Specifically the Mirage Arena. Do you think they'll just axe the feature? Or preserve it in some way? If they preserve it, how do you think it'll be handled? Split screen? Online? Both maybe?
:O
A thing that happened I dunno
Lately, 90% of the time when I go to edit something the actual edit box is completely whited out and unusable. Going into the full editor fixes this (though it flashes white briefly too) Since editing posts is still possible, it's not the end of the world, but I figure someone should be notified.
I don't know why but I just found this incredibly funny
Friend just linked me this, not sure how old it is
Final Mix changes a lot of stuff. They add new scenes that are referenced in later games. So you'd assume it's the definitive version of each respective game, right? But what about the heartless? They change back every time There are other details , but that seems the most pressing
Days still has an iffy story, but the cutscenes have gone a long way towards drastically improving it. Particularly the strong performance by Roxas, and the added scenes that help explain what the Organization is ACTUALLY doing >.> I dunno, just my thoughts, what do you guys think?
I went to a local fair with my nieces and some family today It was surreal Last time I was there, people were wearing beavis and butthead shirts, talking about simpsons, family guy, adams family. Stuff like that Now all the kids are talking about Pewdiepie, Tobuscus, Totalbiscuit, Annoying Orange, Minecraft... It's... weird
I got embroiled in a lengthy discussion with an online friend the other day when I accidentally let slip that I didn't think KH had any good characters. He brought up Riku, saying he went through an immense character arc throughout each game I said i was tired of seeing him deal with the darkness in each game He replied "well without darkness Riku would be a boring character" So that's the thing, isn't that kind of the sign of a BAD character? A character so one note that removing a single external element completely undermines their entire character? But this got me to thinking. Sora, on the other hand, does go through some rather dramatic evolution throughout the series. But a rather bizarre evolution that strikes me more as the series' writing getting more and more incompetent... but it's still an evolution, many people have argued it's even a good one. So, what do you guys think? Are there any characters in KH YOU would argue are good?
A very common descriptor you'll find even among fans of the game. But t's not really accurate. And not in that jerkish loophole way where I say "If something happens, that's a plot" A more accurate description could be "Re:Coded has a self contained plot" or "Re:Coded's barely affects the overarching plot of KH" Re:Coded has a fair bit going on... it's just a lot more focused than a normal KH game. But each world has a subplot, many major events happen within the game itself. Just because these things probably won't carry on to KH3 doesn't somehow mean they don't exist. This kind of stuff pops up a lot in the KH fandom, and a lot of similar anime type fandoms I've seen. There's little to no respect paid to the journey, it's all about those final few details in the last act, even if it's just an info dump. Even if it's never properly built up. It's all about quickly gathering up essentialdetails in some sort of rsuh to get to some ending or other. Sure, ask most people and they'll tell you all you need from Re:Coded is the ending and secret ending. But in my opinion, if you do that, then you're really missing out
Quite frankly, they are. But you wouldn't think that going by most of KH's fanbase. Everything from saying "sure, they did something bad... but it was because they wanted their hearts back!" to saying "Sora is a racist ******* who just hates Nobodies for no reason and tries to kill them because he's the real villain" And everything inbetween Where do you lie on this spectrum? Because honestly? I can't see the Organization as anything BUT the villains. They constantly antagonize Sora and many people related to him. They are constantly enacting evil plans, even when they haven't finished their previous evil plans. It's almost unanimously the Organization members that start fights with Sora, not the other way around, even when people bring up the example of the 'innocent' Demyx. So yeah What makes them not that evil, anyways?
Originally, KH1 was held back by the sound limitations of the PS2 This captures the feel of flying so much better This pretty much sounds like it's missing the lyrics to a Disney song It's like wonderland or something Seriously, dis remastered ost, suddenly kh is that much closer to the old Disney standard
Vanitas' Remnant is the WORST secret boss in KH history. Literally a reskin of Ventus' secret boss with a ridiculous stat buff... and that's it. It's so lazy, it's such bad design. With the benefit of hindsight, so is the Mysterious Figure. Because it's pretty clear that MF is just a buffed version of the second half of the Young Xehanort fight from DDD. A good secret boss? Both Sephiroth fights. Yeah lots of people complain about it being too easy, but the thing is, Sephiroth isn't a SLOG. His attacks are powerful, have huge range, and little lag or start up time... but there are ways to DEAL with these attacks. You don't just sit around waiting for him to stop attacking and hit him with a thunder dash. Sephiroth also introduces new attacks as the battle goes on, and becomes increasingly aggressive as the battle goes on, leading to a good progression. Unfortunately, it looks like KH final bosses are leaning more towards dodgefests with overly specific weaknesses.
Vanitas is a fantastic example of how a boss fight should work in KH It's a highly reactive boss with a huge variety of attacks and weaknesses. Vanitas can be approached in a tonne of ways. You could attack when you get the chance, you could slap him with status effects if you caught him off guard. You could goad him into using specific attacks and exploit weaknesses that way. You could abuse his weakness to wind spells, specifically Tornado. Or you could use the cheapest method, shotlocks. The great thing about Vanitas is that he exists on almost equal terms with the player. His moves look and function like commands, he can use cure, he can use shotlocks. I think expanding on this concept and applying it to more bosses would lead to AMAZING results in future KH games. Rather than simply making stuff like poison or zero gravity or whatever completely useless, make the boss react and try to those moves, but if you catch them off guard, then you CAN use it. Basically, make more strategies viable. Thoughts?
link My friend brought up something quite a while, and this reminded me of it. I guess it IS kinda presumptuous to assume that the voice we heard in KH1 was Sora's mom...
*Unless composed by Yoko Shimomura Don't get me wrong, they're not bad songs or anything, but they're borderline "Sora fights some monsters while I play unfitting music"
http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/125523-Xbox-One-Designed-With-Advertising-in-Mind Xbox One, designed with advertising in mind. Ads will be integrated into entire user experience Kinect confirmed to be used for personalized ads You guys could have just said NOTHING, but no, you need to make sure everyone knows how much your system sucks. I... just... how many people are getting fired from the marketing department? "On Xbox [One], the ad is part of the actual experience, it's not something that is outside. The only difference is that the advertisement we have is quite small and not disruptive so people are not aware of clicking on the banners because they know this is a part of the whole experience on the dash."
Case and point?
