The Great Gatsby was only amazing once we looked and analysed it- that made it much more interesting. The play is quite good if not bizarre.

I don't just study Bristish books xD We are using the play "A Streetcar named Desire" if you've ever heard of that- well it's American. And last year we studied "The Great Gatsby" and "The Catcher in the Rye"

Of course, we have our fair share of Shakespeare, William Blake and Austen.

It's not that bad Cat, I'm not worried about the time frame for this piece of work it's the quality and I've had to analyse the book all by myself with no insight by teachers which was quite difficult. But of course we all have our own horrible pieces of work.

People were moaning about the splits and series 8. It's good we have a Xmas special this year and series 8 next year (although it's mot officially confirmed yet, I don't doubt for a second the BBC won't recommission it) and I personally don't mind a split. I also think the amount of work that has gone into the show is enormous and to expect series 8 quickly is just not right, I can wait for my Who because I want it to be quality. I also don't mind the split as long as it has a purpose. One thing I do miss though is the double episodes, I hope they make more of a return in series 8.

Yeah, the main concern was the medicine they were fed was carcinogenic to humans. Of course it also means it's harder to trust food companies as how do we know what they say we are eating is what we are actually eating?

Put yourself in an uncomfortable position- cant sleep if you are uncomfortable. Of course if you become so sleepy then anything is comfortable....

I think it's very important... for most people. I for one rely on it for an education so I can go on to be a Doctor which requires good grades. My life has become a journey about letters and effort grades so I can achieve and get into University but that is just me personally. I also believe it's important to help build a social understanding of the world as that is where you meet a lot of new people and make new friends and generally learn about the world but of course school isn't the only place this can happen. Sometimes it can be a waste of time but I do believe most of the things most of the teachers do are to help the student improve and do the best they can.

The main problem with this is, not everyone needs a school education to do what they want to do. They could devote their life to something like art (which is taught in schools but can be done without) and do brilliantly and become very successful. Our social experiences define us and how we react to others and perhaps how we express ourselves in artwork or other creative pieces. An example in Vincent Van Gough who had a terrible life where everyone revered him for being mad which in turn drove him mad but after his death people began to see the beauty in his art. What I'm trying to say is an education isn't necessary for everyone to be and do what they want in life but for others it is.

Another example, my Dad hated school when he was younger because he was bullied by this girl (his mother always taught him never to hit a girl so he couldn't retaliate) and so he hated it and didn't do as well as he could have but as soon as he left school he went into catering and became a highly successful manager of his own restaurant by age 18. Of course, school must have taught him a lot about life and social situations which would have helped his social development but school isn't required for these things especially.

So, it basically depends on the individual. If someone is just lazy though and doesn't work in school because they feel their life will just fall into place then they should concentrate more.

I am very excited and very glad Matt Smith isn't leaving any time soon, I wonder how long he'll go for, will he beat Tom Baker's 7 years? He's my favourite Doctor so I would be happy for him to ^^
