It totally sucks that people ignore the fact that this shit happens to guys too. Like I said, had it happen to me before, though not on the level of your incident, and the idea that we should be flattered is ridiculous.
It definitely is one of your best drawings so far. TIps though (if you want:) avoid the anime face. I know I know, it's a style you and I both enjoy, but it's not going to help develop your skills in learning how to portray facial details. Look up the faces of actors you could see in this character's role. Try imitating things like their cheekbones, jaw lines, lips, nose, etc.
She's probably not putting that effort into her appearance for you. Just remember that. While yes, your intent is good, the action is still not benefiting the idea that people of any sexual identity ought to be able to just go about their daily lives without undesired attention based solely on appearance. I get what you mean, I do, because I was in that situation before, but you have to think from their perspective more. And a gamer shirt? Very much different; gaming is an activity that one pursues. Being of a sex is not.
Scaroused.
I've been cat called before by women, years ago. I took it as a compliment then, because I had such little respect for myself that any attention paid to me in a way that was about how attractive I was, I took openly. Now that I've matured, I actually get why cat calling is an issue: it's basically a way that people degrade others to just being attractive. It's totally fine to compliment a person if you actually are in a situation where you and the other person has established some kind of pleasant conversation, but to do it to someone who's just walking down the street and probably didn't even know you existed until you said that they're attractive, is bringing attention to them in a way that we have to start realizing people don't always want and shouldn't have to just deal with. So...less about hating the actual video, more about hating people not understanding what a good argument is like, right? Like, I get what you're saying, but I don't see the video itself being something to have issue with.
Very enjoyable movie. Absolutely loved the characters and animation yet again. Now my gripes because other people can compliment this film better than I feel like: Again being a simpler Disney movie, hella predictable We get basically no story for the side characters. It was awkward to me how Hiro seemingly instantly was friends with them. Too short. I think that's part of why the above issue was prominent for me. Add another 15 minutes in, easy solution. Hiro didn't seem to do much of anything in conflicts. He seemed pretty useless without Baymax. Wish he still used some of the old nanobots.
What thing? Cat calling? If so, then...yeah, you are better than people who do that, in that specific way at least.
Well the dude did say he's OP
I have the boxes for my DS and my 3DS still, as well as the box for my laptop, and all of the cases for games I've bought physically.
I'm ok with that delay. I trust Rocksteady actually make good use of their time and resources.
You have to think about what it means though to wear something like that and be seen as a positive role model. What your statement says is, basically, it's ok if I do something good for people while I'm also displaying a portrayal of women as objects to look upon for enjoyment rather than with respect. Again, I think context is vastly important. If he wore that shirt on the street? Fine, he's only representing himself. A bad display but whatever. But as a member of the scientific community, being displayed to a huge audience, for a press conference meant to be about the comet landing? The racist person curing cancer is accepted? "Hey, anyone who wants to be a scientist, it's totally ok to be racist! Nobody's gonna care!" Why can't we recognize what people do well while also telling them what they did wrong?
I'm not interested in the scandal part. What really gets me is how people are defending what he's wearing simply due to what he's done. Worst of all is when people try to show up people with my opinion by bringing up rape culture. Stuff along the lines of "Don't you guys feel like hypocrites saying he deserves what he got because of what he wore?" As if the two kinds of circumstances are equivalent. I guess I'm less interested in this particular instance, and more interested in how far people would go defending someone. Hence the example I brought up.
I didn't call the shirt a direct insult. There's no doubt in my mind that he had no intention to insult anyone, but that doesn't change the fact that he did wear this shirt and knew many people would see it around the world. The shirt is right there in my first post to look at. Well, yeah; if you're a public figure in a professional setting, and you make the choice to wear something that stereotypes a certain group of people, I think you do deserve criticism for it. And he won't be able to wear the shirt anymore in public? I'm pretty sure he's got plenty of other shirts to wear. If he didn't want those accusations, he should have made a wiser choice in what he wore in a professional setting. He's not making a hate speech, but he is sharing through his attire the idea that people ought to be treated as objects. I've already said that I'm glad he apologized and hope that he still does get the recognition he deserves, but seriously, doesn't take that much thought to wear something that isn't blatantly objectifying.
BBC News link to the story. Spoiler: The shirt in question What are your guys' thoughts about this? Personally, I do think it was a really bad idea for him to wear that shirt in the public view. Some people try to defend the choice by stating it was made by a female, or he gets to wear whatever he feels like because he landed on a comet, but I really disagree with that notion. He's a professional, in a professional setting, and the last thing he should be wearing is something that objectifies women like this. I'm glad he apologized, and I hope that the situation does blow over soon so that people can give him the respect he deserves for what he did, but I'm really annoyed by the idea that someone's achievements can instantly cover up for their mistakes. To me, it's pretty much the same as a person making a racist joke on live television but saying "It's ok guys, I cured cancer!" And please, if you're not going to actually discuss this, don't bother with comments like "talk about the comet not the shirt." That's a different subject and has its own place.
Spinal's theme is the kind of shit I want to accompany my morning routine.
Streaming Bastion in about 2 hours without commentary. Link for those interested in seeing and hearing the game.
No, it's just a bunch of empty land occupied by holograms designed by Tetsuya Nomura. The low-tech countrysides are obviously just leftovers from China or something.
