I always felt that songs like this were about looking your hassle of a life in the face and acknowledging just how sad you really are. Then you take a deep breath, let out a sigh, and carry on with your day for the sake of getting on with it. That's what the blues have always been about to me, which is why I think a song like this suits me well, because I've never forgotten, moved on from, or forgiven all the darker moments of my life, but I'm still here, and sometimes, I loathe every second of it.
