Me and a friend thinks that the samurai dude is just 'out of KH'. We think it is a horrible character. Just because it looks like it is from feudal Japan, not from the universe of KH. Vanitas then again is a marvelous character! : ) If Vanitas is related to some of the characters, my guesses are that he and Ven are brothers. They seem the same age and it would make it more plausible that two brothers are being rivals. Though Sora and Riku as friends were rivals, but it never went to any great lengths, if you think about it. Vanitas seems so dark.

The problem is of course this 3rd person. The 'other friend'. I cannot help with anything else. I'm just pointing out, who is the one to blame. It is not you nor your best friend. It's the 'other friend'! Though the best friend must be easily fooled, if she doesn't need any backup data for the claims of the 'other friend'.
