoned. "That probably translates to please in some third world country." Beuce said to himself with a chuckle. However, some of his companions didn't take too kindly to such a nice request to leave. Karina ran up and smacked one of the behemoths. Lot of good that did. I mean, she was smacking to foot! That's not it's weak point! I mean, there's a freaking target symbol over the horn. if you lock on, that's what it locks on to. Not that hard to figure out. Noticing her attack had no effect, Karina grabbed a random stranger and ran away. "Well then..." Beuce was about to run himself, but he stopped. Two things were left here. One was Huey, the duck which had led them to their destination. He had to be saved as well. Plus...He saw it in Glen's eyes...He had no intention of running. Walking over, he picked up Huey and placed a hand on the back of Glen's head. After receiving a puzzled look, Beuce explained. "I'm holding you so you don't get whip lash" That didn't really clear things up. "Whip Lash" And with that, Beuce Zantetsuken'd down the hall, Glen in tow.

I always pictured Kingdom Hearts as more of an entity than a place, honestly. Although i suppose it could be a world unlocked in KH3. Would make for a nice final world, like TWTNW or End of the World.

The words Kross dragged into place began to glow with a brilliant white light, enough to make him cover his eyes. Soon enough, he was back on his station of awakening. The other two doors had vanished, but the wisdom door remained the same. Across it, an impressive array of multicolored lights shone. Unexpectedly, the door shattered. The pieces of it began floating, spiraling around each other, until finally they collected back into one solid mass. This time, it was quite a bit smaller than a door. It was a single piece of metal. Although, without even touching it one could tell it was no ordinary piece of metal. In it alone was more power than most could ever dare to dream of possessing. Levitating over into Kross' hands, the translucent stairway began acting up. Each step flashed with a light and became solid, able to be stood on. The path to the X-blade's mold was open to him. R himself didn't pay much mind to the others. He had confidence that they could finish their trials without fail. He stood between the three doors. He had some idea of what awaited beyond each one, but what he ended up deciding was the trial of power. Marching over to the blade-engraved door, he pushed it open. Light flooded his vision, until he could see naught but white. As sight returned to him, he was standing in some sort of no place. He could feel ground beneath his feet, although none could be seen. All there was in any direction was a dim grey sky, full of clouds. If R's personality had an appearance, this is exactly how it would look. Vast, yet empty and lifeless. Raising his head, he easily identified the one which would be his trial, his test of strength. "How fitting, that you would be the one i face. How i wish we could have met again under different circumstances..." R said quietly. The figure was one he never believed he would see again. Clad entirely in white, he was pale and possessed bright blonde hair and piercing sky blue eyes. He wore a coat not dissimilar to R's, in a similar color scheme to his facial features. Many years ago, he had battled him and struggled immensely. It was this man that taught him the value of life. It was by his will that R first sought to build a world of perfection. This man...Was R's nobody. "Indeed." The man said before letting out a heavy, theatrical sigh. "But as you know, with every rose must come thorns. I believe you can guess why i'm standing before you. I am the trial to test your strength. In order to claim your fragment, you must defeat me in combat." "If that's the way it must be...Then so be it. To protect what is truly important, i will overcome you." "You've changed...The fear you once kept in our heart has disappeared...Replaced by something else. Ahah...I see...She must be important to you. You were once known as the rage of the shadows. Yet, you've turned into such tranquil darkness. Love is a mysterious power, is it not?" "Enough." R interrupted. The look in his eyes was unmistakable. He had the intent to kill. If that was what the trial demanded, then that was what would happen. "There is one reason you have returned to being. Let us fulfill that purpose." "As you wish, R." "Then let's begin...I" The Replica of R was certainly not a hollow shell of the real thing. As he let himself be tripped by the leg sweep, he too attempted to stagger his opponent by driving a balled fist into the back of his kneecap. A mere second before hitting the ground, the skintight darkness which appeared as tattoos emerged from his skin, and he took flight. On his hands grew clawed gloves. It was this technique which had defeated Gexln in the mansion the first time. As quickly as he had retreated, R's manifestation flew back into the fray. Slightly above Gexln, R spun 360 degrees, with bow this arms outstretched. His right hand was aimed to cut Gexln's chest, and his left clawed through a dark corridor, attacking his back simultaneously.
