Just a heads up: the Silent Hill wiki is not a truly trustworthy source of information. They mix things both from the original four games and the newer ones, causing a bunch of fan theories to be written off as fact, and confusion with the lore (since "Silent Hill: Origins" actually changes events of the first game.) There are mentions of bodies in Toluca Lake, but what the "strange events" mentioned to have happened in 1939 are has (far as I know) never been explained, which makes them all the more mysterious.
Interesting, as I haven't heard about that before. Far as I know, there isn't a concrete origin for the fog, so I didn't try answering that :P I specifically remember that the "strange events" were never fully explained beyond numerous boating accidents, since you find a document about it in Toluca Prison that cuts off right at the "strange events" part. Pretty sure you're correct about the Native Americans, though I'm not sure there's any confirmation on if it was or wasn't. The town definitely had some kind of magic to it before any recorded civilization though. I brought up the term "unreality" as it was specifically called that in the first "Silent Hill" game, I think by Harry.
Yeah, you're right. This is more of a primer for people who want to either get into the series or have played some of the games, and want more insight into the town's history.
Has anyone else tried the Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate demo yet? I'm not yet a fan of the series (haven't played any of the games yet, just demos) but it seemed pretty cool with the various equipment configurations and the setting of traps and such.
