First off, I'm not going to explain myself on the bomb thing. That should have been common sense.. And two, there are government powers out there selling, creating, and trading nuclear weapons and various chemical weapons every day. That report gives no clarification that there is not a possibility of there being weapons anywhere in possible reach of the middle-east. That was also 3 years ago.
Are you kidding? A 15 year old boy could build a bomb in his basement with household items. If you REALLY think there are no weapons of mass destruction in the middle east, you're seriously an idiot.
When they sign that contract, they know what they are getting into. This is why we have military. These people protect us away from home so we don't have to live in constant horror, living every day like it's going to be our last. Like every building is going to be bombed. Like we're going to be killed at any point during the night, during our work-day, during our activities. When the above actually happens, when our people are killed on our land, our home, it's an absolute tragedy, and it's horrifying. Let me ask you this: Would you rather we bring all of the troops home, and then have 9/11 happen everyday? Ask yourself that. Seriously. Ask yourself if you'd rather watch your family and friends die, would -you- rather die, than have someone who is dedicated, who knows they can defend their country, to give their lives to keep people like you and me, and everyone we know, safe, and have them live every day peacefully instead of living in terror just waiting to die? No. The simple answer is no.
I don't get why you're saying that in this thread like we all don't care about the latter. We do. What makes you think otherwise? What I disagree with in your post is the fact that the men and women that die in this war have signed a contract stating that every day of their lives for however long their term is, they have a significantly heightened chance of injury, loss, and even death. The 3,000 people that died in the 9/11 attacks were not soldiers. They were ordinary people, un-expecting people, working that day just like every other day. To bring home money to support their families and put food on their tables. People that had dinner reservations that night with their families, or were going to bring their kids to a baseball game. People that were planning a vacation or a second honeymoon with their wives, or people that were going to go to church the next day and pray for those people who have the courage and dignity to fight a war overseas and protect our country. The people that died on 9/11 were the people who didn't have that honor, that courage and that dignity. People who had no idea that September 11th would be their last day on this Earth. That is the difference here.
FinalForm, it's honestly not funny at all. Don't even joke. Madi, if it doesn't stop, let me know and I'll make sure it stops.
Anything like this always makes me cry.. I know personally what it feels like to lose a parent.
