I disagree with banning Blaziken completely. The only time I've really felt that one had an unfair advantage was with its Hidden Ability, Speed Boost, or Mega Evolution (which also gives it Speed Boost.) A Blaziken with the Blaze ability seems fine to me. I also think Kyurem in all of its forms should be banned. It's got really high stats and many strong moves. Not exactly as bad as, say, Yveltal, but still pretty overpowered if you ask me. Do you want to stick with the "victor in case of both Pokemon fainting" rules I made up? We can tweak it however we want.
I'm open to this. Make it like an invitation, though we might want to decide on our rules first? Don't want people to join and then not participate since they don't like certain restrictions.
Why is this still in the Spam Zone?
As I said, if there are going to be perfect Pokemon included, the least we could do for fairness is acknowledge it in the respective tournament info.
That's...a pretty poor reason to choose someone. I've seen more Michael Bay films than I have Stanley Kubrick ones, and I think the latter is a far superior film maker.
We don't need every tournament to just be simulator-level with the same expectations of perfection, I think. Kinda makes some people not want to even try, y'know? One big thing I'm already seeing needed with our ideas is numbers, and I'm unsure if we should be so exclusive as to making people only expect perfect Pokemon. Have it stated in the tournament's information. We can form different tournaments with different rules too.
I agree with this, up until using only the simulator (or Pokebattle...haven't tried that one yet) We should still make tournaments (eventually) for people who want to use their 3DS systems. The way it's going now though, people are going to have to accept the use of generated Pokemon. I won't participate, but I'm sure others will still enjoy it.
Discuss the solutions. I'm done arguing personal preference in this situation.
You kinda do need to make a separate thread to have a poll though. It's a very clear way to see what the populace of the group thinks. Though you are right about the consensus in this case...
Because I'm playing Pokemon, with all of the elements that name includes, not just Pocket Monster Battle Simulator 2013 (which I'd be fine with, so far as EVERYONE is using the same thing.) I've proposed alternatives. Discuss those.
You don't have to use those means. The asset you are talking about is available to you outside of the game consoles, the games you're playing, and the information that you read/watch/listen to; those things are what I solely stick to.
I've used the method before, but I just prefer not dealing with having to find the right hordes. Rain, for instance, makes it so you can't even use Sweet Scent.
I...don't care if I have to repeat myself? I want my point to be seen eventually, regardless of how many times people don't agree with it. I ask again, what is the point of using a 3DS then, if you're just going to generate Pokemon? So you can carry it with you? And why can't it also test how well people play the games using the RPG elements if that's a part of Pokemon? The way this is going, it feels like there would have to be three tournaments just to appease everyone. Simulator, 3DS with generated Pokemon, 3DS without generated Pokemon. Hell, might just have to scratch the last one because people would still not be honest. I don't even know what to say guys. I'm trying to be democratic here.
Alright, I agree with that then. There's a poll anyway, so we got time before we make any concrete rules. By and by, I do like how this thread is going so far. Putting specific restrictions into polls is a good way to see what most of the participants want.
But its the resorting to generated Pokemon at all that irks me. Maybe I'm alone here, but if I'm going to bother with a game with a competitive nature like this game, I'm going to do it legit.
Wait...are we going to make rules about stuff like Sand Attack? Personally, I don't think those need to be hit, only limited; you can switch your Pokemon out in most cases.
I just don't like the idea of people avoiding the whole point of trading Pokemon. It's literally one of the most important concepts of Pokemon as a whole.
I know that feel, but you could use community sites (like....well, this very forum) and try trading with people too.
I'm well aware of this. If people really want to be cheapskates and not admit that they generated their Pokemon, whatever. The only thing they win is a victory over someone who played the games as they're intended: no cash prize, no reward other than personal recognition.
Sorry if you don't like it, but I feel that it needs to be discussed until there's a consensus. If people don't like whatever is eventually agreed upon, than they don't participate, simple as that. I already said that I won't participate in a 3DS tournament if someone is admitting to using generated Pokemon.
