I'm very, very cautiously optimistic about this. As you said, there seems to be way too much going on in a single film. And having writers from the Transformers films isn't helping...but at least it's able to tread its own path instead of repeating an origin damn near everyone knows by now. And I love that Dane DeHan, who did a great job in Chronicle, is playing Harry Osborn. It'll be at least one well-fit role.
As the title implies, you can download and play Final Fantasy VIII on any system that runs Steam, for $11.99 (but you could just wait for a sale lol)
That > Johnny Yong Bosch
OH I WAS LOOKING AT THE WRONG ACTRESS x.x The actual actress, yeah, needs to bulk up. I was thinking of the actress in the 6th movie who was like The Rock's military aid or whatever. Exactly. We don't need (or want) origin movies, but we need to establish characters that are this important. Marvel's The Avengers only worked because the four main stars each had a movie (or 2 in Iron Man's case) for us to learn about them. Even Hawkeye, Black Widow, and Nick Fury got more screen time than just The Avengers. ...I dunno why I explained all that. Meh.
...just have no clue what's going on with this film now. ANOTHER hero who we've had no time to get used to, in a crossover film. Ugh. But at least Gal Gadot would be good for the role. Maybe she could slim down a little though, to better fit Wonder Woman.
Fair enough, just don't expect anything to change that way.
And the problem is? Let people enjoy what they want, it's not hurting you any, is it?
tl;dr: she's cooky and funny and weird and not a total bitch.
Unless its Gurren Lagann. I mean who doesn't go around and ROW ROW FIGHT THE POWAH
First. Dat glare mang.

...I'm not sure if I should make a serious response or what.
Said every Square fan buying a PS3 ever.
Not paying extra money for characters you might not even use? Getting the Ryu-type character for free to try out the gameplay? Only paying $20 for all of the 6 characters released so far and then whoever's going to be released later? Only paying $40 for the above stuff, along with costumes and accessories and the original Killer Instinct game? Fun gameplay that doesn't try to pretend graphics are everything? Yes pls. I'm as critical as anyone else about having to pay for substantial content when I buy a game (fuck that Street Fighter x Tekken bullshit Capcom pulled), but this is one exception that I'm ok with. It handles a lot like League of Legends (boooooo people don't like that game but I do) in that you could easily just enjoy the game at its free version, and its really up to you if you buy anyone beyond Jago. Fighting game fans like myself who enjoy variety will spend some money. Had I an Xbox One, I'd just get the Ultimate Edition. "In short, it's a free-to-play game that's really a $19.99 fighting game broken up into pieces for the incredibly picky. It's a clever way of making a demo with a really cool "buy now" button." For context, I'm not on the Xbox One boat at all. Getting a PS4 sometime next year, and then a long time down the road, the Xbox One.
Fuck getting any new console until maybe mid-2014. No Bayonetta 2. No Kingdom Hearts III. No Final Fantasy XV. No MGS5. No Watch Dogs. But good choice with Wii U for now. Least you got Wonderful 101.
But it has no games. Xbox One at least has Killer Instinct.
So now that Book 2 is done, some thoughts Spoiler MAN was this season just completely hit and miss, with good ideas and badly missed opportunities. The spirit prison thing was brilliant...but then we get something about Kya having some interesting backstory, which is just completely ignored. Then we go to Lin Beifong...WHAT? Did they just COMPLETELY FORGET how to write this character? She went from a badass with interesting history with Tenzin who did a lot of stuff in the first Book...to nearly a cameo role, and whenever we see her, her personality is basically "FUCK MAKO HE'S JUST A BEATCOP IDIOT...OH WAIT MAKO WAS RIGHT SHE KNEW THAT ALL ALONG GUYS" Korra...yeah, half the series I didn't give a shit about her because of being just straight up unrelatable. Luckily, she gained an actual character after Beginnings, and she turned out to be...alright. I especially like that she actually chose to go against what all of the previous Avatars would have chosen, instead deciding to keep the Spirit World gate thing open. Kudos for that...not sure how good that is. BOLIN GETS COOL FINALLY. Too bad the writers can't decide if he's in a couple with Eska or the redhead or what, but it was really neat seeing him and Eska reunite. Just wish it had more to it. Mako I'm not sure entirely how I feel about him. But I am glad he actually went through with his breakup with Korra. The two don't seem like a good fit so far, but maybe its just because both of them have felt bland to me. Unalaq seemed really neat to me at first because I thought he'd have some unique motivations and plots...but he lost all personality towards the ending. Still, I did like his idea of merging the Spirit World with the Physical World. Tenzin probably was my favorite character this Book. Him having to accept that he can't be Korra's spirit guide was well done (for this series), and his family were quite interesting. I loved just about any scene with Bumi, since he was so lively and...not boring. Varrick was...neat. He was a lot more enjoyable though near the beginning of the Book, because when he did that villain plot...thing, I just didn't understand him, but I loved his escape at the finale, even if it was just a cliffhanger really. The final battle between giant Korra and Vaatulaq though...it left me confused. The final battle ends up almost like a Godzilla wrestling match of sorts. Really think it could have been done better, but it wasn't terrible. Just awkward. There's probably more I could say, but I can't think it up right now. Overall, Book 2 started off with GREAT potential, but I can't say it didn't let me down.
But for a non-answer to your question, I've found that when it comes to films adapted from books, it seems like you should just go with one or the other, because I always hear complaints from readers that the films never live up to the books, hence why I sometimes avoid them in the first place (that and I always get distracted from finishing books.) Still, you could do far worse than The Hunger Games trilogy. They seem decent enough for a read.
As someone who never read the books and enjoyed the films, I dunno.
