Spoiler: I should probably follow cstar's example, boo. We did write a lot though Tomas heard the thought and his smile faded away as well, but he knew what it was like. "It's okay." He stood up gradually, feeling a little light headed as he wrapped the blankets around himself. He then heard a click of the door and looked over, seeing two black robed figures and then one dressed in white and black. Tomas's eyes widen as he stared at the new different figure, clutching his blanket tightly. 'That's one of the high members,' Tomas sent to Abi. 'He's... Almost like a sub leader to everyone.' A quick thought reading of the other guy and Tomas's eyebrows furrowed slightly. 'He's going to be doing the Talk today...' "Tomas, the man dressed in the black and white robes called, "come. We have much to discuss today." Tomas looked back at Abi before letting the blankets fall completely from his form. His hair was still damp from the water boarding and the blood was starting to bleed through the white bandages that were tapped so carefully on his neck. He was dressed in silky dark blue robes now with a white crane imprinted on the back. He walked forward as the two black robed beings unlocked the door and led Tomas out. The man with an air of authority glanced at Abi, smirking from under his robes. "You will be next, Abi. Tomas will be back to you soon." As the oak doors opened and the other cell door was locked twice with the new lock and the old lock, Tomas glanced back at his shoulder to Abi, keeping his little light he had left in his eyes. 'I'll be okay,' he sent to her. 'I promise... I'll see you soon.' And then one of the robed figures gently moved him forward, closing the oak door shut and locking it behind them, leaving Abi alone in the silence. She didn't have the time to ask what the Talk was, and it was probably because she felt this... intimidation from the guy in the white and black. Abi watched as they took Tomas away and after a few moments she got up from the bed. She wasn't sure what to do to entertain herself now that the only person she was talking to was gone. This happened every time Buttercup wasn't with her. It wasn't that she /needed/ to talk to anyone, she just liked the comfort of having someone, something else there. She looked around the room and passed by the vanity mirror, and just to see if she could piss off anyone else she gave a sarcastic wave to it and continued walking around. She examined a couple of the books and went through a couple more things and frowned and said out loud, "What? No C.D.s? We've got D.V.D.s like crazy in here but not even some older C.D.s?" Abi stretched a bit and felt the twinge of pain from her arms and whispered, "Bad move, bad move." and she massaged her arms as she looked through just in case some were hidden. She then responded as she stood up and walked over towards the board games, "Billy Joel. There's a good musician that's got that feel good swing. Watch me try and start a revolution to Billy Joel... I don't think I could..." she started to list songs in her head before she started humming Uptown Girl in her head. When she looked through the board games she grinned when she saw one, "Oooh, Operation." she thought about playing it for a moment but told herself 'nah'. She instead grabbed a deck of cards and started shuffling them. She went to the table and began a game of solitaire. After it seemed like a long time had passed, the oak doors opened and Tomas was escorted through. His head was down and his appearance seemed to be depressed. His mind was dull with strange mumbling that didn’t make sense, but it had a dark tone to them as if it was a prologue to a nightmare. The two cloaked men unlocked the doors and let Tomas in, who just moved to his bed and laid down, keeping his back towards everyone as rested there. “Abbi,” the man in black and white robes addressed. “Come with me. We have much to talk about.” The two hooded figures stayed in the room, one standing by Tomas’s bedside while the other was standing at the cell door entrance, waiting for Abi to come forward. Abi, needless to say, looked concerned when Tomas had returned. She wanted to ask what was wrong, but the way his thoughts were just confusing made her even more nervous what this Talk was. Abi nervously walked over to the cell door, trying her best not to show her nerves. The man in the black and white robes smiled almost kindly to Abi. "Follow me," he said and began to walk down the hallway as the two figures dressed in black stayed behind. Two more black figures appeared out of the shadows and followed behind Abi and the man in black and white. From there, she would be led down the hallway, passed the room where her and Tomas endured tortures and then came to a door that was elegant and fine. The man opened the door to reveal an office of sorts with dim lights, the sound of ocean waves playing in the background, and a desk with one comfy chair facing the front while an office chair was placed behind it. There were no pictures on the walls, just plants here and there in the corners that were healthy and strong. "Have a seat," the creepy man said, gesturing to the grand chair facing his desk as he took his spot at the office chair and sat down. "It was said to me that you're sort of the trouble maker. Is this correct?" Abi took a seat cautiously, but her words were obviously not as cautiously picked out, "Well if you all went through all that trouble to get me, you shouldn't seem so surprised when it turns out I don't like to be locked in a cell." "Oh my, the rumors are true." The man laced his hands in front of him, his hood covering his eyes and his hair. "Is there anything that not fits your taste in your room? Perhaps we can arrange something for you to keep you more occupied. Something you always have wanted perhaps...?" "A giraffe." Abi's face was straight and looked dead serious, though she wasn't. She had plenty of practice with her facial expressions throughout the years, then her expression turned more amused, "Oh wait you mean an object that can fit in the cell? How about..." Abi's expression looked serious again, "...my pet dog that your men kicked and could have possibly killed?" "We apologize for that. I assure you, she will be fine. Accidents happen when we obtain someone like you..." The man kept calm and collective, quietly reading Abi from where he was at. "Tell me, do you ever think through a plan before you go through with it? Have you ever considered the consequences of your actions whether they would hurt anyone or not?" "Obtain? Is that how you put it to make it sound nice?" Abi asked amused before he had asked the next question about planning, "I have... I do..." she thought for a moment before she continued, "But most of the time plans don't actually go the way you plan it. Why, did I hurt someone other than Toma- oh yeah I did didn't I? How is muscle man, has the pain died down between the knees?" "Ha, yes, you are a firecracker... If not contained properly though, you might burn others you do not want to burn... Tomas, you dog, your parents, your little brother on the way..." The leaned back in his chair, waving his hand in the air. "The list can become endless, my dear..." Abi narrowed her eyes at him and questioned, "What are you talking about?" "With you in our custody, we can find out more about you than you want us to realize... We know for a fact that you have powers... But what ticks you off? What inspires you to keep living... breathing... fighting. We will find out one question at a time... For example, did you know that Tomas was kicked out of his private school as a child because he kept revealing his friend's secrets? The poor boy only thought they were speaking out loud about it, but then found out it was really their minds he was hearing and not their actual voices... He was diagnosed as a compulsive liar, and he was bullied severely because of that. Simply because he said their thoughts out loud as a little six year old boy..." The man's smile faded away from his face as he spoke, getting a darker tone that conflicted with the nurturing tone of a concerned parent. "He did not say these things out loud, Abi Barry... We found out for ourselves this information... It's right at our fingertips... Even if you do not say a word. It reflects in your actions, it reflects in your deeds, it reflects through your body language and how you carry yourself everyday..." Abi did not feel comfortable with knowing information about Tomas without Tomas having said it to her himself, and that much may have been evident on her face. She looked the man directly in the eyes and said, "Then by all means, try to pull information out of my head that I have never said out loud. I'm not /that/ much of an open book." "Over time we will... Let's get to the matter that's really at hand. Any more outbursts from you, any resistance or signs of rebellion you will not only suffer for the consequences of your actions, but Tomas will as well. He may not be able to get many freebie passes for you like he did today in the future. I would be careful if I were you. All your possession you had on you have been burned. Anything that would lead your loved ones to you has been disposed of. You are lost to them. In fact, you probably didn't belong with them, did you? Constantly running away from them... You couldn't even go to school because of your beautiful, wonderful curse that has been so blessedly been placed on your head." He managed to word it in the one way that hurt, and she hadn't expected it, and whatever tough appearance she had been managing to hold at the time had all but vanished. It made her start asking questions she hadn't considered. What if her dad didn't care that she was gone. Maybe he thought this was the one time when she disappeared that he would just let her be. She hadn't exactly felt love from the man, maybe he thought it was a blessing. The man hadn't even mentioned those insecurities but the running away... how did he do that? Abi tried to think of her mother as she tried to reply with as much confidence as she could, "They kept me from school to protect me, because they loved me. Even if I kept running away from them, they were always happy to see me at the end of the day... so who's to say I /didn't/ belong with them?" "Who's to say indeed... Only you might know." The men rested on hand on his cheek as if he was still completely relaxed by the response. "You must keep your rebellion at bay though, or other's will pay as much as you will... We really don't want to hurt you unless we have to. You and Tomas are precious to us after all. You will always have a home here with us. Over time you will see that." The man then criss-crossed his hands once more in front of him, smiling at Abi. "That will be all for now. Hopefully I will see you again in more pleasant circumstances. You will be escorted back to your room. You are to do as your told, no questions asked. You belong to us now... Remember that. Unlike the world, we treasure what you are. Now go, enjoy the rest of your time until it is lights out for bedtime..." One of the men turned to open the door while the other stood by Abi, waiting for her to stand up and follow them out. If there was an ending that could have made Abi feel more pissed off, it was that. Do as you're told, no questions asked? You belong to us? Especially that last part. If Abi's arms weren't still healing she definitely wouldn't feel bad if she punched this jerk in the face. But she wasn't a complete fool. Abi stood up and almost walked out of the room without saying anything, but changed her mind at last minute and turned around towards the man, "I don't belong to you. I will never belong to you. And I will never admit I belong to you." she then turned away as she mumbled to herself, "I won't." The man did nothing to respond as the door was shut quietly behind him by the second guard. The two men walked Abi back down the obsidian hallway and back to the oak door, opening it and letting Abi walk in. The other guards that were there earlier were gone, and a lump was hidden under the blankets on Tomas's bed. The locks were opened, and then shut again as Abi stepped in. If one looked in the bathroom, they would notice that the Q-tips were missing now and the lights were dim to give the room an eerie feeling.
The poor man didn't know whether to grab for his mouth or grab for his balls. He grunted as he stood as if he had to pee, trying to conceal how much pain he was in. The other cloaked figure stood there, simply tilting their head as they watched the scene unfold before them. As soon as he could, the man stood straight up, grabbing Abi by the throat and shoved her hard against the wall. "You're stupid, you know that?" the man spat, pressing his hand into Abi's throat. "You need to be taught some manners." His hand shook Abi a bit as if he was wrangling a small cat, threatening to squeeze the life out of Abi right then and there. His arms were strong, in fact, if anyone noticed, his muscles were pretty buff as if he lifted weights. He then let go, shoving Abi hard to the ground and stalked around her like a hawk eyeing its prey. "I know just what to do with you," he muttered in a dark tone. He then grabbed Abi harshly by the arm, attempting to yank her up to her feet. If Abi had actually known what Joshua did for a living, she would know where most of her reflexes came from. However, they weren't exactly doing her much of a favor when she couldn't breath and was pinned to a wall. When she was thrown down, she had hit her head off the ground, and that had only made her dizzier when the man attempted to yank her up again. But if there was anything that could be said at this point, it was that Abi wasn't going down without a fight. So when she was at least able to see straight again, she used her feet to try and trip the man before he had fully pulled her up. The man was quick this time, keeping an eye on Abi and her quick reflexes. "This way," he growled, shoving her forward to the hooded person standing at the door, who quietly moved away and watched from under the veil of the hood. He kept a death grip on her shoulder, digging his nails through the robe as he attempted to escort her down the hallway of the dismal place, light by fire torches and lined with obsidian stonework. Abi was purposefully not making it easy for them to escort her, at one point in their dragging she responded, "I just wanna let you know, if you're planning on torturing me, I'm a masochist. It's not gonna get you anywhere." She was seriously bluffing at this point just trying to find something. "Silence." The man was angry, his vibrant blue eyes sparked with rage as he dragged her down the hallway. Spoiler: Spoiled for Disturbing Images, Read At Your Own Risk The sound of splashing water and muffled coughing could be heard drifting from one of the rooms, followed by stifled sounds of words trying to come out, but it sounded like pleading. More water splashing, the scary choking, and then right after that more water. The man pulled her into the room as the sound of spluttered coughing coming from the throat washed over the three figures. Two other men in black robes and veils stood by a small figure dressed in a white robe strapped to a table, dripping with water droplets. No doubt it was Tomas, but his head was covered with some kind of brown sack cloth, obscuring his face from view. His chest raised up and down heavily, trying to breath through the damp cloth as sounds of whimpering came from underneath. 'Just... make it stop... Just stop...' Tomas's thought as he laid there, trying so hard to catch his breath. 'Please... please... I can't breathe...' "Table is taken," one of the veiled people by Tomas said. "I don't need it," said the man. He then yanked Abi to the wall where chains dangled from the stone. "You don't like to be locked up? Well, here." The other figure, being silent, came over to the other side when the man gestured with his head for him to come over. Soon they attempted to clasp iron wrist bands over Abi's wrists to restrain her to the wall. Abi was distracted by Tomas for the moment, until she realized they were trying to restrain her, which only made her start freaking out more. She was kicking and flailing like a senseless animal, there wasn't anything methodic to it. She felt another one of the figures grab her head and keep it straight against the wall, which only made her hurt herself more when she flailed, when she heard one of the bands snap in place, she stopped and spoke again, despite having been told to shut up before, "You know, it's really upsetting that I don't get to see all of your faces. Is it uniform, or does it make looking in a mirror easier?" The silent figure was kneed in the gut by Abi's flailing and stumbled back, but Abi was restrained now. The figure clutched his stomach, walking around to try to recover. 'Abi...?' Tomas's thought sounded out weakly as he turned his head on the table to the sound of her voice. One of the veil figures left Tomas's side, filling up two buckets of water in a large metal sink while the other stood by. "You just never learn, do you Tomas?" the one by Tomas scolded, their voice sounding like an old woman. "You wanted a companion, didn't you? Now look where it's gotten you." 'I'm sorry...' Toma's weak thoughts came out, almost sounding as if he was going to cry. The man suddenly yanked on a chain, pulling Abi's hands over her head stretched out as if she was preparing to fly. The chain was wrapped out of Abi's reach around the handle and then he turned to face her. "Maybe time here will teach you about rebelling..." The one at the water sinks came back over, placing one of the buckets down. The other hooded person, who seemed to be an old lady, filled a smaller container with water, pouring it over Tomas's head without warning. The boy tensed under the restraints, his back trying to arch as his moved to fight the water being poured over the hood. He gagged, still not able to fight the sensation his brain was trying override but failing. Abi wasn't quite sure if she was in more pain from the sudden yank from the chains or from watching Tomas' struggle and hearing his apologizing. She managed to supress screaming although her face indicated she wasn't enjoying it. 'Why the hell are /you/ apologizing?' she let out in a painful sounding thought, as if her screams were thrown into the mind instead. "There, that should keep you in check..." The man gestured to the silent one who was finished nursing his wounds to start following him out. "Maybe you'll learn by example," he said to Abi, smirking at her as he made his way out of the room. More water was dumped on Tomas and his fits of struggle were becoming weaker and weaker with each time the mysterious lady kept throwing liquid on his hood nonstop. 'I was lonely... they...' His thoughts were fading as his coughing was sounding hoarse, almost pathetic as if he was getting close to death. The other who brought the buckets raised a hand to stop the old lady. "Let him be," a quiet voice sounded. "He's had enough." The lady scoffed, tossing the smaller container back in the second bucket of water, still full and ready to use. She then yanked off Tomas's hood, and the boy took in a grateful gasp of air, spluttering as water came out of his mouth soon afterwards,. He then turned his head to the side, taking in deep breaths like he was a fish out of water. "Lesson has been learned for now," the old lady sniffed, and then turned away from Tomas, leaving him bound to the table as she and her companion walked out of the room as well, leaving Tomas and Abi alone. She was definitely in more pain watching Tomas than from the suspension. And now, she was probably more confused. She didn't try making Tomas talk or anything, she just let him have the chance to breath, but as she waited, she already felt her arms start to go numb, and it was starting to hurt even more. Once Tomas's breathing came to mostly normal, he spat out the extra water still lingering on his lips. He turned his head weakly on the table as puddles of water began to form under his body and head. The boy then forced his eyes to open and squinted, realizing that his vision was a little fuzzy. But there was Abi, up on the wall and suspended. "That look like it..." His voice was strained and then he coughed, shaking his head as he pushed his vocal chords to talk again. "... hurts." Tomas felt the cool breeze of the air conditioner brush over his wet skin and shivered, flexing his wrists weakly against the restraints. "Thanks... you too..." Abi responded unsure of exactly how to respond in this situation. Or maybe she hadn't heard him right. She closed her eyes and was breathing heavily. 'What were you saying... about being lonely? I would have figured that you'd probably feel alone but you seemed to be saying something else with that comme-' "Oh god make it stop." Abi whispered when the numbness reached her shoulders. Tomas watched helplessly as Abi was hurting, wishing he could do something to help her out. He pulled on the restraints a little harder, only to feel them tighten around his wrists. "They saw I was lonely... That I didn't have anyone..." Tomas's voice was hoarse, but he forced himself to talk, clearing his throat again and again. "And that I was starting to get depressed... They went out, looking for another... They found you... And..." He let out a tired laugh that sounded like gagging and then swallowed down the lump in his throat. "I'm being stupid... They're just going to do what they want to do... regardless... What I say." "Frankly... if they cared at all about the fact you were depressed... they probably wouldn't... have..." Abi took a deep breath before continuing through her teeth, "Kept you locked in a cell. Sure, good behavior's probably gonna make life a hell of a lot easier, but **** that. I went through that mentality for eight. ****ing. years. Making myself feel like I shouldn't be alive." Abi felt tears come out of her eyes and she whispered, "I'm sorry, if I had just shut up and played along you wouldn't have been- AGH." The blue haired girl's attempts at hiding her pain were no longer working, and she was pretty sure based on the blurriness of her vision, that she was probably bawling her eyes out. "Abi!" Tomas was going back into panic, but not for himself this time. He just met the girl, and she was older than him, but he felt like he had to protect her. He pulled at his restraints, only to realize he wasn't going anywhere. He knew what the wall felt like, he had that one before too. It felt like one's lungs would collasp on themselves sooner or later. "Hey!" he coughed out, calling out to someone as he shivered in the cold. "Heeeeeey!" Tomas knew they were out there, they wouldn't leave them completely alone. Maybe they were not trying to listen to them and leave them alone. Tomas wasn't going to have that though. "HEY!" he shouted as loud as he could, his throat hoarse and his voice strained. Smaller hooded figures walked in, four of them to be exact. They looked like they were the sizes of young children, two stood on either side of Tomas, waiting for him to speak. "How much longer, for Abi?" Tomas breathed out, looking over at his new friend worriedly. One of the hooded children raised both hands up, showing that the poor girl had ten more minutes. "I'll trade less time for her," Tomas croaked out, getting straight to the point. "You know what I mean..." The cloaked figures looked at each other, as if silently deciding what to do. After a few moments, one reached in their cloak and pulled out a needle with a clear tube of sorts and a small valve at the end of the needle, like the one hospitals used for IVs. One of the cloaked figures were opted to step to the door while the other two stood around the one getting the material ready. An excited, odd energy of sorts started to grow around the small beings, as if they were anticipating something good to come their way. Abi cringed as she tried to look at Tomas through her blurred vision, "What the hell are you doing? I... I can hang on for ten more minutes..." She didn't sound too sure, but she sure as hell wasn't gonna have Tomas getting in more pain because of her again. Granted, she had no idea what exactly was going on. "It's not going to hurt," Tomas said as he closed his eyes, clenching his fists and he briefly mentally prepared for what was to come. The one prepping the equipment pulled out an alcohol swab, gauze, and bandages, carefully setting it on the table where it wasn't wet. The alcohol swab was pulled out of its packaging and swiped across a spot on Tomas's neck. The needle with the valve was then attached to the rubber clear hose and the little cloaked demon was ready for action. "Don't get mad at me... Just don't look. Try not to look," Tomas breathed out, keeping his eyes shut as he waited. The needle was then pricked into Tomas's neck, causing him to only wince slightly and then relax his hands as he took in slow, deep breaths. Crimson liquid began to come out of the hose and the end of the tube disappeared under the hood. The tube moved slightly as if it was being sucked heavily, the being taking in three big gulps. Hands reached out and turned off the valve, and then it was passed to the next being who waited quietly. More sucking, then passed to the next one; this continued until all four little monsters had three good sips of "psychic milk". As the one who pricked Tomas in the first place was cleaning up Tomas's neck, one of the little figures ran out of the room. "Hang on, Abi," Tomas sighed out weakly as the gauze then bandages were applied to the place where the needle had stuck him. He continued to breath in and out, forcing his eyes to open as he moved his head lethargically to the side, trying to see how his new friend was doing. Abi wasn't good at following orders. And she sure wish she was after that moment. It was almost as if her vision intentionally was as clear as day, just so she could see everything that went on in all its crimson detail. Everything that could have been distracting was still, as if she was watching a movie on television. She heard every little slurp that came from the kid's mouths, and Abi's eyes were widened in shock. This was what these people did. This is what was going to happen to her. Adults, kids, elders, whoever, were going to drink from her as if she was some flavored smoothie that gave them powers. And she was watching it happen, as opposed to hearing what would happen explained. Needless to say, Abi was horrified, and whatever pain she was in, she wasn't feeling anymore. She wasn't very responsive at all. Through the haze, Tomas could see Abi's face. The reaction to it all was expected, but he still couldn't help but to feel some shame swell inside in of him. The little figure came back with at least four other hooded figures. Two went to Abi's aid while two went over to Tomas and began to undo the bands that held him down silently. The ones in front of Abi unhooked the chain and began lowering her from the wall, unclasping the iron clads that were on her wrist. Tomas was freed from his bonds as well and was gradually sat up. He was shaking from the cold and being soaked didn't help with that either. One of the figures at his aid retrieved a blanket and placed it around his shoulders while the little child figure came to the adult's side, holding up a juice box and a power bar for Tomas to take. Body shuddering and teeth clattering, the boy took the items silently and began to drink the juice first. His vision was spotting and his being was weak... But he should have been used to all of this by now. When she was lowered, her feet were surprisingly shaky when she touched ground. What wasn't surprising was how weak her torso and arms felt when they released her wrists. They felt like noodles, flimsy, not useful at all. But they still really hurt. Abi felt like she was going to collapse for a moment, but one of the two figures seemed to notice this and helped hold her up just before she fell.

Realizing she had been here a while in Walter’s office and that her arm was going to be alright for now, she pushed off the desk and began to walk to the door. “I have to leave,” she said, “I need to check up on the security and other things for my father. It was nice chatting with you, Walter. It was a good break from the mundane days of my life, unlike yesterday.” She then put her hand on the door handle and began to turn it, hoping that she didn’t seem rude. She just wanted to make sure her father knew she could be trusted and dutiful as she always been. “Kay.” Jex obediently closed his eyes and felt Ryan push the wheelchair out of the infirmary and out into the hallway. He didn’t dare cheat to use his powers to figure out what Ryan was doing; he trusted him. Still, it was strange he didn’t hear anything at all in his head… It was as if someone shut off the light in his brain, and he couldn’t turn it back on. Or there was a wall there and he couldn’t break it down and see over the other side. Jex’s thoughts were interrupted when he felt a cool breeze caress his cheek and took in a breath, realizing that they were outside. He was tempted to open his eyes, but then shut them even tighter. Now was the time to trust. Ryan wasn’t going to do anything to hurt him, he felt that much. He then heard a babble of a stream, and could smell mossy, pleasant water smell in the air. He then heard Ryan’s words that he was going to pick him up and braced himself, feeling his heart beat rapidly as he was held close to the younger boy’s warmth. He was then sat down on a wooden bench, and then was told he could open his eyes. Jex’s eyes flutter opened and he saw a stream, a tree, and a beautiful sunset in the evening sky above him. He breathed out in wonderment, and then looked over at Ryan, only to see the boy was tearing up. He frowned, and then he was hugged by Ryan. Jex’s eyes softened and he hugged the teen back, kissing him gently on top of his head as he brought Ryan closer to him. “But you didn’t,” he said softly, laying his head on top of Ryan’s and began to caress the boy’s hair. “I’m still here…” “There are only four to rescue,” Errol said, pulling out a lighter and began to flick it on and off. “All the others have died… Colton, Carter, Mai, and Shane are the only ones left alive at that place. This world is too cruel…” Errol then put the lid on the lighter and looked at the four he had selected to go rescue the other four from the hell that awaited them. "It's time for you to get ready to go. You will go by four wheelers, one for each, and stay off of the main road. There was a break in the fence surrounding the facility on the south side when we were able to look at the security footage, closest to the warehouse shed where the sewer system leads to the prison cells. Brendan will send you all a map to follow as soon as Jean does his job. Go." Danni didn't hesitate and motioned for Alex, Lief, and Ken to follow her. Outside were the four, four wheelers, each of them equipped with two helmets and were the color of the dessert which was a sandy brown. Danni sat on one and turned on the engine, surprised how quiet it sounded. "Wow... these are gonna be good," she mused, cranking the engine. It barely got louder than what it first was, but she felt the power of them underneath her. The students had been four wheeling out in the desserts and mountains before as part of their field training and Danni was happy they were going to put it into use now. "I hope you all remember how to work these things," she said to the boys as she slipped on her helmet. “Shame, shame. Miss on mind game, hm?” Kytheria then waved once to her partner and then began to walk down the hallways of the laboratory. Finally she was going to get out of this horrible place. She had been itching the whole time to strangle a few of the psychics and choke the light out of them, now she was getting out of here. “Colton!” Mai cried out when she realized the boy was trying to fight against the robot with all his might. She put her hands over her mouth and watched in horror as the boy tried to use his powers to overcome the robot. The collar around Colton’s neck suddenly activated, sending a powerful shock wave through the boy’s body to try to subdue him while the robot was fighting to throw Colton off his shoulder and on to the floor. It would then try to stick a needle in Colton with fluid to mollify the boy enough to be groggy and weak, while the other arm was being pulled back at lengths a human arm could not. An alarm system suddenly went off as well as the room was bathed in a red light. More robots began to roll in, surrounding the boy and waiting to see if the medic robot would be able to subdue him. The guards around Shane’s dropped their guns and began beating each other up as their eyes turned dim. Suddenly metal walls fell around Shane’s cell, blocking him from the view of anyone from the outside. The men instantly stopped and looked up at each other, confused of what just happened. But then the alarm system began to go off and they picked up their guns, hustling out of the room. Kytheria didn’t stop walking when robots and others zoomed passed her as a loud alarm system was sounding off through the whole facility. She giggled to herself, figuring of the “subjects” were acting up finally giving Lucas and others some action to deal with. “Not my monkey, not my circus,” she said to herself, grinning like a Cheshire cat as she walked to the back of the facility where a body bag and a black van was waiting for her.
Nikola was interrupted before he even started to talk to Caleb by another voice, this one sounding peaceful and serene. Well, at least he didn't have to go on about how embarrassing his death was. What would his girlfriend think of him? Sheesh. Girl friend, oh, right... He then snapped to attention when he saw the woman with wings and almost stumbled back into the table behind him. Well, angels were not what he was expecting. Especially ones that knew his name and everyone else it seemed for the matter. As soon as Aaron introduced herself, Nikola tried to process it the best he could... Questions were buzzing in his mind earlier, but now they were silent as soon as Aaron had mentioned it. A door had been made with just a wave of a finger, and Nikola could only watch dumbfounded. Weird. This whole thing was weird. But he couldn't sit here and speculate all day; that would get him no where at this point. Ducking his head and putting his hands in his pockets, Nikola was the first one to walk to up Aaron, meeting her gaze once and then looked ahead, stepping through the door. Gwen hung back, standing a little behind Ken as she looked at the door. She was unsure what to make of it all... Everything seemed like it was made into puzzles to solve odd things. She was interested of the contents in the box, but she wasn't sure if she should touch it or take one. Camilla was the one who opened the box after all, and Gwen didn't want to seem rude or snobbish. But there was no time to focus on it. She observed Aaron from where she was, fascinated by the angel wings and the beauty of the lady before her. She was a moderator she said. What did that mean though? She didn't know. She didn't feel brave enough to step up though until Ken did though.
At Raven Sun of Idle Chatter At the Academy of Delayed Planning At Ariel Labs of Doom Kassandra smirked at Walter’s first question, finding it quite amusing. “So you are trying to flirt with me after all,” she mused out loud, resting her rump against Walter’s desk as she leaned against it. “Yes, I am single. I don’t have time to go out and meet with people. Father wants me to deal with the internal affairs of Raven Sun, making sure everything is running smoothly in the background. With the reckless young members we have had, they keep me very busy lately. Although I don’t know how long that would last, seeing how they’re going to be kicked out today.” She tapped her long fingers on the side of the work table, looking at the wall ahead of her. “You really don’t have much of a choice when you’re born into something as complicated as Raven Sun… If I were to choose otherwise, Father would probably not object so much. It’s become so much a part of me, I don’t know if I would have chosen something else if I was given the choice to join Raven Sun as a bystander or not. Your turn,” she said, looking right at Walter. “What made you join Raven Sun?” “Alright then,” Errol said with a smile. “We’ll be on our way them.” TIME SKIP: Eight-Nine hours later The tension was high as the small team left behind waited in a Minnie RV, parked at least fifteen miles from the main facility. Errol had sent the group of four to be ready to move, but they would be in hiding until they received word. Using his psychic shield to protect his small group and spatial sense to figure out where everyone was, he was in deep concentration. He sent Jean and Christie out with one of his nice, old fashion black cars that would look rather professional like it was government owned. Now it was to wait for everything to start playing out. Monitors were set up, ready to be used for Brendan when Errol and Christie took down the extra security tight on the place. Jex nuzzled into Ryan’s hand, breathing out happily as he reached up and placed a hand over his. “I missed you too… Sorry I was out for a while. If something happened to you, I don't know what...” He then made the pouty face again, puckering out his bottom lip to try to look sad. “You didn’t kwiss me.” he chided, sounding like a little kid who didn’t get a lollipop at the grocery store. Mai felt slight vibrations from her bed as the locks were clicked off, and then she realized what was happening. She glanced up at Colton, wiping the tears from her cheeks. “What are you…?” She watched as he took off the breathing mask, purposely destroying it the best he could. She took in a sharp breath and looked at the prison doors, watching as the medic robot came in right on cue. “Oh dear, it seems your breathing mask has broken. I wonder how this could have happened.” The medic robot picked it up and scanned it with its optics, assessing the damage that was done to it. “It seems as if you need a new one. I will be right back.” Mai held her breath as she looked down at the bedsheets, trying not to give Colton away. Although robots could not read body language or minds very well, she was still afraid. Never had she attempted to escape with someone before, let alone the fact she could hardly walk, let alone hardly sit up. “The cat only deals her deck handed to her,” Kye said to Isabella’s comment to her, bowing her head. She then felt a vibration in her pocket and took out her phone, wiping up a quick text message reply to whoever sent her the message. “Younglings think they know so much,” she said as her fingers flew across the small screen, “know so much the world will squish them squash. Good deeds, mention ye…” She sent the message and placed it back in her pocket, her eyes twinkling like she received something fun. “Mind tricks, mind bends, parlor games we sometimes play… Role of hero, to be well praised. Message from Raven Sun, assignment to have made. Come with, or will stay…?” she trailed off when Lucas asked Isabella his important question, not wanting to intrude on anything for the time being. She needed to get going soon though. “Pah, what are you talking about, kid?” the man said, smirking as he aimed the gun at him. “They never liked me anyways.” “What, he’s reading your mind?” the other man asked, looking over at him. “Yeah, spouting off some weird **** about all you guys working against me or some conspiracy theory like that, like we’re a team or something.” All the men laughed, even the ones finishing cleaning up the blood. “You got some nerve kid,” one said with a cheesy grin, standing up with blood soaked gloves and bio suite sleeves. “You have a good day now.” The two men then filed out of Shane’s cell, pushing Carter’s dead body away while the two men with guns stayed behind. “You’re a weird kid, you know?”
At Raven Sun of Idle Chatter At the Academy of Delayed Planning Kassandra watched as Walter demonstrated the weapon he had created for Raven Sun. She knew what it was, but she was fascinated with how he explained it. She was even more intrigued when the man wield the sword and used it as if it were a mere toy to him. Glancing at the pencils that had fallen to the ground, she noticed the clean cut and an eyebrow slightly perked up in amusement. Was he trying to show off to her? Or just simply showing the weapon? Not being able to read that social cue, Kassandra watched as Walter picked up a mere rod and began to explain the workings of the mind, but not the rod. He then turned the tables, directing the conversation back on her now. Hiding her discomfort, she folded her arms across her chest, being careful about the wounded one. “I don’t know what you can gleam from me, but you can try to ask anything,” she stated, almost daring him to spout off just about whatever came into his mind. Other than that, she was going to keep her mouth shut for the most part. It was what her father trained her unintentionally to do after all. Errol held up an official government I.D. badge, already made for Jean. “You will be named Agent Skully, working for the CIA. You received numerous complaints of a girl who has been doing law breaking things with supernatural abilities that caught the neighbor’s attention. What that scenario is, you two will have to make up that together. As for the little telepathy problem…” Errol held up an earpiece and then placed it on the desk, sliding it to Jean. “The device has psychic DNA coded into its algorithm, which is information stored in a server somewhere. So what it actually does is that when the devices are clamped on to the psychic, it has a sensitive surface that feels the prisoner’s skin cells. Upon touch, it sends some kind of electrical signal throughout the body that primarily attacks that part of the brain that allows for psychics to do their powers in the first place, thus blocking the ability for them to infiltrate your mind.” Jex grinned at Ryan, and then noticed the tear stained cheeks, the redness of his face, and how tired he looked. His smile faded, but only for a moment. “Whoa!” he was caught off guard when Ryan suddenly picked him up with ease and held him close for a moment. Jex was a pretty light person because of his metabolism, but it was still striking to him. Even though the boy knew Ryan pretty well at this point, he still couldn’t help but to brush as Ryan carried him over to the wheelchair and carefully placed him down. “Ha, yeah!” Jex smiled up at Ryan at him being mentioned as the big strong hero and sighed out dreamily like a fangirl exaggeratedly. “Oh Mister Strong Hero, Sir,” Jex cooed in an embellished high pitch girly voice. “Where will you carry me off to next? Where shall we run to? Oh! I fear there’s no safe place for us!” Jex placed the back of his hand dramatically on his forehead and slouched in the wheelchair, adding on to the show he was putting on for the one he liked. “Now, now sugar plum. Before you run off with your new hero, be sure to keep track of odd things popping up,” Nurse Alyce said while continuing to write down things. “Aches, pains, missing memories, you name it. Other than that, you are free to go.” Jex sat up in the wheelchair, coming back to serious mode. “Yes ma'am, will do,” he said quietly to respond to Nurse Alyce before looking up at Ryan with a sad puppy dog expression with big eyes and a goofy frown.
At Raven Sun of Idle Chatter At Ariel Labs of Doom At the Academy of Delayed Planning The Weird Other Furnished Cell Somewhere in Pebble Beach California “That’s… an interesting way to put it,” Kassandra mused softly, keeping her eyes on Walter. She wasn’t expecting the man to open up so freely to her as he just had, but there it was. “It’s a good thing my father’s heart had changed from those that were previous before him, otherwise your words would have been seen as a threat or those of a traitor.” She sighed out lowly, finally standing up from place as she went to Walter’s workbench, deciding to be a bit nosey. “But enough of that…” There were other questions on her mind, but she decided to let them go for now. As a Landen, she needed to show dignity to her family tree, not become too personal with the people she worked with. Although her older brother was now married and had three beautiful kids, Kassandra was an exception to the happy life. Her younger brother had strayed away to different paths, someone she was very close to before. As a result, she felt as if she had to do anything possible to win her father’s heart to prove that she had no malice or opposing feelings for what her father did for the public or this organization. But for now, she wanted to stall and get to know some of the members in person rather than through watching everything on camera or reading through files. “What else are you working on?” she asked, keeping her serious expression as she looked over her shoulder at him from where she was at. After an awkward silence because Maka forgot that Benjamin existed while writing out the last reply, Benjamin finally spoke up. “The verdict is that the both of them will be blotted from Raven Sun as if they never existed here in the first place. This means that they will be their own free agents, but they will still be our ally. Which also means we cannot intervene if she gets involved with Tobias somehow in the future. That will be up to you to deal with alone. This also means that if they are caught by the government, they will have to abide by the rulings and laws of this country. We may or not may not bail them out, depending on the severity or stupidity of the crime.” He sighed out, gripping the handle of his cane more tightly. “They are to be released immediately. As our ally, they can ask us for help on certain missions they decide to take up on in the future, but they will have limited access to our database and our files. We may ask them for help, but they can turn it down without prejudice. As her father… I won’t doubt you will want to help her out and I will not stop you if you do. We have cut off their payments from us, their files are under lock and key, but they will receive about $10,000 each to start out their new lives out on their own. I believe that’s rather generous, don’t you think? And if they pose as a threat to us at any time, we will not hesitate to cut off our alliance with them and we will dispose of them… We must for our protection. No one else will defend Raven Sun but us.” Mai was about to speak through mind to Colton when another voice invaded her brain. She almost pushed Shane out of her head out of fear, but then stopped herself when she heard him apologizing to her and for what had happened. Her lips twitched in contempt as she forced herself to listen, shutting her eyes once more. Wait, the three of us? Wasn’t there a little boy? “Ah man, one of the robots went on the fritz again!” a voice shouted down the hallway. “Someone died?” another voice boomed. “Yeah. Tch, shame, he was young too.” Mai gasped and clasped her hands over her mouth. One of them had already been killed… No, not the little boy… Tears came to Mai’s eyes as she realized what had happened, or figured what happened. Colton and Shane were planning to get out, she needed to be on board as well. Was that why Shane did what he did to her yesterday? To look convincing? Maybe. Mai forced herself to sit up in bed, groaning as her tired limbs screamed at her not to move. She felt a wave of nausea come over her, but fought it off as she blinked her eyes rapidly, placing a hand on her forehead. She needed to be ready to move quickly, but... I don’t know if this is going to work, she sent through her mind to Shane. I can hardly move… She looked at Colton, tears streaming down her face as she realized how hopeless this was going to be. He was going to fight for one more day… Maybe Colton would have better luck getting out than her. Four men in white jump suits wearing rubber gloves, white face masks to cover their nose and mouth, and a stretcher with a body bag on it came in to Shane’s view. They all wore black headbands around their foreheads that projected some sort of low frequency that was somewhat annoying to those who carefully listened. If a telepathist or a telekinetic tried to mess with it or the brains of the user that were wearing them, a horrible frequency would shriek out and cause painful noise patterns to be brought out. “Look at them, so pathetic,” one of the men sneered. “Stupid kid. We wouldn’t have to clean up this damn mess.” “Less complaining, more working.” Two entered into Shane’s cell well the other two aimed plasma guns at Shane. “Don’t try anything stupid, kid,” one of the men with the guns said. The two men carelessly picked up Carter’s body, his eyes still opened in shock and blood dribbling out of his mouth as more blood dripped from his bullet ridden body and on the floor. They then brought the body out of the cell, placing it on the stretcher and pulled the bag over the boy’s body, concealing it from view. The two men then grabbed mops and buckets, using them to clean up the blood and scrub it from the floor. The blood began to flow down the drain of the prison, washing away all evidence that something had happened. They then scrubbed the mattress with bleach the best they could, getting most of the blood strain out, but not all of it. Kye giggle-snorted at what Isabella was saying, waving a hand at her. “A mark, yes, yes? A mark, reject.” She smirked and leaned up against the wall, watching her poor friend wanting to try almost anything right here and there to stop from his mind being manipulated ever again. “Ink, I do not think. Need more knowhow, hm? The hat, I know all.” She placed her fingers on the brim of her hat, letting her fingers trace over it reverently. She then heard Lukey’s question and giggled. “They tell all, believe me so… No cat is left in the dark while on prowl…” She nodded her head and then crossed her arms over her chest, keeping an eye on Isabella to make sure she didn’t do anything suspicious to her partner. There was already one mishap today, she wasn’t going to let that happen again. “Whispers in the vines became clamors in the night. Traitor one, traitor two, tsk, tsk, tsk… Don’t say the cat didn’t warn them so. Sloppy and loppy they became, think through mud, try hard again and again.” She sighed, rubbing at the bridge of her nose. “Mishaps and misdeeds being taken care of without me. Fine, fine. All will be well in the morn.” I’m alright for the most part, Danni sent to Brendan, keeping her eyes forward as she half listened to Errol. Just tired, but not tired enough to sit out on this one. She didn’t want to go through the details of what happened at the hospital and made sure she kept those thoughts under lock and key. Everyone needed to focus on this, not other stuff that had happened outside of the academy. Danni half-listened to Alex, resisting the urge to shoosh, backtalk, or do something Danni-like to him. Instead, she showed her confirmation to going to the labs by staying silent, letting others pipe up about not backing out. No one was being a wuss, good. “Nurse Alyce will take care of it,” she said quietly to Ryan, putting her hands on her hips as she waited for Errol to continue on after the votes for staying or going were tallied. There was nothing she could do now for that kid, it was out of her hands. She knew that the nurse was pretty good at her job though and that her cousin would be right as rain in no time. It was then Jean almost asked her the same question as Brendan did, but it was out loud. She sighed out, deciding to fold her arms over her chest. “Chaotic,” she mumbled to not disturb the meeting. “Jex was knocked out cold when I sent him to Nurse Alyce… Had to get some brain surgery… He had a blood clot from the beatings.” She felt a heaviness hang over her head and trailed off. Focus, she thought to herself, realizing that there were other telepathists in the room. She then heard Christie pipe up and smirked, fingers finding a necklace around her own neck to play with as she listened to everyone. That was her girl… Errol smiled in relief, breathing out and letting his shoulders sag as he leaned on the desk. “Thank you everyone…” His eyes then grew serious, giving Nicole the cue to start passing packets of papers out. “Miss Justice, Carter’s mother, has been a tremendous help and put together the blueprints of the place to study out as well as the others we will be rescuing and the scientist’s profiles that Brendan and I have dug up. The security there is quite powerful, but here’s the plan. One of us is going to pose as a government agent, another is going to play the part of a captured telepathist or telekinetic. The pair will go to the door of the place as their role, and hopefully will be let into the facility. From there, the “government” agent will have to sneak their way to the main computer hard drive, and feed it a USB plug in that has a virus Brendan has made on it to shut down the security. When the cue is given, we will two teams of two will sneak in through the sewers of the area, which go right under the cells of the ones being held there, rescue them, and then enter back the way they came. Once the virus has taken place, Brendan will be able to access the security cameras to guide whoever will go in to operate.” Errol took a break, looking over his group. “I would like Jean to pose as the government official and… Christie, you as the captured telekinetic. They know your face, but they’ve never seen Jean. Will you be comfortable with that, Christie and Jean? I will have to hang back with Brendan to oversee the operation; they know my face. Ms. Justice, you will have to stay behind as well. If Carter sees you, he might give us away. That leaves Alex, Lief, Ken, and Danni as the teams of two to rescue those from the cells… Lief, I would like you to pair up with Danni. Ken and Alex, I would like to pair you two up as well. Lief and Danni, you’ll be rescuing Mai Kendrick and Colton. Ken and Alex, you will be rescuing Carter Justice and Shane Ware…. Does anyone oppose or have any suggestions for these plans?” The nurse watched Ryan sympathically, knowing all too well of the horrors outside of the academy walls. Noticing Ryan’s shaking, the nurse stood and got a blanket, draping it over the boy’s shoulder before crouching down in front of him with a tissue on hand. “I know, sweetie… The world is kind to our kind at all.” She then offered him a tissue, keeping a steady eye on him. The boy was right, there was not much she could do right now to help Ryan out. As if on cue, Jex’s hand squeezed Ryan’s back and he moaned, wincing as he rolled his head to the side. “Ryan,” he raspy breathed out, trying to open his eyes through the bandages but again was reminded he couldn’t. “I thought I had a bad dream…” he continued to say, not knowing where he was at or what really happened. “That someone was shot… and we had to run…” The nurse pat Ryan on the knee before standing up, moving over to Jex. “It’s alright, Jex. You’re at the academy now.” “Nurse Alyce?” Jex was obviously very confused. One minute he was at the hospital, and the next he was told he was at the academy. What had happened in the time he blacked out? He felt a hand on his forehead and knew it wasn’t Ryan. “It’s me, sugar,” she said softly in a mother like tone. “Danni and Ryan brought you back.” Nurse Alyce was quietly examining him with her eyes, feeling through the bandages of the damage done to the poor boy. She then clicked her tongue, humming out quietly. She then looked to Ryan, smiling at him sadly. “You poor things have been through so much, I can see it in your eyes and in the battle wounds… I can help with some things, but others… Looks like the doctors did all they could for that brain of yours, dear,” she said, focusing on Jex. She then looked back to Ryan and smiled. “Don’t be alarmed with what I’m about to do, sweetie,” she said in a calm tone. “I have a little special ability myself. You may want to let go and stand back for a short bit. It’s going to get a bit electrifying in here. It won’t hurt Jex one bit.” As soon as he did let go, Nurse Alyce hovered a hand over Jex’s head. Blue electricity danced over her hands as she focused on the energy of the element before she carefully placed her hand on his head. The little electric currents flowed through her hand to Jex’s bandaged exterior, going underneath his skin to his cells. From there, she began to speed up the cells, forcing them to heal Jex’s damages quickly. When she pulled her hand away, the swelling and bruising were brought down tremendously in Jex’s face, almost back to normal. “Here we are,” she said with a smile, beginning to take off the bandages from Jex’s head. “Almost as good as new. Now I can’t fix any damage to that poor bright brain of yours sugar, but things that were lost will come to you in time, believe me.” As soon as the bandages were taken off of Jex’s eyes, he blinked rapidly, letting them come into focus. He could see color, see the white ceiling and Nurse Alyce hovering over him as the bandages were coming off, and then- “Ryan…” He grinned from ear to ear, sitting up as fast as he could in bed. “Ow.” He winced as he felt a slight headache rupture through his skull, but it wasn’t as extreme as earlier. “Careful now,” Nurse Alyce warned, unhooking Jex from the pain medications and other things he was attached to. “You may feel like a spring chicken, but you just had invasive surgery not too long ago, honey.” She laughed softly as she shook her head, finally done with him. “You can leave, but you are to be back here by the morning, you hear me?” She raised an eyebrow at the boys, putting her hands on her hips. “You need to take some antibiotics to make sure that poor brain of yours stays healthy and fit. Electrical Healing can only do so much, you know.” “Yes ma’am,” Jex responded, saluting before looking up at Ryan with a grin on his face. Despite looking a little on the pale side and messy hair with tired eyes, Jex almost looked the same as he did before all of this. Even the stitches on his head had disappeared and only a small scar from the surgery peeked out from his hairline. “There’s a wheelchair right there,” Nurse Alyce said to Jex, nodding to one in the corner. “Use it for now, just until for tomorrow, sugar. Other than that, you two may be on your merry ways.” She winked at them knowingly and then turned to grab her clipboard and sat at her desk in her swivel stool, writing down notes to add to Jex’s chart. “Jumped you…? Oh… Oh!” The boy finally realized what was happening and watched the older teen as she clutched the book tightly to her chest. Was she going to hit him over the head with that? Never mind… He pulled his knees up to his chest, and hugged them. “I don’t know where exactly we are… But… They call themselves the Obsidian Clan.” He looked at her with solemn eyes, sighing out softly. “They kidnap those with weird powers, and… drink their blood every full moon.” The boy cringed, realizing how strange and disgusting that sounded out loud. “They think they get special abilities… They drank mine several times.” He pulled up the white sleeves of his oriental robe, revealing nasty bruises on his arms. Some looked more recent, others looked old. “They only take enough to fill at least five shot glasses at a time, but…” He sighed out, lowering his arms. “You probably did something to show you had powers.” He pulled the sleeves back down over his arms, covering up the many bruises once more. “You already passed the blood test, otherwise you wouldn’t be in here with me. They make sure you don’t have any diseases or weird things in your body… They want their blood to be clean as possible.” He stopped talking about it, realizing that the more he talked, the more the older teen was going to be disgusted by what was going on. “S-sorry if that’s too much… It’s just been a long time since I saw someone else… Like me.”
"Oh." Nikola was caught off guard by the boy's response, not knowing what else to say to that. Obviously the guy didn't want them, so what else was he going to do about that? Nikola shrugged his shoulders and let out a nervous whistle. "Nice to meet you too," Nikola mumbled sarcastically under his breath. He had to give the kid some slack though. Maybe he died unexpectedly like the rest of them. Then again, who really did plan for their deaths? No one really. He didn't plan to choke on a peanut and die. Man, that's a bad way to go... He sighed, sticking his hands in his pocket, not really in the mood to talk to anyone anymore. Half of everyone were in such a grouchy bad or teary mood. Sure death sucked, but there was nothing anyone here could do about that. "I'm Nikola," the ginger finally let out, forcing himself to at least give a name to the grouchy teen. Gwen followed after Ken, keeping quiet now that everything seemed to go by so weirdly. She looked around the room, seeing how sad and depressed some people were. Only one guy seemed to be super happy and outgoing right now, which was a little out of place, but at least it was a break and change from the mundane mood around the room. She folded her arms over her chest, wondering what to do with herself now that things were quieting down. The bird went and retrieved the key from the hole she created after the grumpy old man snatched the bread crumbs and fed the bird... And now they were opening a box. Was this some weird dream? Gwen hung back behind Ken, feeling shy all the sudden but she was curious to what was in the box. "So... what's in there," she asked Camilla, keeping her arms folded in front of her.
At Raven Sun of Close Calls At Ariel Labs of Doom At the Academy of Delayed Planning The Weird Other Furnished Cell Somewhere in Pebble Beach California "Interesting," Kassandra mused, impressed with the workings of this young inventor. Her father was a tinker himself when he actually had the time to focus on those things, but she figured that Walter would already know that. "It's almost like Kytheria's top hat or my father's hearing aids, although anyone can hear the hertz coming off of those things..." She observed the box in Walter's hand, tempted to touch it and have a deeper look at it, but resisted the urge. This was his invention, not hers to toy with or figure out how they worked exactly. "A defense that's silent, except only to those with psychic abilities." Her lips curved a bit upward. Her father did pick good members after all. When she heard about Walter working on a prisoner, the small rare smile faded and was replaced with her usual serious countenance. "Rose Ryer... High school student, age sixteen... I've seen her file and some footage of interrogations. She holds up as well as undercover operatives, and she's just a kid." Kassandra looked to her bandages, letting her thoughts wander for a while. "Tell me, in your opinion, do you think the world would be better off if psychics were allowed to walk in broad daylight? As normal citizens of the human race?" "I don't... I feel like... It didn't... But it did..." Mai was very confused and at a loss with herself. At the beginning she was prepared to die for Colton, but after yesterday, she wasn't quite sure anymore what she thought. "We'll get through this," Mai said softly, clutching her chest as her eyes finally fluttered open. "We've made it this far..." She turned to look at Colton only to see a breathing mask on him. That's right, he had to get a breathing treatment. "How are you feeling...?" she asked softly, sniffing as she wiped away the tears. That question sounded stupid now she thought about it. "You can... talk to me through here if you can't talk," she said quietly, pointing to her head. He looked pretty terrible, but she needed to hear his point of view. She wasn't over what Shane did to her, but she tucked it in the back of her head for now. It had to be done for her survival in this horrible place. Kye stood up silently, following after Lukey as she listened to the two of them talk. She was getting pretty fed up with this place and the people they had in it, but she had to stick around to make sure her partner was safe and the scientists weren't doing anything too stupid. Carter was shaking, still recovering from the shock of the strange noise that had pierced his ears so violently. He jumped when he felt a hand on his shoulder and quickly turned his head, only to see Shane hovering over him. He could see his lips moving and hear his voice somewhat, but it was still a little fuzzy. The boy watched him silently, his hearing finally coming back to him. Shane looked like he really wanted to help him out... Why was everyone so willing to do that? He didn't get it. He never met them before, and the others before didn't offer to get him out. Carter sat up in his bed, nodding his head before he looked down at the floor, clutching his hands tightly. He just hoped no one else would get in trouble because of him. Deep within Lyle's lab, one of the fighting robots were on the fritz. Even though it was charging and gradually being put back together after it's inwards got screwy by Colton's doing and fired everywhere but at its target, it was twitching, spouting out different robotic commands and languages. It's computer mind felt like it was malfunctioning... Suddenly the robot's eyes had began to glow red. It stepped off the charging pad and began to walk on its on, moving through the hallways of the facility easily. Soon it reached Carter and Shane's cell, stopping short as it's optics examined the scene before it, trying to be silent as possible. Then it raised it's robotic arm, it transferring into a pistol of some sort. BAM! A shot was fired and Carter's eyes suddenly gone wide. The front of his shirt began to seep with red fluid, looking like a flower blooming on a spring morning. The boy was hit, the robot marked its target the way it was supposed to be programmed. As the boy fell back on his bed in total shock, the robot stood there before it began to twitch, then turn around and began to make its way back to where it came from. The light was going out in Carter's eyes as he laid there, gasping for air and growing pale by the second. Blood was pooling under his body, soaking the bed sheets rapidly. The pain was unbearable, worse than the shock collars or the experiments he was put through and even worse then the pain his father had put him through. He thought of his mother as he was beginning to feel cold, wishing that he could hug her one last time... Molly as well... Maybe,,, Maybe his granddad would be waiting for him on the other side... or grandma... someone he knew... Nicole was about to open her mouth to say something when Errol cleared his throat and took a stand. "Thank you for coming everyone." Errol nodded his head to Christine and Brendan to acknowledge what they had said and let the others mull in. "As you know, one of our own was kidnapped about three weeks ago right in front of us. I have called you here because..." He suddenly trailed off when Danni appeared at the door, being the last student to show up. She panted as she leaned against the door, looking worse for the wear, but not hurt. Errol stood a little straighter, questions buzzing in the man's mind as he watched his niece. Danni pushed off the door frame and walked passed everyone to Errol's desk, looking at him with a serious expression. "Jex is fine," she said quietly. "So is Ryan. The other girl... She... Someone..." Errol read her mind and eyes widened in shock, then softened in grief as if the world he held on his shoulders suddenly became heavier. There was a quick, private and silent exchange between the two, Danni shaking her head at some point. Errol then nodded his head and sighed out heavily, knowing it was another issues to address, but at a later time. Danni took that as her cue and bowed her head in respect before moving farther back. She spotted someone familiar and her eyes smiled as she made her way to her buddy Jean. "Hey," she said quietly, standing on the other side of him. "Been a while," she muttered. "As I was saying, I called you hear because we have found the location of where Colton's being held and we need your help." Errol then stepped over to a projector and a blank white board, which suddenly flashed and showed a picture of a lab facility. "In short, this is the Ariel Lab Institute. There are three scientists; one studies robotics, one is a telepathist and seems to be studying her own kind, and two others that are studying our kind, but one of them is currently not there for now... As far as we know, they've been abducting our kind for quite some time. (The slide show kept going, showing pictures of Carter, Colton, Mai, Shane, and the scientists within the facility) Carter Justice is one of those among the kidnapped along with Colton, a girl named Mai Kendrick, and a Shane Ware. Carter Justice and Mai Kendrick are on our Missing Person's Board. Shane is the most recent new arrival though, as of yesterday. The Ariel Labs have been operating for about twenty years, and the subjects have a survival rate of 80% over those years, most of them under the age of 20." Errol paused for a moment, turning to the group before him. "This is a dangerous mission, and I will not lie to you... I can't guarantee we will all make it back in one piece or at all... Those who are standing here before me, do you still want to go through with this?" Danni and Nicole did not budge from their spot. As soon as Danni left, the nurse looked over Jex and his vitals, not bothering to ask Ryan much about what happened or the extent of Jex's condition. She was skilled, one who put information together rather quickly. Amongst her scurrying about to writing Jex's file and checking his wounds, she offered Ryan a light breakfast of fruit, milk, and a bagel. He seemed rather shaken, but the nurse would get to him later. As soon as Jex was finished, the nursed sighed out in relief and then turned to Ryan. "I'm sorry dear, I was trying to make sure things were in order. You seem to be on the low side..." The nurse sat down on a stool close to Ryan, watching him from under her glasses as she folded her hands in her lap. "Anything I can do for you?" The sleeping form was a young boy, who seemed to be no older than fourteen years. He groaned as he was poked, rolling over in bed. "Huh?" He gasped as he suddenly became more alert, realizing that someone new was staring at him. "What?" The boy was obviously confused, sitting up in his bed as he rubbed his eyes, staring at Abi. "Who am I? Who are you? I've... never seen you before. Are you... a new member or something?"
At Raven Sun At the Academy of Delayed Planning Kassandra let Walter do his business, looking around the office as she held up her arm for him to work on. Her eyes landed on the workbench not too far away and see gazed at it, wondering what the man did in here exactly. "What are you working on today?" she asked, indicating to the workbench. Security cameras could only reveal so much at a time. She knew of the holding of a sixteen year old girl, but didn't know about the extent of how close she was to breaking. Although, from the looks of yesterday before things were interrupted, she was close to revealing the location of the hidden telegraphist on their watch list. As soon as Jean had walked in, Nicole came in right afterwards, pushing a little cart along that had donuts, a large bowl of fruit, orange juice, milk, coffee, hot water, and packages of hot chocolate for anyone to mix with coffee creamers and extra cups and bowls for anyone to use. Yes this was a serious operation, but Errol wanted to ease everyone's minds a bit. "Thank you, Nicole," Errol said with a warm smile. He then nodded to Jean to acknowledge the man before he went to the phone and picked up the receiver. "We will begin in just a moment, I need to make a quick announcement." He pressed a button and soon his voice broadcasted through the whole school. "Attention all students and mentors, if you would like to participate in a special assignment, please stop by the Headmaster's office for more details. Thank you." He then shut off the phone and then sent a psychic message to everyone he could within the academy. Today we will be rescuing Colton and Carter. We will need all the help we can get. If you are unable to aid us, that's alright. This is a dangerous operation. If you are interested, please come to my office immediately. He then looked at everyone else and nodded his head, looking to Brendan. "Do you have the virus ready?" "Good morning," Nicole said quietly to Jean, standing close to him. She had her done in a bun today and was wearing grey pants and a well fitted purple shirt with purple and black running shoes. She was ready for action and dressed so she could move around easily if needed to. She felt a little silly dressed like this, but it wasn't like they had to wear uniforms or costumes for this operation. "How did you sleep? I hope you didn't stay at that desk all night." Danni pushed Jex quietly down the hallways to the Infirmary with Ryan's help, not knowing what to say to the shaken boy. She couldn't say it would get any better, because it didn't and she would be lying if she said otherwise. She then heard the announcement over the intercom before more details were sounded off through everyone's mind and Danni gripped the railings of Jex's bed a little tighter. "Stay here with Jex," Danni said as they came to the Infirmary and parked Jex's bed somewhere the nurse could easily access him. "I'm going to see what I can do to help." As she was about to leave, Danni stopped by the door frame and turned to look at Ryan. "You already went through a lot in the last few days. Take a break, enjoy your time with him." She mustered a small smile before she turned away, sprinting towards Errol's office.
Raven Sun At the Hospital of Drama "My father may have issues if I try to change them myself," Kassandra said, looking at the bandaged arm. "I'm trained to do so out on the field, but he would scold me as why I would let a medic's talent go to waste if they were readily available here." She then glanced at Walter and nodded her head once. "You know the extent of the wound, you saw it yesterday when you mended it. I would be more comfortable if you would change the gauze. Should you do it now? Or later on?" Danni gripped the steering wheel, keeping her eyes focused on the road. "You passed out... We're almost to the academy," Danni replied dryly, trying to keep her wits about her. She couldn't save Kiki, she didn't know what was coming. Here she was a third level telekinetic, and she couldn't stop a bullet from killing someone. Errol would be disappointed at her... Jean as well. She chewed on her bottom lip as she made turns, finally approaching the academy gates. Flashing her student I.D. badge to a camera, the gates were soon open and Danni drove in carefully to where it would be easiest to get Jex out. She wondered who those people were that were targeting Jex and killed so coldly, but she knew she couldn't dwell on it right now. Making the ambulance come to a stop, Danni hopped to the back and opened the back doors, beginning to move Jex carefully to the infirmary. "I'm going to take Jex to the Infirmary, see if he needs to stay there or if he can be moved to his room... Can you walk?" she asked, not even looking at Ryan. Jex was out cold, sleeping soundly as the medicine worked through his body.
Confused by the flattery, Kassandra raised an eyebrow as she walked into the office. She had done nothing different from yesterday, and yet he called her pretty? Why? Deciding not to take mind to the comment or take a seat, she stood behind the chair and looked to Walter. This shouldn't take long after all. "I'm sorry to disturb you, if I did," she said, taking note of Walter's work bench and that the man seemed to have been in deep thought when she came around. "I came to ask about the bandages... If you need to change them or not and how often if so." She went right to the point, as always. If she came off as rude or cold, she didn't mean to. She didn't have much of people experience cooped up in the tech room day in and day out, nor was she given the chance of much interaction. Her father wanted to keep her safe, as any father would. After a certain someone went haywire, the hold on Kassandra's life was much tighter and more secured than ever. Benjamin did not want to risk assassination or some other horrible thing from the mysterious party. Her older brother was another story though. He could handle himself just fine.
Akira looked from one being to the other debating what she should do next. With a big intake of air, she sheathed her sword, but kept on guard. "It's been a long day," she muttered, looking over at Gwen and Hunter. "I suppose names need to be shared... I am Akira Nakano, wielder of flames."
At Raven Sun of Calm After Storm At Ariel Labs of Doom "Benjamin, I am going off the grid for a few days. You know I wouldn't do this unless it is important, and it is. Abi is missing. I don't entirely know what's going on, but I'd rather keep it down low and hope to hell this was just a mix-up of some sort. I will let you know if for whatever reason something goes wrong, but I doubt it. Joshua." As soon as the old man read the note, he threw it in the fire place, watching the note be licked by flames. He could handle so many secrets, and this was one of them he could tolerate. Raven Sun had come to a decision, and now it was time to enforce it. Joshua would not have to worry about paperwork anymore. He walked away from his office, cane in hand as he made his way down the hallway to the cells, ready for what was at hand. He soon arrived, seeing Jason standing there, watching his daughter's cell. He approached the man and clapped him on the shoulder like a grandpa would do to an in-law before sighing out lowly. "Are you ready for this?" he asked Jason, being genuine with his questioning. Kassandra walked down the hallway, keeping her eyes peeled as she patrolled the halls. Everyone was under strict command to keep an eye or an ear out just in case something else was to happen. She looked down at her bandaged arm, running her fingers over the gauze. Maybe she should see about the bandages being changed... She could do it, but her father would probably have words with her if she did. Finishing her round, she walked to Walter's office and knocked on his door. " "He does terrible things," Mai whispered almost incoherently. Her eyes were still closed, her mind trying to work overtime to repair the damage that Shane had done. "He's confused, but he's not afraid to hurt others. He's mixed up, and feels bad afterwards, but it..." Tears rolled down Mai's cheeks as she talked, suddenly finding it difficult to spill out. "She stood by, he had a choice... He chose..." She took in shaky breaths, knowing she was probably not making much sense right now. She didn't want to rat out someone who had similar powers, but it still threw her off guard. For a long while, she believed that those with powers were the good ones. The scientists were the bad ones. She would have preferred to face Lyle and his experiments over Shane's and Isabella's mind manipulations. "Did we fight yesterday?" she asked in a strained voice, keeping her eyes shut tightly. The medic robot came in right on cue while the meal robots delivered oatmeal with real blue berries and raspberries on top, milk, orange juice, buttered toast, and some bacon and eggs. The robots set the trays of food on the hospital like tables that could swing over the bed to make it easier for the patients to eat before exiting out. The medic robot gave Colton his daily vitamins and medications after analyzing him. Unlike the fighting robots, this one repelled psychic thoughts of any kind, thus making it difficult to disarm through telekinesis. "You seem to suffer the symptoms of pneumonia. You need breathing treatments, twice daily." The robot's chest opened and out popped some kind of breathing machine with a full face mask attached to the machine with tubes. The robot set it up by Colton's bed, and then handed the mask to Colton. "When you are ready, turn on the machine and keep the mask over your nose and mouth. This should help with the coughing." It then went over to Mai and checked her vitals. "You are experiencing early signs of depression. Chin up, relax for today. Everything will be alright." With that, the robot then exited the room, locking the clear door behind it. Carter was sitting there on the bed, eyes wide in horror. What he was seeing before him was something he had never witnessed in all of his young years, not even with his abusive father. He looked up at Shane when he promised not to hurt him like that, but he was still scared. Not even his little sister did things like that. He slowly nodded his head, swallowing a lump in his throat. He then heard a low pitch frequency (PLEASE BE CAREFUL, THIS NOISE WILL HURT SOMEONE'S EARS, ESPECIALLY IF YOU'RE SENSITIVE TO NOISE) noise and looked up, only to cover his ears soon afterwards as it became more and more intense. "Ah!" Kye walked gradually into view, her yellow eyes locked on Shane as she walked closer and closer to his cell. She was not happy, not in the slightest. Someone messed with her partner; she was going to mess with them back. She pulled out her katana as she approached, letting the blade glisten in view as she walked towards the two subjects. "Little mouse, little mouse... A body louse... Pest, pest, should kill, mmmmm." She licked her sword, staring long and hard at Shane, not seeming to be bothered with the hertz frequencies coming from her hat as Carter yelled out in pain and writhed on his bed. She then pulled back her tongue and lowered her sword, clicking her tongue to the roof of her mouth when it reached 2531 hz and smirked slyly. "Cat will no nice nice next time mouse will mess. Seek to search for kind of yours." She tipped her hat to Shane, and then turned away. "But warn, storm is neigh... Death's shadow close by..." With that threat, she waltzed off, leaving Carter gasping for air as he rubbed at his ears to try to calm them down from the frequencies Kytheria had inflected upon them. The Raven Sun member walked to where Lucas was, crouching in front of the cell before holding out a donut and a cup of coffee to him silently, watching him with a sad countenance on her face.

At Ariel Labs of Doom At the Academy of Hopefully Rescuing Soon At the Hospital of Drama Mai laid there with her eyes closed. She was off of the oxygen mask now, but she was hooked up to many different wires and other tubes. She hadn’t stirred or opened her eyes since the night before and kept still, breathing in and out gradually. There was a note on the outside of the door that read: “You both have done well. You have the day off today. Enjoy it.” Carter laid there in his bed, listening to the noises around the science lab. He remembered all that had happened yesterday and wish he didn’t. Colton did something bad, and told him not to tell. He hoped the man would forget about it, but it wasn’t likely. The wound looked pretty badly. He knew that Colton was trying to do the right thing, but it didn’t get them any closer to getting out of here. It just made things worse. The door opened as Christie knocked on it. Errol had opened it with his telekinesis and then smiled at the girl. “Come in, come in. We will begin the meeting shortly.” Danni listened the best she could, but she was becoming tired by the second. “There are nightmares of different kinds when your powers awaken,” she specified softly. “It probably doesn’t mean anything, your brain is just playing tricks on you. Why don’t you take the next watch?” As soon as that was all arranged, Danni laid her weary body on the hard spare “guest” bed, passing out right away in a deep sleep. ~~~~~~~~~ Kiki skated back to the hospital as fast as she could. She had a bad feeling that something was about to happen and needed to stop it before it did. She shouldn’t have left in the first place, she should have stayed behind a bit longer. Approaching the entrance of the hospital, she picked up her skateboard and ran inside, avoiding confused people, nurses and doctors. She ran to Jex’s recovery room and burst through the door. Danni stood straight up, ready to attack when she saw who it was. It was the strange girl from yesterday. “Kiki?” The pink haired girl was panting and out of breath. “You… Need… To…” Kiki took in a big gulp of air and looked at Danni. “There’s bad men coming! They want to kill Jex, they want to kill all of you! You need to get out of here!” “Wait, what? Who wants to kill us?” But Kiki’s eyes suddenly widened and she ran to the window where Jex’s bed was and spread her arms out in front of her. “No! Please! Don’t kill him! Don’t shoot him! He’s good! He’s actually-“ As Danni began to move, the window Kiki was standing in front of suddenly seemed to explode and the girl cried out, falling to the ground. Everything was going too fast for Ryan to process. Kiki came in, explained what was going on, and then she was gone. "NO KIKI!" “Kiki!” Danni rushed over to the girl, but knew it was too late. The girl had a wound of some sort right in the middle of her forehead, already bleeding on the floor as she stared glassily at the ceiling. “Damn!” Danni turned to the window, only to see a flash of light on the roof of a building. Assassins. A sniper. Danni didn’t know how many they were, but she spotted one of them. Quickly, she used telekinetic push to shove Jex’s bed and medical equipment out of the way, moving away from the window. “We need to get out of here!” Danni shouted to Ryan, preparing to make the move to get Jex wheeled out of this room. She was coming up with a plan, but it was sketchy. “We need to find an ambulance we can highjack and get out of here with Jex. I dunno who else is coming, but we need to move, fast.” Adrenaline running high and angry, Ryan quickly got out of the bed and followed Danni as they pushed him along. So many emotions were running through him: remorse, sadness, anger, terror. He didn’t have long to process, however, as Danni explained her plan someone appeared. Down the hallways, coming towards Jex’s room was a man in a gas mask, walking quickly with a gun in one hand. When security tried to stop him, the man knocked them down and out of the way, five doors down from Jex’s room. He meant business, and he wanted to get it done as quickly and flawlessly as possible. Ryan saw the man coming and thought of an idea. He felt heat coming from one of the storage rooms of the hospital where the blankets were kept to warm up for the patience. Concentrating on that, the heat streamed through the air and quickly slithered it’s way to Ryan’s hand, forming into flames. He was immediately tired from doing such an action as he was so new to his powers, but he managed to pulse a fireball from it and attempted to knock the man’s gun away from him. The man was quick through, moving to the side to let the fire ball hit behind him. The man then aimed the gun and fired, only to have Ryan suddenly appeared from nowhere and punch the man with a clothesline move, knocking the guy back. Ryan immediately felt sapped of energy and began to fall back from Danni, who was moving quickly down the hallway with Jex the best she could. Danni, seeing that Ryan was slowing down, cursed and pulled Ryan towards her with her telekinetic, and since Maka is very tired RPing with herself, they got into an ambulance from the back, hopped in, and drove away. The man and sniper were left behind.
At Raven Sun of Healing Time At Ariel Labs f Doom At the Hospital of Drama "Tch." Benjamin was running into more problems than solutions for these two. If only they would just execute them- No, that would be bad. But that would be good as well. He massaged his chin through his beard, thinking deeply. "We will discuss this more in the morning. For now we'll keep them under lock and key until we can figure out something for them. It's late though, let's all get some rest." Lyle acknowledged Isabella's message with a nod before pushing some buttons and typing in some code. The simulation suddenly froze, ending all fire from the robotic side. The door to the arena opened and Lyle stood there with his hands tucked behind his back "It's time to wrap up for the day. Carter, Colton, it's time to go back to your cells. Lucas, I'll have my medic robot take a look at that hand. Kye made her way passed Lyle and into the arena, hurrying over to Lucas and totally ignoring the other boys. She stopped when she was near him, grabbing for his injured arm as gently as she could and looked it over silently. Darkness shadowed her eyes and she glanced at Colton and Carter, glaring at them as some sort of monster clawed in her to get out. "Bastards!" she whispered, almost tempted to pull out her sword and charge at Colton, but then she stopped and looked back at Lucas's hand. Fingers carefully ghosted over the wounds, and she shuddered, breathing heavily as she fought to keep the rage down. Someone had severely hurt her comrade, and she didn't know who or how exactly. Lucas's gun backfired, that much she knew. But he always took such good care of his guns. This wasn't some kind of freak accident. "Lashing and gnashing they'll face!" Kytheria spat, turning to look at Colton and Carter with warning eyes. 'Alright, don't work to hard now,' Danni replied back. She then "signed out" of the mind link and looked just in time to see Ryan sit up in Jex's bed, panting and sweating. Frowning, Danni stood up and walked over to the bed, keeping her voice low. "Had a bad dream?" she asked, stopping by his bedside. The nurses had come and checked up on Jex earlier, being careful not to wake the pair as they changed out his IV, medicine, and other things. Jex had not stirred at all; he was still in a very deep sleep.
Akira listened to Gwen very carefully, mulling over the possibilities of leaving this place. She had been here a while, training with her abilities and whatnot. What was the use of being isolated here anymore? She already accomplished all she could. Now it was time to step up to the plate and put her training to the test. She didn't trust these people, but if they were her ticket out of here... She raised her sword, swirling it above her head to call back the flames to her sword, extinguishing what was left of the fire all together. She then sheathed her sword, looking to Gwen and Hunter as if she made a decision. Then another person came along. She turned to see another boy, and again Akira's hand was placed on the hilt of the sword. "Another friend of yours?" Akira asked, watching Zephyr.
Akira stared at Hunter long and hard. She didn't know whether to take this guy seriously or not. One minute he was one person, the next he was a totally different person... or thing. "How do I know you two are not lying to me?" she said, her eyebrows furrowing. "You are the rudest, more hormonal people I have ever met. How can I take you seriously? What if this is another one of your mind games you're trying to play on me like the last time?" She kept her hands on her sword, staring long and hard at Hunter. She couldn't trust this strangers, not after all the randomness they pulled on her and invaded her space. "Like I said, I don't know anything about this goddess, or this hero. I'm not the hero you are looking for. There's no one else here. Your "quest", if it's real, is finished. I'm the only one here. And I am not a hero. Neither am I a villain. I'm no one. If you're not making it up, you're wasting your time here."
