Whatever the case, I'm just going to go with the literal and imagine Plums is talking about Kairi wearing pantaloons

Wait, newspeak is a thing? I thought it was just a word he was using to refer to how people talk nowadays. What's newspeak?

The more you talk about this, the mroe this sounds like it should be the various subsets of the broadest definition of game, not categories in themselves

I've been embroiled in an argument about this recently, it's kinda in the same vein as the argument me and @DigitalAtlas had a bit ago.
But while I was able to understand his view, I just heartily disagree with it, this new one is a thing of its own.
The conversation is primarily about Bioshock Infinite. Other stuff comes up, but this seems to be the focus. The thing that's bothering me is that people are making the argument not that reviews should be objective, like Atlas was, but rather that subjective things were objective because of majority rule.
    The example the opposition used:
The way Elizabeth acts in Bioshock Infinite doesn't make sense, since she was secluded for most of her life.
The argument is this is an objective criticism that any critic could use.
I said that there are reasons that could be interpreted as to why she acts the way she does, like her being alone so long made her desperate to interact with people, or something. The response I got was "just because some people can see it differently doesn't mean it's not objective"
So I dunno, it seems to me like it varying from subject to subject is the definition of being subjective, but I'm curious what other people here thing.
In particular I'm curious what @DigitalAtlas thinks of this, because this is in theory pretty close to his beliefs, but almost seems like the antithesis to what he thinks.

Okay, I can fully get behind that. History is vital, whatever it's about. That's honestly why I don't get why so many people mock Latin. It seems incredibly valuable to understand that so many words in so many languages share the same basic root

I'm split, honestly. It pissed me off in High School listening to people complain about how different words were pointless because they all meant the same thing. But new language stuff has value. Like emoticons. As far as I'm concerned, emoticons make for FAR more effective punctuation than what we call the standard. Using a bunch of simple, and easily recognizable shapes that represent basic emotions gives a huge range of context that a period or question mark doesn't really provide.
So I'm of two minds on your view. I do definitely dislike seeing basic language atrophy, but I think words, especially new words, should be expected to mutate like the words video game is right now.

Why is it assumption is always the thing people go to when they try to discredit something. It's hyperbole
Anyways. Why not psot it in the KH forum? it's not rules compliant, more people visit the Spam Zone, what other reasons do I need?
I dunno why me saying that this might help someone is interpreted by you as me being on some quest to inform a bunch of people. I just figured someone might not know all this, and maybe some other people would appreciate it for hype's sake. No big plans. No big motive. Just making a topic and suddenly being forced to justify it to an insane degree

Well I understand not wanting it to happen or not going along with it happening, or even trying to fight it, but asking people to fix it? It's not something that can be fixed. It's arguable that it's not even something that NEEDS to be fied. The appropriation and evolution of language is as old as language.

Not really, no, what I'm trying to get at is that just because you specific people already know this (and apparently hate being reminded) doesn't mean everyone is. I'm basing this on past experience, and to be fair, this is a much smaller community than I'm used to, but there is definitely a difference between a wiki page passively existing and a thread being actively posted. There are 45 views here, lots are duplicates, but there are also 5 unique people involved in this. The law of averages says that this'll reach SOMEONE this matters to. It could be someone who didn't know the extent of these changes, it could be a person who forgot how cool KH2 is, it could be a person who just wants their reasons to be hyped reiterated. A lot of people haven't actually played Final Mix, anyways, and are more than likely only familiar with the exclusive cutscenes because of that.
I mean, okay, you guys knew about... that's great? Why are you so offended about being reminded of it?

Wait, THAT'S what you wanted me to fix? Hate to break it to you but there's no fixing to be had. Language changes over time. It's a force of billions of people as a collective. You don't stop or fix that. All you can do is go to those niche groups and use those words, and link to a dictionary when someone tries to be a smartass about your use oft he word
