another example of a manga they changed a lot was Fullmetal Alchemist. There were never any time skips in the manga. I mean the anime was superb but they did add in stuff that was not in the manga. I have a friend that was a complete anime freak and when I suggested to them that they should read the manga of a certain anime they liked, they were shocked at how much was left out.
