The weirdest part of the recent announcement is that the game isn't coming to the Vita....wut. It's freaking PERFECT for that system, and would likely help keep the system from dying at least a tiny bit.

Just finished watching the first three episodes on TV. I'll spoiler tag it too just in case:

I really like that we're seeing more interaction between Korra and Asami again, and it's friendly rather than that love-triangle-angst shit that got boring quickly before. Korra herself is coming off as more intelligent and likable too, though it wasn't that much yet. Still liked how she talked down one of the new Airbenders. Tenzin becoming visibly frustrated at nobody wanting to become an Airbender was great at showing a more human personality (and his salesman-esque scenes were hilarious.) Honestly, I was at first hoping Mako wouldn't join everyone else for the journey with how annoying/uninteresting he'd been in the last two Books, but seeing him in Ba Sing Se really made him more likable to me for some reason. Kai's alright; I like him for his comedic relief but haven't found much interest in him beyond that and the cliffhanger of The Earth Queen. I'm really glad to see the series exploring the Earth Kingdom again, and I hope we'll see the Fire Nation too: what I've seen of the Earth Kingdom was really neat, what with the differing rings of society. The new villains...well, there's barely any info on them, but I do really like how they all fight so far. It was really cool seeing Zuko again. I've missed his wisdom mixed with awkward humor.

All in all, Book 3 is so far feeling a tiny bit awkward, but that's something to expect with a Book titled "Change," and so far, I'm liking most of the changes

Guys over at Destructoid were able to play the game for a bit, so here's a written preview.

    My synopsis, if you care:

    • The story's confirmed to be right after Book Two ends, has an original villain who has abilities similar to the Chi blockers, and uses them to pretty much Metroid-nerf Korra (take her powers away so she has to get them back as the game progresses.)
    • Combat involves switching between all four elements on the fly, a la switching weapons mid combo in Bayonetta, and each element is better than the others in some form (water has range, air has area-of-effect.) Dodges and counters are in too.
    • You can ride on an air-ball like Aang did in the openings for Avatar: The Last Airbender.
    • Avatar state is playable, pretty much like Devil Trigger in Devil May Cry or Ripper Mode in Metal Gear Rising
    • Voice actors and music are reprised from the show.
    • Average playthrough is about four hours long.
    • Apparently pretty far along in development (I'd expect as much with the pretty close release date.)
    • Will probably sell for around $15.

    Yeah, I'm getting this game.

I'm just watching one series at a time pretty much lol. I know I could torrent it, buuuuuut sometimes I get impatient. I might just do it for Stardust Crusaders though.

Don't want to deal with the format that animehere.net is using.
Wasn't a fan of the video quality for lovemyanime.net.

Looks like I'll resort to torrents for now.

Anyone got some good, HD quality anime streaming sites? The one I mainly use, AnimeFTW, doesn't have Stardust Crusaders working right now.

There are few feelings as good in gaming as getting good at a fighting game. However, for me that just means my friends never want to play with me ._.

What's with the weird pinkish tint on these shots? This is how it's meant to look.

DAMN IT PLUMS I WANTED THIS THREAD

But yeah, even though I've felt iffy about the last two books of the Korra show, Platinum will make one helluva game, and it's even better that they're putting it on the next-gen systems as well.

Oh, he must be the player that people either love or hate, who gets little support from his own team while he tries reaching the goal.

Eh, I actually like Optimus' design, about one of the only designs in the films that I like. The flames I can see why you're not a fan of, but they're not that bad to me (actually blending in with other cars has never exactly been a strong suit of the Transformers series.)

Gary Chalk was the first time I remember hearing Optimus' voice, so, at least for me, Peter Cullen being the original voice actor has zero input on my opinion. And what do you mean saying that the films are written for Cullen and not Chalk? Not that I disagree yet, I'm just not sure what you mean.

I'll be real and say that Peter Cullen makes a perfectly good Optimus Prime.

    The easiest pick ever:

War of the Monsters, while being far from perfect, was the best kaiju-gaming experience I've ever had. A bunch of unique monsters with differing themes, storylines, moves, and such, fighting in giant arenas like desert military bases and the city of Tokyo and a town near a volcano. Some monsters had combos, some specialized in grappling, some in projectiles, and two of them could even fly (Preytor the giant mantis, and Raptros the dragon.) Downsides of the game included some awkward cameras, lack of four-person multiplayer (only up to two, even though fights could include four monsters,) and a bit of a a shallow combat system, which includes many spammable combos, overpowered moves, and poor A.I.

To this day, I pray that some studio will revive War of the Monsters, bring it to the next-generation systems and PC, and improve the original's parts to make an amazing kaiju-game. Colossal Kaiju Combat looks kinda close, at least.

I have no shame in admitting that my life would be bland and boring to me without internet and/or electronics. I embrace my digital age identity.

Of all the things they could have added to Optimus, flames are the most acceptable. At least he doesn't have that throw-up green color of Ratchet.

Totally disagree. I love Gary Chalk's performances, but Peter Cullen's is also perfect for the role. Cullen delivers the gruffness of a seasoned warrior, yet has the right smoothness to make sure you don't fear him. Like an uncle who loves you but would kick your ass if you disrespected your parents, he gives Optimus a perfect authoritative sound. In fact, yours is the first time I've seen someone not like Peter Cullen. I don't care that he's the original; I care that he's good.

He's fine in the first and second movies (yeah in Revenge of the Fallen he's about the only good thing.)

I already stated my disgust with what happened in Dark of the Moon though.

And don't think I didn't see your pun.
