How is there not a thread for this? I saw this today and I was just amazed by it! I think the soundtrack was exceptional, it fit so beautifully despite the fact the film is set in the 1920s. I thought it followed the book to the letter (with a few minor alterations but nothing huge) and it represented all the themes that I studied back when I looked at the book. The film itself brought out those emotions and concepts even more, I felt, which I why I loved this film and I would recommend going to see it. A beautiful story about a man who lives and breathes for this woman and how he just wants companionship in his warped ideas that money gets you that. Anyway, trailers(both because I like them both :3)! Definitely go and watch it if you get the chance.

The show won't end on 13 regenerations, there are so many ideas going around that could lengthen the show but they would never just throw it in the air like "Oh well, the Doctor is now dead, he has no more regenerations". I think the River theory works but also the fact that he faught in the time war means that the Time lords might have granted him more regenerations so he could live longer in the war. Of course there is also the idea that the Time lords were the one who stopped their people from regenerating past 13 and with them gone then there is nothing to stop them. Knowing Moffat, he may even come up with something more whacky.
This thread is fine, it's about current events- we are discussing it in that Doctor Who thread but that is for general discussion. This is news after all. Sad for Cat? XD She's not the only Whovian on this site. Anyway, I am incredibly sad about this news. I knew it was coming but I was expecting it at the end of series 8, I thought he was signed on for it but I'm guessing that was a hoax. The fans are getting restless and have already started speculating over who will be the next doctor. People are saying it should be a woman others are disagreeing, some are saying it should be an american actor, some are saying it should be David Tennant- I personally don't think it should be him as he wouldn't come back- he's the 10th Doctor and not the 12th and it wouldn't be right. I have nothing against Americans but this show is a British television show so I feel the actor should remain british but that's just my personal opinion. I think the female timelord is just people speculating, Moffat would never deny it as he's enjoying the concept of people speculating on crazy things as that is what he does to us. I could be wrong but I don't see it happening anytime soon. People are also saying the show will be ending soon as the Doctor has only 13 regenerations but the writers will always find a way of getting around that as the show won't end like that. Anyway, Matt Smith is my Doctor, he is the embodiment of what I imagine the Doctor to be- socially awkward, kind, quirky and energetic. He is such an amazing actor and I think he's shown that so much throughout just the last series alone. I know he'll go on to great things and it'll be nice to see him in new things like this new film he's in (How to catch a monster) and he's also made a directing debut which I would like to watch. He's a very talented actor and although I'm so upset that I was caught off guard- I'm not looking forward to christmas. But at the same time, a regeneration is exciting and I trust the producers will pick someone good like they picked Matt Smith and almost everyone doubted he would be better than Tennant. It'll be the same story and I know I'll like them as there isn't a Doctor I don't like but it'll just be getting used to them.

No, I think from what I've heard Clara is staying on for series 8. That was confirmed so that's fine.... I think, these things are in flux. I think it would be too soon for her to leave anyway, she's only really been introduced to us and now that we know the mystery behind her I doubt she'll be leaving any time soon. I hope they explore her mother a bit more and her lifestyle kind of thing. I hope she doesn't leave because I would just cease to be... xD

News that was supposed to be revealed at midnight UK time was leaked early. The Christmas special will see a regeneration of Matt Smith, I thought he'd signed on for series 8 but apparently not. I knew he was going to leave but at the end of next year- I've heard 2 different things- either he'll leave at the end of this year or he's staying on for series 8 and leaving around august next year. I don't know which yet but I really hope it's the later because I need a year to prepare for this ;-; I trust that whoever they find will be brilliant because the crew of the show know what they are looking for but Matt Smith is my Doctor and I am sad to see him go. This will also be my first regeneration and although I am excited I am also really upset. Of course he had to leave at some point because he has so many things he can do- the doors are open for him so it'll be good to see him do other things but still <3 SOURCE Unless this is just some HUGE rumour, I heard it has been confirmed by Smith himself but I am still hopeful that this isn't the case. EDIT: Nope. Confirmed by BBC. *faceplant 5eva*
