Which is why I'm annoyed that it's Vita exclusive.
Devil May Cry 3 veteran right here (WOW WHO'DA THUNK) I haven't played Drakengard 3 but did watch roughly an hour of its gameplay. The game has gorgeous character models and cutscenes, but pretty damn bland looking arenas and, as has been stated before, it only runs at 30 FPS. The action is fast and pretty brutal, but I don't think the combat is on the character-action level (air combos and launchers and weapon swapping and such.) Looks to me more like a hack-and-slash game. Still, I do want to pick it up sometime when it's cheaper. I'm pretty sure you've already played Bayonetta if you're a DMC fan, but if you haven't, get on it. The FPS is a little weaker on the PS3 version and stutters (where as the 360 version is a stable 60,) but it's still one of my favorite action games ever. Ninja Gaiden Sigma is also a damn good buy. Really extensive combat system, hella tough bosses, upgrading weapons, neat (though not at all deep) story, and you play as Ryu Hayabusa, my namesake. Initially I was going to say to go with the SLI, but what you could do is stick with the single Titan Black (I'm guessing 6GB GDDR5?) and, since you'll have an open slot for later expansion, buy another Titan Black further down the line for when you need extra power, since the card will have gotten at least a little cheaper.
So, this was kinda disappointing, but not nearly as much as many people are saying. For me, a 6/10. The action scenes are stellar, and I really liked the utilization of the turtles being turtles and Splinter being a rat. And contrary to what might have been said, I could easily distinguish each turtle from the others, thanks in part to the varying statures and body features and clothing and accessories. I honestly really did like the turtles' personalities; they made me laugh quite a bit. Now the issues I had: For one, WHY DID YOU GUYS GO WITH THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 1 AND 2'S PLOTS???? It is basically the same plot: child protagonist's dad is doing genetic experimentation stuff with his friend, dad finds out that friend is trying to use genetic experimentation for weaponization, dad goes missing in action, protagonist grows up, finds what dad had really been up to, dad's friend turns out to be bad guy, bad guy wants to spread a (specifically) gaseous substance into New York City, heroes stop bad guy, and a tall tower collapses. I am really sick of this plot of "MY DAD DID THE BAD SCIENCE." The changes to the origin are unwanted by me. For two, fuck that backstory for the turtles becoming ninjas. So damn lazy. For three, Megan Fox is still boring to watch. SURPRISE! She does nothing that any other actress could do, and probably does it worse. Also, she barely feels important in the story. Far too reminiscent of Sam Witwicky in the live-action Transformers films. For four, the supporting characters are nothing but plot devices and cease to exist after they've served their weak purpose. For five, Shredder, who looks freaking sick in this film, was basically Bane in The Dark Knight Rises, though with REALLY GOOD FIGHT SCENES. Still, making the MAIN VILLAIN OF THE SERIES the second fiddle big bad is really annoying and shows that they heard the backlash of what was originally going to be a white dude playing Shredder. For six, man, why the fuck did they make Michelangelo constantly hit on April? It's freaking creepy. For seven, really forgettable score. Dunno if this matters for anyone else, but it's just so standard 2010's action flick.
It just got stale to me, like a joke that was being repeated, but I won't say it didn't have its moments. If they really wanted to change Bumblebee into a better bot (lol yeah right) they should have tried giving him a voice rather than stripping it after the first movie. I'd prefer if they just gave Bumblebee a young guy's voice, so he could connect better with Sam instead of being a walking pop culture reference machine. I too liked the (minor) development of Age of Extinction's Autobots, though I really do wish Bumblebee got the spotlight in the final act, rather than, well, Optimus AGAIN.
If they were, I'd probably cease to listen to them. Thankfully this is not the case. ...though it'd be hard to be pop-punk with Timothy McIlrath's vocals...
I dunno about calling Siren Song their "pop" album; for Pete's sake it includes State of the Union which I consider one of their heaviest songs. If any album feels their most "pop" to me, it'd be Appeal to Reason. Not calling any of the songs bad, but Audience of One and The Dirt Whispered are hella light. Though of course none of this really matters :P
ONE OF MY BIGGEST GRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIPES At least he's not annoying with the radio stuff in Prime; he's basically a giant R2D2 with laser cannons.
Mega Altaria being Dragon/Fairy and having Pixilate...well, time to get my counters set up. The cloud theme is nice. Mega Lopunny being Normal/Fighting is neat, though I dunno how useful it'll be unless they give it a big ATK boost. Neutral about the look. Mega Salamence looks like it'll be a pretty big threat, though I'm kinda unimpressed with its ability, Aerialate. Wish the thing still had arms though.
Well, I've just been doing mini-marathons, usually 5-6 episodes at a time. The arcs are really interesting, the characters are likable, the voice acting is solid, the action scenes are impressive, and I like all of the designs of the Transformers so far, the perfect mix of G1 and Bay-films. Pretty much. They teased Bumblebee getting some and then went "NO WE WANT TO SELL OPTIMUS"
Prime is really fantastic. G1 is decent, but I found the second season FAR to long, and thought most of season three was...too space-y if you don't watch the movies (which they constantly refer to without giving a summary of until near the end of that season.) 'sall taste, mang :>
I dunno if it's cause I never played REmake, but they look really good to me ._. though I definitely do see jags on some walls, yes. Just not as bad to me as, like Patman said, upscaling 480p to a 1080p resolution.
I prefer Prime's Ratchet because he actually gets attention and has a variety of expressions, whereas I found Bay Ratchet kinda...non-existent after the first movie. Bulkhead such a bro. I really liked when he got reunited with Wheeljack :>
I think I kinda get what you mean: you're more into the sound of a band playing together, with a variety of instruments and (usually) one singer who focuses on varying how his/her voice sounds, rather than (generally) a foreground of one person focusing more on choice of words at a specific pace with a (for the most part) simpler, more bass-driven background.
Not criticizing you at all, we buds, but what do you find undesirable in rap music for yourself?
So far, I remember seeing (by the end of Season One): Optimus Prime Arcee Bumblebee Bulkhead Ratchet Wheeljack Tailgate Primus Megatron Starscream Soundwave Skyquake Knock-Out Breakdown Airachnid Unicron Not including Orion Pax or Megatronus because c'mon.
It's also sad that they essentially keep doing the same damn plot every film with the most variation being why whatever city is being destroyed at that time. Prime, meanwhile, starts its first big arc in the first five episodes with FUCKING ROBOT ZOMBIE PLANET INCOMING with action scenes that I can only dream of being done on the current films' budget and human characters whom I actually like. Also, Arcee. She's shit in the few appearances she gets in the films. She's my favorite character, meanwhile, in Transformers Prime. WHAT GIVES.
The song Fancy sucks, but Charlie XCX isn't terrible and Iggy has a decent flow. Again, that song still sucks. You have the internet. It's not hard AT ALL to find good music from just about any era, especially the 2000's Also, you think all stuff from the 1990's was good? Try again. Well yeah, if you don't put any effort into trying to find decent rap artists and base your opinion on only what's the most popular, you'll probably be pretty ignorant of an entire genre of music. Just like, well, any other genre.
Transfomers and Age of Extinction are definitely the best of the bunch, which is sadly not saying much at all. Dark of the Moon is alright to me, because Sentinel Prime had a not-completely-crazy plan (ignoring how gravity and polarity on a planet-size scale would actually work,) and the only annoying human character this time around (note: not being annoying does not equal great) was...John Malkovich's character. What a waste of an actor. Compared to the rest of the colorful, vibrant cast OH WAIT THAT INCLUDES THE TWINS AND A PEEING ROBOT they were at least cool to watch in action. I just wish Grimlock had a bigger role in Age of Extinction, but I'm also half-glad that they didn't ruin him like they did Devastator (who literally sucked) or Optimus in Dark of the Moon (Transformers Prime's version of Optimus makes that version in the movie look like a God damn barbarian.)
I kinda liked Shockwave and Laserbeak.
That's actually to me the most predictable plot twist possible. Why the hell would DC make their two biggest guns have a real battle in only the second film of their planned cinematic universe? Also, who the hell is Uperman.
