He's been different ever since entering this hell of a town, she thought to herself. I'm perfectly capable of protecting him, but what about shielding him from the thoughts in his mind? Words like that come from a troubled conscious, and I don't know what to do there... She clenched her fists tightly on her forearms, biting the inside of her lower lip. Why did he make her feel so useless, as if, with all her reputation and experience, this boy was such a challenge she couldn't meet?
