Your example is flawed without sufficient detail. You simply point out that not voting for Bush would have taken away your right to vote. Not the case. What would give you a right to vote is if you voted for someone else. Believe it or not, there are more than 2 parties to vote for. Reason they never get attention? Too many people have the same attitude about it as you seem to point out in this post. The whole "Nothing will change just because I don't do something" mentality is THE REASON NOTHING CHANGES. Shift it the other way, l get your voice out to as many people as you can whom you know will do the same, and make the difference you apparently want.

You don't have a right to complain, as far as your post proves, because you don't seem to be doing anything to act against the system besides, well, complain about it on an internet forum based around a video game series. You point out its flaws, but you're not bringing up any alternative to it.

And a second thing: I FUCKING HATE THE WHOLE "YOU VOTED HIM IN SO ITS YOUR FAULT" MENTALITY. Like seriously? You're going to go ahead and say that everything that a representative does and will do in the future is suddenly the responsibility of people who voted him/her in at a time in which all we could go off of were speeches, promises, and past actions? People change, including government representatives. They're going to do things whether the people who voted for them agree or disagree, because they are their own person, not 100% the voice of the people.

You may not be responsible for the problem, but you're not helping at all right now.

A well-written series with likable characters, awesome fight scenes, catchy music, and an engaging plot.

So far I've gotten two of those things.

I'll elaborate then specifically then. Because DUR with the Hero's Journey >.>

It avoids telling you what's going on, instead making you figure it out on your own (not in a bad way though.) There's no exposition, or no relationships between characters that feel forced. There aren't archetypical characters, mainly because there aren't really characters per say, more so vessels for the player(s). There's a lot it does differently

I'm not at all saying that there are series without flaws, but I brought up the ones in this series because they just pop up so much that it really makes it difficult for me to enjoy some parts, and that's a terrible disappointment when I was really looking forward to it, as I said before.

You don't have to be an apologist for the series. I already expect most fans to disagree with me. I know they have a small team to work with. I know how hard it is to animate things (hell, the typography video I made that won at a high school film festival took me around a month.)

And I already understand the reason why those characters are like that. I did watch it too, actually. However, it doesn't make it any more enjoyable. Ruby may or may not be crushing on him, but the way it's been gone about right now, I wouldn't know exactly which way it's going, so I'm going with the assumption that in most shounen anime, has been correct.

It is funny you bring up Journey. It shows that you don't need to stick to typical techniques in order to tell a riveting story. But the reason Journey worked was because it understand what it wanted to say, when to say it, and how to say it. RWBY, though, feels like it doesn't know what to do half the time: with more than half of the episodes we've seen barely having any substantial conflicts to move the story forward (mainly it was Ruby and Weiss, and even that got boring to me.)

I don't want to sound like a hater, because I'm not. I came into the series with a lot of optimism and hope, and I actually do enjoy the series' better moments, but I won't excuse its flaws just because it's not a big-name series. That wouldn't be proper critique.

No, story and plot are not the same thing, and too many people don't understand that.

Story is simply the events that take place. Pure information. Think a Wikipedia article.
Plot is the emotions, reactions, moods that characters experience during the events of the story.

RWBY's story has been, within 8 episodes, a typical shounen-anime story. Now this isn't exactly the problem (though it definitely doesn't help make it stand out.) Problem is the plot doesn't do much of anything unique.

Nothing that happens between the characters feels interesting: just old hat. Ruby is the overly emotional girl who crushes on Juan because...plot advancement as far as I can tell, Weiss is the cold bitch (who of course will come around), Yang is the hothead, Blake is the quiet one, and Juan is the comic relief who keeps messing up (but will, of course, end up being super powerful eventually.) The supporting cast actually seems stronger than all of these characters for the sheer fact that they aren't completely predictable arcs. I'm far more interested in what goes on with Ren, Nora, and Pyrrha.

Hell, the fact that the main cast are simple anime character archetypes could be forgiven if they were executed in unique ways. What I loved about the Homunculi in Fullmetal Alchemist was that, even though they were definitive villains, they each had some form of humanity to them, which gave an extra, unseen dimension to them. And Kamina in Gurren Lagann constantly tried to make himself look like the unstoppable badass, but the moment he sees a skull and is reminded of his failure dad, he regresses into a seemingly childish temper because he doesn't want to end up like him.

The sad thing is, I realize that, had Monty tried not to incorporate a full story/plot into the series, I feel like I could enjoy it more, such as with his Dead Fantasy animations. But by making them the focal point, I can't help but see the flaws, having watched many much better done anime/films/television series.

That newest episode was pretty decent for once, but I don't get why Yang got pissed off at all.

To be honest, this series' has been pretty disappointing when it came to things I find important like story, plot, voice acting, writing, and pacing, but the fight scenes, character designs, and music are just really good, so I'll try to finish it.

Remember kids, saying acronyms outloud that aren't commonly used will ~7/10 times make you sound like a twat.

Or a twewy in this case.
