...that's not accurate at all. It never forgets the story it's trying to tell, none of the characters are there simply to move the plot forward, and the story never takes the backseat.

You have to understand the reason that movies constantly show off the action first, is to draw in as many audiences as possible, which unfortunately means showing them the flashy action stuff, because that's what appeals to a majority of younger American men.

You also have to keep in mind that some people are against this film simply because of the message it carries about certain social issues, like immigration, documentation, citizenship, healthcare, the wealthy 1% feeding off of the labor of the poor, etc. I've heard certain groups are actually boycotting the film.

    Film Elysium

Surprised there's not discussion about the movie yet :\

Anyway, saw it earlier today. Loved it. I was already excited due to loving director Neill Blomkamp's previous film District 9, and this did not disappoint me. Solid cast of characters that are all excellently acted out (especially Matt Damon and Sharlto Copley) with realistic and dynamic motivations, fast-paced plot that never seemed to drag on to me, not-so-subtle political/social commentary that is made bearable by executing it through cool-ass sci-fi weaponry, mechs, exo-suits, and a Halo-looking world, appropriate music (and where it needs to be, as well as none where there shouldn't be!), and best of all? IT'S NOT A SEQUEL/ADAPTATION/REMAKE.

My only gripes would probably be just wanting more time to really see the actual world of Elysium, like the social gatherings and stuff. Also, maybe just a little explanation for how the med bays in Elysium work? Probably unnecessary for what they're trying to achieve, but its just something a person like me gets curious about.

From one film lover to (hopefully) others, see this one.

The new one? I don't doubt it. Remakes of horror movies tend to be the worst remakes when it comes to films. The 1982 version of "The Thing" being the only exception.

AND I LIKED HITCHHIKER'S GUIDE ACTUALLY IT WASN'T AMAZING BUT I CHUCKLED AND ZOOEY DESCHANEL OK

For the second, someone with low self-esteem.

I actually thought it was ok, but as a film in general, not exactly a horror movie. Not GREAT, but ok. Felt more realistic than most ghost-based films, and none of the characters acted completely out of their character. Only disappointment for me was the finale not having enough actual horror.

I STRONGLY disagree with you. Horror films are only boring when you can tell what's going to happen, and how. That's why, to me, they're one of the hardest genres of film to get right. A film like "The Thing" (1982 version) shows the perfect amount of horror, suspense, mystery, disgust, and doubt meant to be honed in a horror film. It's just that, nowadays, film makers, at least in Hollywood, keep thinking horror is just gore, or ghosts. They don't understand how to get into people's heads.

If you do get the chance, watch the first three Digimon movies in Japanese, since the English version combined them into one and cut out a lot of content. They're called:

    Digimon Adventure
    Digimon Adventure: Our War Game!
Digimon Adventure 02: Hurricane Landing!!/Transcendent Evolution!! The Golden Digimentals

Sounds a lot like the training in Digimon World, which for that game, is a lot faster than battles/

It's not guaranteed that the Mega forms will be the very best versions of the Pokemon though. We don't know what stats will be affected, if any, just that some Pokemon change their abilities or types.

One thread on GameFAQs even explained that, with the info we have so far, Lucario holding a Life Orb is stronger in some ways than Mega Lucario (who has Adaptability: 2x STAB moves rather than 1.5x)

    New video

You only get to use their Mega Forms in battle, and it'll probably activate by holding a specific item. I think that balances out the possible buffs you get: trade-off the benefits of other items (say, Choice Scarf/Band/Specs, Leftovers, Focus Sash, etc.) for a new Ability, Stat boosts, or even Type change in Ampharos' case.

As much as I love the Adventure series, I'd much prefer an original story that has traditional monster breeding gameplay. Not to mention, Re: Digitize Decode is reported to have as many as 162 usable Digimon.

Though if the planets aligned at the right time, maybe we could even get a enhanced port of Digimon Adventure too on the 3DS.
