So you say with one hand you dismiss female characters who have a role for a lack of character development, and then name generic background characters as examples of poorly representing women?
Well if I can't name any non major characters, then all that really leaves is Aveline, but take a look beyond that, and you'll, for example, see a bunch of women with varying roles and personalities in Connor's homestead, a large number of female assassins in AC4, one of the more important side characters in AC4 also turns out to be female. Most of the women Ezio gets serious with have at least one cool moment, Altair's wife was a Templar and skilled in combat and the like. The brothel madam thing isn't a particularly strong argument either, since the owner of that brothel is probably one of the most self empowered characters in the series. The barmaid thing I'm not even sure about, since I recall seeing a lot more barmen, but whatever.
There's a reason a lot of cliches show up though... because cliches come from somewhere. Sure, the game is about freedom and stuff, but that doesn't mean they suddenly go rewriting history where suddenly tonnes of women had equal opportunities to men and had lots of job opportunities or whatever. Quite frankly I'd say doing that would be worse.
And as you move closer and closer to our time period things get more and more equal just like... real life. You go from courtesans to gypsys to dancers, when you get to the modern era there's nothing like this, men and women are just NPCs, treated more or less equally. The ones we do get to meet during modern times are varied in terms of dominance and whatever abritrary method we're judging a 'good' female character by today

And, you know, assassins, villains, action girls, faction members and leaders, and in one of the recent games a protagonist.
there are plenty of slaves of both genders, so I don't see why that's a standout, and... wives of men? What are they supposed to be, husbands?

It's not hard to read the names (except for some credits that go so fast they might as well have motion blur) but what's there to gain from reading those hundreds of random names?
If I want to know who made something I'll google it, it's not like reading all the names will even make you remember them. Tell me who the supervising animator from a movie you just saw. Who provided the vocals for that one song? Tell me all about the interns
what I'm getting at is people acting like one of these options is lazy or something. You want a teaser for a movie because you can't wait for it? That's just as impatient as not wanting to wait through 20 minutes of credits just to find out about a movie you'll see months later anyways

The character in the trailer is apparently wearing Gerduo style arm bands, so it's not that impossible

Viewing credits is disrespectful? But sitting through them to get to a hint at another movie isn't? Pretty much nobody pays attention to the credits. It's not really practical to, they're too long

And honestly, the argument about patience is kinda weird in this topic. It's more patient to wait 20 minutes because you need a teaser of another movie as soon as possible?[DOUBLEPOST=1402593993][/DOUBLEPOST]
    It's not. It's completely unrelated

it's also an advanced version of Crisis Core in terms of gameplay. It pushed the PSP beyond its limit, graphically, level up system is... I dunno... kinda reminiscent of FF8? And the story is -kinda- reminiscent of FF12 (or an Ivalice game, at least)

what's so great about watching a bunch of names fly by too fast to actually care about?
Getting a five second teaser after sitting and waiting for 15 minutes doesn't really seem worth it

You still gain ablities. it's just those abilities are command styles.
there's a logic to most of the melds, I'd say. Like mixing thunder would tend to lead you to a magnet ability, and fire would lead to fire abilities. Combining physical attacks would get you physical attacks.
Don't earn or work for it? Unless you use a guide you'll need to work a LOT of get what you want, never mind every ability and command. I'd say that's as much earning it as leveling up to get an ability
I liked how in KH1 you got enemy abilities, and really the only other game that does this is BBS, where you sometimes get related abilities, like the thunder command style from the electricity boss in Deep Space
