"Well...to start...this island...is haunted." Mickey said. "Pete and Eggman planned this whole thing. The ships colliding, our crashing here-all of it." Sephiroth continued. "They knew it could be the perfect place to get rid of me and Sonic." Mickey went on. "Getting rid of the rest of us...they saw that as a "bonus"." Sephiroth finished.
