I can't express how excited I am for this xD Today has been covered in rumours about a costume reveal so I am happy to see it is here, I have been checking facebook religiously today. I was a little underwhelmed at the first sight but now that I have been staring at it for 40 minutes I absolutely love it. It's plain but I like it, the Doctor is an eccentric man but has great fashion sense here xD just like Capaldi himself. It makes a stark contrast to Eleven who was the complete opposite xD

I can see it now, I can really see his Doctor and I am blooming excited! I can't to see his first epic moment of triumph against the aliens or the first time we see him doing something exciting in the opening few minutes of an episode. EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS EXCITES ME!

I was hoping for just something to add to this like a scarf, not a Tom Baker scarf, a fashion scarf. I would also like to see whether his Screwdriver will change, I feel like it should because he's a new Doctor but I suppose we shall see. I LOVE HIS SHOES SO MUCH! I don't really know why, and it will be nice to see the Cosplayers as well :3 The one thing I don't really like is the top button done up, I have never really liked that fashion concept but I'm sure it will grow on me just like everything else has. I also hoped his hair would be longer as the Doctor because he has such beautiful hair but that's a minor gripe.

And here's to a new era!

Whatever you do, don't go see 12 years a Slave expecting not to be emotionally torn apart. If you don't mind being gutted alive by a film with your friends then go and see that, it was an exceptional film even if there were a few naked people and awkward sex scenes which didn't last long but were still awkward with your parents sitting next to you.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one who thought this...

Also, I saw the saddest sight today, two helium balloons, one "6" (or "9") and one "1" just floating across the sky. Either a 91 year old got too excited and let them go or some 16 year old didn't tie them up properly >:3 (02 19 or 61)

It bothers me that he wasn't locked up, yes he is a celebrity but that fact shouldn't excuse anyone. I admit, I don't know exactly why he was let off so easily, it may have been another reason but I am almost positive that this had some influence on it.

Teenage rebellion and stardom do not mix well, when you have all the money you can do it all, when you have status you feel like you are above the law but he is just another human. I hope he will learn his lesson and not be so reckless again and perhaps develop into a better role model. I wish he could learn his place quickly before anyone actually does get hurt.

Also, on a side note, it amazes me how eggs can cause $20,000 of damage O.o were they hardboiled or something?

I have heard a lot of people moan about his writing but never on these topics. I don't find he mistreats women in his writing and I also don't see where the lack of racial diversity comes from either. I am a fan of his work and in what I have seen there is a large diversity of ethic groups in the shows so if these criticisms are simply coming from his casting of the new Docctor then they seem a little unfair (a lot of people wanted a woman Doctor or a black Doctor) but I don't think his choice was particularly malicious against either group.

That is my take on it though xD In Sherlock S1E2 the whole episode is based on a Chinese smuggling group, and in Sherlock's hiatus he traveled the world which he shows. As for the women, I find they get in trouble but then so do the men so it's not really gender specific. There are also examples in Doctor who but I won't dig those out because I am lazy xD

Some people may disagree or say his writing is complex but I think it's genius in intertwining ideas and really surprising the viewers with the solutions etc. Especially in Sherlock which warrants the complex ideas more than Doctor Who as that is what you want, you want the smart deductions that make you think and catch you off guard. Anyway, ramble over :3 I think the series is brilliant, just the idea of Sherlock Holmes in modern society amuses me and I forget that he was originally from the 19th Century. Also, they are true to the canon of Sherlock Holmes (not really true to the books because they have been adapted a lot and spliced together, recreated to make something new) but that isn't a bad thing in any way. Yeah, I'd recommend them :3

You are right, I suppose it is up to me to save the world and set this right xD

So, thoughts on the whole series now that it has concluded?

    The Empty Hearse
I was greatly amused by this and really shows how Moffiss likes to incorporate the fans into their show, I feel like Anderson has become the fans personified in the show xD as we finally have the answer we have been dying to have for 2 years we have no need for our insane theories xD

I thought how he actually did it to be underwhelming but in the grand scheme of the episode, I felt like it didn't even matter, it was secondary to the reactions of Watson and the introduction of Mary. I love Mary. What a legend.

Also, I love how Sherlock's parents are played by Benedict Cumberbatch's real parents and their normality really contrasts Sherlock and Mycroft weirdness. I also really like the development of the brother's relationship throughout the series, like in this one you can see that they are similar but Sherlock, although more clueless about human nature, is less lonely because he has John, Lestrade and Mrs Hudson while Mycroft resides in the government with all his power being surrounded only by people who work with him. Like he doesn't really know what a relationship is and hides his solitude and loneliness so much that he doesn't even realise it himself because he has never known any different. Sherlock points this out and I think that point in the episode is quite nice, because it shows Mycroft outsmarting Sherlock in a "I'm your big brother, I'm better than you!" but Sherlock uses it to uncover how he is better than Mycroft because he has friends.

Another thing that was developed strongly in this episode was Sherlock's human side, when he's deducing and those thoughts fly into his head like "show off" which also shows how out of place he has become and how affected he is by John's rejection and perhaps is trying to impress others again.

    The Sign of three
This is easily my favourite episode of Sherlock ever! Brilliantly done, I love just everything about it, drunk Sherlock was hilarious and him trying to apply science to drinking was great xD and the format of Sherlock talking to all the girls online was done really well because it would be quite hard to do that nicely I think butthey managed it.

I thought the cinematography of it all was just beautiful and I loved the solution as well as the inclusion of the message from "CAM (Charles Magnessun from episode 3)" wishing them happiness on their wedding day and seeing how Mary's face drops.

I just want to know what "the sign of three" actually refers to- is it John, Mary and Sherlock or John, Mary and the baby? Either way, I liked that deduction and the speech was just brilliant. I don't think I have anything bad to say about this episode... I just love it.

    His last Vow
Although I really enjoyed this episode, I thought the ending wasn't very Sherlock, I was expecting some clever solution as opposed to just death but I do like how it shows how far Sherlock will go for John (therefore Mary).

The twist with Mary was nicely done, I didn't see it coming really but I still don't understand why she didn't just kill Magnessun when she shot Sherlock. I think this was explained but I need to rewatch this episode.

THAT DEATH SCENE! That was just beautiful, and it was nice to see the Mind Palace personified.

The cliffhanger was cool, I can't wait to see how Mariarty did it, I think this cliffhanger isn't as big as the last one which is nice because although it was nice theorizing for 2 years, it's nice to have a less strenuous cliffhanger for the hardcore fans xD It also makes me very happy that he comes back because his character was just too brilliant to die, I also like the idea that Moriarty is what the Master is to the Doctor, they will forever battle but neither will ever die. So the future is looking bright : D

Also, due to the success of series 3, BBC are pushing for more to be made rather quickly with the possibility of a christmas special! Of course, nothing confirmed yet but I would love that! It also means we only have about a year to wait for more.

My interpretation of it is what Fearless said basically, it happened but then was changed but because they experienced it they will remember it but in their timestream it will no longer happen that way. Time can be rewritten, it's exactly the same as in The girl who waited with Old Amy- that future was changed so never happened.

The TARDIS in TNOTD is the current desktop theme, that always bothered me because that meant no one would ever be able to change it in the future but now the timelines are all screwy they can. This does also mean the GI never went into his timeline and neither did Clara and this can explain why shadows of Clara won't pop up in the Doctor's future, the timeline she jumped into was up to 11 but not after it. Does this mean that "The Snowmen" and "Asylum of the Daleks" are all messed up now as well? I don't know xD

However, the thing that does throw a spanner into the works is seeing Capaldi in The Day of the Doctor. The events in that episode were events in the timeline where the Doctor dies at 11 and yet we see 12. This also leads to the conundrum of did the timelords give 11 a new cycle because they saw that he already had one or did that have nothing to do with it? xD

Also, I heard some rumours about series 8. Emphasis on rumours:

Firstly, Jenna Coleman's boyfriend, Richard Madden (Robb Stark in Game of thrones) has hinted about being in Doctor Who. There was another rumour about a male companion joining in on the TARDIS... I think it would be interesting but I don't know much about Richard Madden. SOURCE

These rumours I cannot find a source for them but I read them on a facebook page. They literally have no basis and could just be fan speculation but I thought they were interesting ideas even if they are completely fake:
    • Another episode in series 8 will contain a biotech institute that ends up making a dalek-cyberman hybrid. After thinking about this, I love the idea but how would it work- the Dalek would hate itself because it wasn't pure but the Cyberman part would want others to be like him so it could be interesting to see.
    • Another episode will be concerned with 12 looking for the origins of his regeneration (I guess this is the canon way of explaining Capaldi's previous roles in the Doctor Who world) where he returns to Pompeii. I would quite like to see this but of course they would also have to explain John Frobisher in Torchwood: Children of Earth who never met the Doctor so how would he know about his existence ergo how will that one be explained? My guess is Jack would have to come back and question it. These rumours were also accompanied with the "return of a fan favourite"... but that is just my thoughts.
