"Adena" Roku whispered from the palace stairs "you never did think ahead". She no longer needed him or wanted him so he wasn't going to save her even if he wanted to. Roku smiled towards the palace "Im glad you didn't forget about me princess If your going to escape you better do it now". He looked at Hotaru, "Don't worry buddy she hates me now which means one of her goals is to kill me so she will be fine" he looked at her necklace "Goodbye princess" and Roku rode off. He had to get far away from this city people saw him Fire-bend.
Roku heard yelling and some fire nation solders began running out of Ba Sing Se. Roku got up astonished he couldn't believe they were driving them back. He was no coward it was to risky to use his bending right now because he didn't want anyone knowing he was a fire bender but Roku still had his staff. He ran back in the city and found himself face to face with a squad of fire nation solders. "Kill the traitor" they shouted and fired a barrage of fireballs. "Not in this life time"yelled Roku easily dodging the fire and using his staff to knock the squad to the ground."You were saying" Roku asked the squad go to their feet and tired to escape through the gate. "I don't think so" Roku whistled and Hotaru came running smashing his head into the squad."good boy" he said getting on to his back "Lets go to the palace " Roku said

"Adena ...Im sorry" Roku picked up her fire crystal necklace. "Adena" he said as she was walking away "Do you remember my last mission my squad was to take care of a Earth nation village." "My squad killed every man woman and child and do you know why I betrayed them"."I had a sister she lived in that village" Roku said closing his eyes. "Im sorry ... goodbye princess" Roku said as he walked away tears in his eyes. Roku left the buring Ba Sing Se and returned to his campsite. Hontaru his Komodo Rhino was waiting. "Hey buddy" Roku said to him he looked at the fire crystal necklace "Someday I will give this back to her".Roku said "I know I will see her soon".
Roku ran past the burning buildings thinking of Adena. He was doing it again running away from her. "What has running away accomplished?" Roku yelled out loud. "Its time I let fate decide my path" he said to himself. He stopped running and turned around, he knew Adena was close behind him."Adena I missed you leaving you was the hardest thing i have ever done but it was something I had to do" Roku yelled "Im leaving it up to you Princess if you really hate me kill me where I stand or take me to the Fire-Nation and lock me up for eternity but I'm done running from you". Roku wiped tears from his eyes "If nothing else i"m still a Fire-bender so no more running". There was no use running Roku knew it now, no matter where he went he would always be a firebender nothing could change it. Now would the princess kill him or would they go back to the fire nation together?
"Adena ... what happened to you?" Roku asked "What happened to the cute princess I used to know what have you become?" Roku looked her in the eyes. "Do you hate me Adena? I didnt want to leave you but this isn't right" Roku took a deep breath "Im sorry" Roku said moving his hands into a Fire bending pose. Roku looked around the earth nation army would be coming soon and he could not let himself get arrested. He had to finish this another time. "Fine we will finish this somewhere else" Roku looked at her one last time "Come princess if you think you can catch me" Roku smiled and then began to run. Adena would not give up until caught him but he could use this against her. As he ran a few Earthbenders attacked Roku shooting rocks towards him. With a arm motion he burst the rocks into flames without stopping. He knew Adena would be right after him but she would not catch him. Would she forgive him for running away again he wondered.
Roku heard the screams and starting running. Dang it he thought he should be running away from the screams not towards them. He couldn't believe what was happening. He ran right into 2 Fire Benders who both shot firebals at him. Roku's hands move by themselves bending the flames back towards the solders. They both ran off in surprise and Roku run off after them. He then saw the city burning and Roku saw the girl before "Princess Adena" he cried out "I don't believe it". Solders shot fire towards a crowd of people and Roku moved his hands and the flames died out. "What are you doing princess?" Roku asked. "Your a fool if you think you can destroy this city by yourself"
Roku finished getting his supplies and started walking to the gate of the city. He would stay close to the city for a while then move east maybe towards Omashu. He wonder how far his story has spread. No one expected a fire bending master to betray the fire nation. He wondered how many were after him? It didnt matter he thought he had just to keep moving.
Roku saw the girl walk away and something about her made him uneasy but he dismissed the feeling. " Im no one just a traveler passing by". He looked at the boy. "You should be more careful" he whispered to him. "The fire nation could be closer then you think not even this city is safe from them". Roku then went on his way.
So this is Ba Sing Se Roku thought. It was to noisy for his taste and there were to many people, but he was able to get cheap supplies at least. New Fishing rod, food, spare clothers, and hunting gear Roku had almost everything on his list. Roku stopped when he heard people talking about the resistance. He looked at the group for a moment " You kids have no chance against the Fire nation" he said to them "Your just looking to get yourselfs hurt".
Roku closed his eyes for a moment listing to the sounds of the forest. He needed supplies and the closet city was Ba Sing Se. Roku really had a bad feeling about it being a fire-nation traitor. "I just need to stay calm" he said out loud, he was dressed in earth kingdom clothes so as long as he didn't fIre-bend no one would know. He looked over to Hotaru his Komodo Rhino."Im heading out buddy" he said "I hope to be back before dark just stay here". Hotaru lifted and eye and then went back to sleep. Alright lets go Roku thought as he headed towards Ba Sing Se.

Kobayashi left the squad 13 barracks and decided not to go back to just yet. His paperwork could wait a little longer he thought as he walked down the road. ------------ "Grimmjow don't be a fool" Nnoitra chuckled "If they hear you talking like that you be killed". "Your right" Kobayashi said "It would be easier if we could just swoop in and take care of the Espada right now". Kobayashi closed his eyes for a moment remembering that horrible day. "What I really want to know is how are they slipping in the soul society kidnapping all these soul reapers and then getting away without us even knowing until it"s to late?"

Kobayashi laughed, then realized that was the first time he laughed in a while. "Your right sorry seems I been out of it lately" he said taking a seat. "The whole Soul Society seems likes its under a dark cloud and this storm might get worst before it gets better or maybe i'm just over thinking things"
