Folk mispronounce my name all the time. It doesn't bother me (I find it quite funny most of times) but I've heard some really strange ones where extra letters are tossed in. I can't understand how folk get to the point where McKechnie is pronounced as McKenzie or something completely different.I find foreign telemarketers the worst and I can't help but have a bit of fun with them.

Your smartphone and old flip phone operate with different technologies and at different frequencies. It may be because your smartphone's signal works at a higher frequency but my knowledge on phone tech is fairly limited so I don't know for sure. Edit: lol what Nights said.
