Oops, I guess I'm thinking of another series' author...I just can't figure out which one it was...or if there was one who died before finishing a series. I think I was also partly caught up by how long the hiatus has been.
But...the mangaka's dead. I feel weird about this.
Can we stop having this thread yet? pleaSE?
Bruh, check my loot if you haven't already. Also, I wish I had better pictures of the amazing Ragyo I saw at Anime Expo.
It's one of the best not-very-deep action anime released in the past five years. It has a few hiccups (rushed finale, for one) but I absolutely love the ride it took me on. And the art direction may take some getting used to, but I find it stellar. You may already love the music; I hope you do at least. Also....dub or sub?
BTW I got me a new Blue Snowball microphone, and I should be free for the podcast for the next month or so.
Along with what you brought up, I don't think Bruce's parents dying there would really work out when you notice the Robin suit. I'm expecting that the solo Batman films will start off as prequels to this film. I just hope they don't spend more than 10 minutes on the origins...
Oh yeah, that just occurred to me. That's probably what happened. Though why Bruce would care about one tower is beyond me, unless he's got people in it. Then I can see some good motivation.
I really want to know just what the hell Clark is doing near the beginning of that trailer, in the city. Like, is he fighting someone?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?t=98&v=0WWzgGyAH6Y For some reason I can't embed it. But Wonder Woman at least looks amazing. And I like how Alfred is telling Bruce not to fight.
I didn't see any Monogatari prints from artists I really really liked.
I met Martin Billany at Anime Expo. AKA: LittleKuriboh. Spoiler And here's a small Evangelion group shot from the last day. Spoiler
Go there for a vacation during the summer. Come back to wherever else during the winter. DUBLE KURISIMASU
Totally agree, Amon was a great setup that fell on its face. It's so bad when you can call a poor plot-twist like that. Not to mention all the badly written romance and waste of Bolin. Book Three and Book Four make up so much for all the issues the first half of the series had. Bolin gets justice, Korra develops so much more than punching and yelling ("Korra Alone" is probably my favorite episode of the series), Zaheer is without a doubt the best antagonist the entire Avatar franchise has witnessed yet, the background art is super impressive, etc.
Currently trying to figure out how/where to hang them. I retook the Sona picture after I noticed how blurry the original shot was. Spoiler: I kinda like Kill la Kill Imgur album.
All I'm saying is, you should just work on wording your statements better. I do what I can with what I read and hear, and I hope you understand why I was confused: I was forced to make inferences from what you quoted versus what you actually thought. And I still stand by my statement that you shouldn't be quoting a statement of such absolutes when you haven't finished the series. Yeah half of it ranges from bad to ok, but the second half is where the writers really figured out what they wanted to do with the story. I know that doesn't sound appealing probably, and I know it's hard to be a vocal opponent of such a well-liked series, but I still think you'd at least find some enjoyment in Books 3 and 4.
My perspective: 1. The original thing you quoted said that Korra has no good seasons "and no one wants to admit it." 2. I asked if you watched all four books of Korra after you said you disliked it. 3. You said you didn't like Book 1 and Book 2, and thus won't try to finish the rest of the series. 4. I said that you shouldn't be saying that the series has no good seasons if you didn't finish watching it all. 5. You said you were simply quoting someone else's words on it (which was that it all was bad) and added that you, having not seen it all, can't say it's all bad but were not interested in finishing the series. 6. I explained my confusion, saying that you didn't disagree with the statement you quoted (statement = all seasons of Korra are bad.) 7. You affirmed that you don't disagree with the statement (and thus, agree that all seasons of Korra are bad.) Notice, mainly, the contradictions of 5 and 7.
I am officially baffled by how you word shit.
I actually think Book 4 is a little better than Book 3, mainly cause of the strong string of events and characterization and conflict of personalities throughout, though I think 3 had the better done finale. Book 2's Wang episodes beat everything in Book 1, but...they were only two episodes.
You didn't say once that you disagreed with the statement. You didn't specify beyond saying it's a series you don't like.
