[ scarf of the day | tumblr ] [ occ: to the meetup! ] Hearing Aileen giggle gave Brian a cheeky smile. "With that aside, shall we go?" He replied, "Why yes, of course!" Closing the car door behind the pair, he began to walk towards the entrance of Lacey's. Opening the door, and holding it for Aileen to (hopefully) enter, he casually walked into the restaurant and spotted the others once again. Gesturing for Aileen, Brian approached the group. He opened his mouth to greet them, but figured it would be good for Aileen to come out of her shell around large groups.
[ scarf of the day | tumblr ][ occ: to the meetup! ] Looking to his right, Brian finally saw Aileen leave the building. When she entered the car and greeted with a sweet hello and a warm smile, he returned with, "Hey there, Aileen. How was ballet?" The boy smiled at her and began to drive towards Lacey's. The car skidded to a stop as the duo reached their destination. Brian saw a few people he knew, but it seemed not everyone was here. Pondering on where they could be, the boy opened the car door and proceeded to open the passenger's door. He offered a hand for Aileen, much like how a limo driver would offer their hand to a famous actress about to head for the red carpet. He figured it was a rather... pathetic attempt to lighten the mood.
Here is my entry! c:
[ scarf of the day | tumblr ] [ occ: to the meetup! ] Brian felt his phone vibrate gently, and he checked to see Aileen's reply. He smiled as began to drive off. Good thing Aileen was at the studio, because it was on the way to Lacey's. On the the roads, the boy drove extremely carefully. This resulted in several angry teenagers--even one soccer mom--to jeer at him as their speedy cars passed him. For once, he didn't care what others thought of him; he just wanted to be okay. Soon enough he reached the dance studio and, instead of texting, simply honked the horn to signal his appearance. He waited patiently for Aileen to emerge from the doors, where she would be nice and safe with him. He had to keep her safe, it was a complete absolute.
[ scarf of the day | tumblr ][ occ: to the meetup! ] Brian adjusted the scarf around his neck until it was the perfect balance of fluff and comfort. He pulled out his phone and texted Aileen. It was already like 11:35 and he couldn't afford to be late. He wanted to be there as soon as possible, where they would be... others. More people means more protection... right? Shaking the thought away, the boy slipped the phone back into his pocket and headed downstairs. There he saw, sitting on the couch in the living room, his mum. "Hi Mum," he said confidently. "School was cancelled today, because of... Professional Development Day, yeah. So I'm just gonna go out with Aileen for a while okay? Maybe get some food or something." His mother smiled brightly at Brian and said, "Sure honey. Be home by at least seven okay? Drive safe sweetie!" She gestured for the boy to come near and she gave him a kiss on the cheek. He nodded slightly and headed out the door. He hopped into his car and started the engine, but wouldn't start to drive without Aileen's answer. To calm his nerves, he turned his music loud and waited for her text.
[ scarf of the day | tumblr ][ occ: i got permission for godmodding aileen! ] "I-I-I'm...alright...It's a-all just s-so...unexpected, you know?" Brian heard his friend reply. He let out another sigh of relief at just the sound of her wavering voice. He took her by the hand, stood her up, and embraced her. The boy then said, "C'mon Aileen, I'll drive you home." Brian gave her a half-hearted smile as he lead her out of the auditorium. He guided her to his locker to grab his backpack, and then prompted to leave the building. Still gripping tightly onto Aileen's hand, Brian led her to his car. Turning around after gesturing Aileen into the car, Brian gave the school a deathly gaze. He would never look at its pale walls the same way again. Wishing to leave the horrible school, and memory behind, the boy quickly drove off. He was incredibly flustered, but at least Aileen was okay and sitting right beside him. Her kind aura always managed to calm Brian down, even though she was as traumatized as he was. Soon enough, the duo reached Aileen's house. As she got out of the car, Brian said to her, "Stay safe okay...? We'll text all day in case... something happens..." His voice drifted into misery. He slightly shook his head and waved his best friend goodbye, driving towards his home. Brian slammed the car door with much force as he stormed into the abode. Good thing his parents were away, or else they'd force him to return to school. The boy sprinted upstairs and jumped onto his bed, immersing himself with the lavender covers. His whole body shook in fear as he curled into a ball and clutched his phone close to his chest. "Please stay safe Aileen..." The boy murmured to himself as another chill shook his body.
[ scarf of the day | tumblr ][ occ: n/a ] Brian sat in the chair, completely motionless as he saw Anthony jolt to the stage. H--she spoke in a menacing tone; a tone of pure hate and distaste. Her--Crestasia's-- words cut through the boy's psyche like an overly-sharpened knife, leaving his mouth agape. Then, he heard his fellow Bellhurst students cowardly mutter questions. Once he thought of a valuable question, Brian opened his mouth to speak but was interrupting by Crestatia's booming voice. Her answers were worthless, but then again... so were the others' questions. Before he knew it, Anthony collapsed to the floor and everything began to return to normal. But still he was petrified, frozen in the pure essence of fear. He saw Altair, and who he assumed was Anthony's sister... (Elizabeth, was it?), hurriedly rush to the stage. The boy wanted to help, but having too many people would do nothing but cause chaos and disorder. He sighed in relief as the duo rushed away with Anthony. Still shaken, he looked to his left to see a stunned Aileen. He weakly asked her, "A-are you... okay, Aileen?"
[ scarf of the day | tumblr ][ occ: n/a ] The lights soon dimmed around the auditorium as the light on the stage illuminated. Out walked Principal Havens with a solemn expression on his face. "Good morning, Bellhurst. Some of you may already be aware of why we're here today, but...First, I would like to apologize for the suddenness of this assembly...I...We...." Brian noticed Principal Havens rub his temples. Uh oh. "I stand here before you with an enormously heavy heart...This school has always astounded me with it's immaculate sense of community and togetherness. We are a family here at Bellhurst...Which is why it pains me so much to inform you all that on Saturday, December 1st, we lost one of our bells." The boy gasped slightly as he continued. "Here today with us are the parents of our student, Mr. and Mrs. Adams. I ask that you give them your utmost respect and attention." Adams... Adams... oh, Adams. The sixteen year old felt a shiver roll down his spine and spread to his body. Adams as in... Thomas Adams? He gulped as a heartbroken couple slumped to the stage. The woman's voice was shaky and uneven, but Brian figured out what she was trying to say. He felt his heart drop as the slideshow started. Tears began to stream down the boy's face as the final realization kicked in. ...The students that were present... the email... poor Thomas... this 'C' person meant business, and that email was no joke. But then that means... they only had ninety-seven days left to live...?
[ scarf of the day | tumblr ][ occ: n/a ] Brian nodded to reassure Cherno. "Yeah, Brian's my name." He chuckled slightly as he continued to speak. "Ah, okay... just wanted to see if someone around here knew!" The boy's chuckle turned into a medium laugh with the realization that nobody had any idea what was going on. Hearing a familiar shifting sound, Brian quickly turned his head to the left to see Aileen sitting down. "Hey Aileen!" Brian said cheerfully. He attempted to give her a hug, but it turned into a semi-awkward glomp with the position the two were in. He continued, "Aileen, this is Cherno." Moving his head back so the two could see each other, the boy gestured to Cherno. Turning to Cherno, he said, "Cherno, Aileen." His smile widened. Brian loved introducing new people and seeing a possible friendship flourish.
[ scarf of the day | tumblr ] [ occ: n/a ] With a perfect posture and legs crossed, Brian waited for the assembly to start. He fluffed out his scarf a little, then felt a shifting noise and a soft breeze envelope his body. He turned his head to the left to see... ah yes, Cherno! The two made awkward eye contact, and the boy abruptly looked onto his lap. Brian knew Cherno from Tumblr, plus he'd seen him around in school. More recently, he also noticed him at Quin's concert. A small smile formed on the boy's face as he remembered how pleasant Quin's performance was. It was truly a masterpiece... it was such a shame he didn't get to congratulate her yet though. With his mood mildly shifting, Brian decided to turn back to Cherno and said, "Hey there... Cherno, right?" He smiled brightly at him. "We've never really spoken before... what a shame, yeah? Anyway, how are you doing? Any idea what this assembly could be about?" Oh god, he asked way too many questions already. Anticipating Cherno's answer, Brian let out a soft sigh.
[ scarf of the day | tumblr ] [ occ: n/a ] A flurry of clothing was thrown around the lavender room in haste as Brian rapidly searched for an acceptable outfit to wear. Because of the concert, the boy went to bed late, which subsequently led to him waking up way later than he intended. He sighed with relief as he spotted a shirt that would go well with the scarf he had in mind. In almost a flash, Brian found the other garments that fit the outfit perfectly. The boy hopped into his car, and began to drive off in a hurry. He didn't live that far from the school, compared to others, but he always liked to be early just in case something were to happen. He put on his iPhone to calm his nerves. Brian sang along with the song, his mood inflating. The song, SNSD's new song Flower Power, always gave him a rush of adrenaline and a dose of cheerfulness. Finally, Brian arrived at the school. Disconnecting his iPhone and grabbing his backpack in the passenger's seat, he ran into the through the school doors. In an attempt to catch his breath, he changed his pace to a sluggish walk. As he passed the auditorium, a thought flashed across his mind. He wondered why he had to go to the auditorium instead of going to first period. Shrugging it off, Brian continued to head towards his locker. After dropping his backpack off, the boy returned to the doors of the auditorium. He entered quietly and was greeted by the smell of roses. It was pleasing, yes, but the scent grew too strong and soon Brian grew tired of it. He took his seat in the first row, curious as per what was the meaning of all of this.

[ scarf of the day | tumblr ][ occ: n/a ] Brian, captivated by Quin and her stunning outfit, unintentionally ignored his best friend and prompted to sit down. His heart pounded heavily as anticipation rose in his chest. He was envious of Quin's wonder with the violin, and the chance to see a master at work made his heart flutter. The performance left the boy breathless. It was simply stunning, a complete masterpiece. Once the performance ended, he immediately stood up and clapped. He was tempted to congratulate her, but he saw a slur of people approach and crowd her, Aileen included. He sighed, and decided it'd be best to wait by the car for her. Slowly, he began to pace towards his car.
[ scarf of the day | tumblr ][ occ: sorry for not posting! ] The engine hummed loudly as Brian started the car. He backed out of the driveway, and drove down Waverly Place to the main street. He always called his street "the tie between two worlds", because his street connected the two main roads that flow through Coy City. Looking carefully ahead of him, the boy turned onto Broad Street. He was heading to Quin's concert at Sealand Park, which was at least a forty-five minute drive. The boy saw the buzz about it on Tumblr, and he heard Aileen was going, so he figured it would be a great social event. Plus, Brian always admired Quin for her gift with the violin and it would be cool to see her in action. He sighed happily as he continued to drive, turning up his iPhone which was plugged into the car's speakers. At long last, Brian arrived at the concert. There were chairs set up in neat rows, with the stage being dead center. He loved being the center of things, where all the attention was drawn. It made him feel... "complete" when he knew someone was thinking of him. Curiously, he looked around to see if Aileen had arrived yet. He pulled out his phone and checked the time. "Only fifteen minutes left until it starts, I hope Aileen gets here soon," he murmured under his breath. Slipping the phone back into his pocket, Brian decided to walk around to meet new people or see old friends. Every day was a new social opportunity, and Brian would just die without his regular dosage of attention...

[ scarf of the day | tumblr ][ occ: to the sushi bar! ] Brian impatiently checked his phone several times, awaiting an anticipated text from Aileen. He sighed with disappointment as he slid the phone back into his pocket. He was a little worried for his best friend; what if something happened? The negative thought left a sour taste in his mouth, so he quickly pushed it out of his mind. Still he looked towards the ground with a heavy heart and continued to walk. The boy looked up as he heard a voice in front of him. He recognized the man in front of him: it was the guy from yesterday who helped him up in the hallway. He smiled at him, his sadness disappearing, and said, "Hey there. Yeah, it's good to see you too!" He paused slightly, shuffled his feet, and continued, "What are you walking around town for?" Another pause. "Oh, hey! Want to go to the sushi bar by here? Me and a friend or two are going. Care to join us?" Brian asked eagerly. It was the least he do, with the whole incident yesterday. He knew he'd walk with a limp for the next few days, as he was currently. "Pardon me for a second. Sorry if this is rude, I just want to double-check this with my best friend," Brian said sweetly as he pulled out his phone. Quickly, he sent Aileen a new message to see what she would say. Probably yes, knowing her, but it never hurts to ask just in case.
[ scarf of the day | tumblr ][ occ: n/a ] The sixteen year old continued to roll around the bed. Soon, he grew bored of rolling and began jumping on the bed. Good thing his room had a high ceiling, or else he would hit his head. He had already gotten injured this week, he didn't need another one. He didn't even realize he still had his loafers on. A few minutes passed before Brian realized he'd gotten a text from Aileen. He read it, and was a little surprised. Taking his phone off the hook, he proceeded to leave his room and walk down the creaky, (carpeted) wooden stairs to the living room. He scanned the room to see if his mom or dad were there, but no one was in sight. He shrugged and figured they must have left for work early today. Closing the door behind him and locking it with his house key, Brian sent a new text to Aileen approving of Yuna joining them. Brian was always careful to have his house key with him; there'd been too many occasions he was locked out of the house and had to wait for his mom or dad to return home. He smiled as he slipped the phone into his right pocket and began walking to the daycare.
