    Mikio saw the riddle and listened to Matthew's point of view on it. He looked down and fiddled with his chained necklace, his voice low and quiet. "Um... it could be charcoal..." He cleared his throat, keeping his head down as he spoke. He wasn't very confident with himself, but it seemed logical to him. "It's black when you buy it, you light it on fire it turns red... and when you clean out the fireplace, all that's left is grey dust."

    I can try to be a beta reader. Fair warning though, I can be a harsh critic when it comes to reading others stories.

    Okay, so a couple of things I have to say on this;

    Threads are great, threads are wonderful. But people seem to be more attracted to active social groups than someone posting in a thread.

    And it seemed like when I was in that writing group, I was left out constantly cause how fast the chat went. I was too busy to keep up sometimes. And sometimes it was dead. So people are going to be left out anyways unless people get tagged to check stuff out or update them.

    Lemme make this clear; THIS DISCORD GROUP I'M SUGGESTING IS NOT GOING TO REPLACE ANYTHING IN THE WRITER'S NOOK. NOT THE THREAD YOU CREATED, NOT THE CASUAL/RECREATIONAL AREA. IT'S GOING TO REFER MORE PEOPLE TO IT TO ACTUALLY POST IN IT AND HAVE A LOOK.

    If people need MORE help to their story then just a quick suggestion, then a thread would be recommended to have posted for everyone to analyze and post their input. However, most writers just want a quick suggestion and sometimes making a thread for those is kind of clutter some and people don't usually look at them

    This Discord server suggestion was made with the idea in mind to bring fellow creative writer's together to goof, hang out, link other writers to their stories, be free to get to know so they can get comfortable to critique one another, give suggestions WITHOUT spamming on KHVs, meet each other, and talk more freely.

    I mean, when I came back to KHVs, I didn't know who to talk to. The activity was kind of dead anyways EVERYWHERE. Someone referred me to discord, and I made so many friends and rekindled a lot of old friends.

    From an RPA standpoint, we're getting a lot more out of our Welcome to Death RP with quality posts and character development by just hanging out, talking, and having fun with the occasional serious discussion of our RP on the discord chat than we would posting in the OOC section. And we still post on KHVs

    It's just nice to have a casual place to hang out just for creative writers on KHVs, or anyone who even has a little bit of interest in writing.

    And if one mod is busy trying to get something off the ground, choose someone else who wants to write and have time to be in the same group.

    Ah. But what about a discord group as well on the KHVs server since most of the active members hang out there anyways? I mean, we can post there to get it active, but Discord seems to invite and unite more activity out of people.

    Thanks Plums! Lemme know what I can do as a member to help out more.

    Hey!

    After participating in NAON... or something like that (That writing group where you have to write a certain amount of words a day, with a goal, and get a novel done by November), I thought of this idea and I wanna run by KHVs.

    I was wondering if we could make a Discord/KHVs group of writers who just like to write about anything. It'll be casual, no deadlines, no goals to meet (unless the writers want to make one for themselves), and no real person to run the thing. We need a mod to moderate rules/guidelines, yes, but not someone to tell us to write on a daily basis or that we have to keep up with goals and whatnot. It's just a casual writing group.

    This is to work with those who have a busy schedule to more of a lay back schedule. Anyone could be writing about anything (fanfiction, original story, essays, etc) and ask for help/pointers, or a review. We can also help each other around writer blocks, give helpful advice to find motivation to write, writer prompts, have voice chats to get to know each other and help one another, read our work outloud, etc.

    I am aware that a thread has been made for those who wanna keep writing after Nanao (whatever that was)... But people on KHVs seems more active on Discord. Maybe this will open up doors to help people not be so shy and actually post some of their casual work on the forum to get the writing corner more active.

    Zoey sighed out in relief when the mummies had vanished. She ventured back to the where they were last, holding Dana in her hands. "Okay, you're turn to pick," she said.

    Mikio followed after everyone else, silently thanking Matthew and Chaol over and over again for getting rid of the cat-lady... thing. He knew it was too good to be true to be able to talk to a talking cat and being asked for belly rubs. He followed close behind Matthew, avoiding the odd cat-lady and checking out the inscription on the door.

    The light still blinded her. Breathes of air escaped her lips in a steady, rhythmic pace. Xara blinked against the light, her hand raised to block what she could from assaulting her eyes. The roar of a what seemed like a river sounded distant and echoed into the strange stillness of it all. She clenched her hand as a feeling of dread washed over her. The light began to fade, starting from around her feet. She was on a marble staircase and her reflection shined back from below. The light receded and the sound became more predominate.

    Suddenly, everything was clear.

    She was on the front stairs that led up to one of the Astronomy towers back in her home world, Tanamzu.

    The tween inhaled sharply as the energy of the crowd hit her on with full force. There was anger, confusion, fear, and fingers jabbed in her direction.

    There she is!

    She’s the one that brought this mess on us!” a woman screamed.

    Grab her and take her to the Council!” a man shouted.

    Xara flinched. She held up her hands, backing up on the steps. “No, you don’t understand! I was chosen! Listen to me!

    Ha, chosen?!” an old woman snapped, stepping out of the crowd and stood on the steps before the crowd. “Chosen to bring death and darkness among us, you insolent fool! You are a demon sent from the outside! You were the one the Council warned us about!” she spat.

    Those words stung the young girl’s heart. She felt her courage diminishing by the second and her heart pounding in her ears. Her neck burned with the fire of shame, and her hands sweat from the stress and accusations that have been thrown at her. “Please, don’t you see!” she pleaded and grabbed at her heart. “The stars are going to disappear because of this darkness! It’s coming to us! I… I don’t know my purpose yet,” she cried out, looking for anyone to understand. Tears swelled in her eyes and threatened to fall at any moment, yet she kept firm. “But I know it’s important! I can help out so much more! I could save us-

    The old woman banged her cane on the steps and pointed at her. LIAR! You brought us to our doom, demon child!

    Xara’s eyes widened as the crowd cheered and rallied around the old woman.

    “Enough talk, seize her!

    The colorful gold and black banners with pictures of many different gears, tied on spears of the royal guards appeared in the crowd. They began to race toward Xara on the steps, who had walked back. She could turn herself in. But what if the Council showed this much hate to her as the crowd did? They wouldn’t listen to her.

    No, she needed to survive. She needed to get away, fast.

    The fourteen-year-old girl suddenly bolted from the spot, running towards the tall buildings and confusing streets of her own world.

    Mikio had frozen in place when he heard the familiar voice next to his ear. One glance, and his face went from the normal pale color to completely white as blinding snow. His mouth gapped open in horror, sweat beads began to form on his forehead, and his knees began to shake and quiver as his arms went up and froze in defense.

    I KNEW THERE WAS SOMETHING OFF ABOUT ALL OF THIS!
    He began to skirt away from the provocative cat lady, stiff step by stiff step, still keeping his arms up and his mouth open. Get away, get away from me!!! No stranger, not even his closest friends had gotten so close in his personal space before unnannouced. He nearly gagged at the thought as he scooted away centimeter by centimeter, not even hearing a word his teammate was telling the cat lady.

    ~~~
    Zoey giggled. "I am not your master, silly." She moved around the mummies, swinging Dana in rhythm to an unknown beat to the mummies fighting moves. "I am your meister." She smirked as she stabbed a mummy through the head and kicked another one behind her while yanking Dana away from the creature. "We can be weird together, you and me."
    "Nice... to meet you too," she said, smiling a little. The attention was turned to more and more folks appearing out of no where and the girl fell silent again.
    Xara's keyblade was long gone as more and more people showed up. Her eyes took in as much as she could, seeing so many new faces. All of these people were called to the SoS?
    She went with the group, seeing the Dreamer... Hearing some familiar phrases, but everything else seemed rather confusing and foreign to her. Face demons?
    The young girl took in a deep breath, glancing at the strangers that seemed to be for the same cause. However much time had past since her first world, everyone looked so worn and ragged. It made her wonder what all had happened to them, and how in the world they lost their keyblade. She heard the Dreamer guy mention that they would regain their keyblade again, and Xara wondered what would happen since she already had her keyblade...
    Nonetheless, it seemed like they didn't have much time to question things. And with what the Dreamer said, it sounded like everyone had to do this if they were committed to help save the worlds from Darkness.
    Xara took a deep breath and marched into the castle after the few others that had already gone, glancing at the Dreamer before she headed in.
    Things will get clearer with time, she assured herself in her mind. This was better than wandering in the darkness for who knew how long.
    She gasped as she saw the hallways with the many doors and numbers all on them. "Whoa..." She walked down the rows and rows of doors, not finding anything fancy for a while until she came to door XX. Under that, her name.
    "... Kinda creepy," she muttered as she scratched her head. She then adjusted her goggles on her head and stood up straight. "Well... Now's the chance to prove you can be one of the team, even if you were outta the loop the whole time," she said under her breath. Without hesitating any longer, she opened the door and was greeted by a blinding light...
    Zoey got into a defensive position and outstretched her hand. "Ready when you are, Dana!" She called. Ah, it was the wrong choice again, but at least they would be getting more experience out of this.
    ~~
    Mikio's eyes widened when the talking cat came over to him, and rubbed against his leg. A faint, pinkish glow dusted his cheeks and he felt his ears go hot from being flustered. Cat with a human voice... so not natural. But... he didn't want to be rude. And it was a cat after all...
    "Uh, s-sure," Mikio mumbled, swallowing a lump in his throat. He didn't even bother to look up at the others as he crouched down from his towering height to sit comfortably in a squatting position. A shaky hand reached out to the odd cat, and he gave her two gentle pats on the belly before running his fingers over the fur hesitantly. "N-nice kitty," he said under his breath. Despite his nervousness, he actually felt a little more relax than he was on the whole trip over to Texas. A little smile even tugged at his lips as he stroked and petted the seemingly magical cat.
    Mikio was his quiet, usual self, if not a little more so because of the huge crowds of people. He had his cat hoodie pulled over his head to cover his eyes, and a pair of noise canceling headphones that now rested on his neck. He just waited for a cue of some kind at this point, not really knowing what to do with himself. He kept his head down, staying near Matthew and kept his hands in his sweater pocket.
    He heard a voice, and the team responded in reply. Talking cat? He looked up just a bit, and there she was; a strange, purple looking cat that spoke human language. His jaw tightened and he put his head back down. 'That's not normal,' he thought. 'I don't know whether to be shy or try to pet it! Agh! So confusing and conflicting!!!'
    The girl sighed out in relief when they rounded the corner and did not run into any more monsters. Well, it gave her a chance to have a bit of a breather. She wondered how in the world they would get out of here though. They should have made a string to run down the hallway or something, but what if someone had cut it?
    Zoey stopped at the fork and crouched to the ground, feeling around. She found a stray stone and her fingers caressed it to feel the texture of it. "
    I'm going to start marking the walls," she announced to Dana. "Just in case we get lost on our way back." She went over to a wall, and dragged the rock as hard as she could on the surface to make a squiggle. She then turned to Dana. "Did it make something?" she asked, smiling sheepishly. "I can't tell."
    With her free hand, Zoey snapped her fingers, listening to the nose vibrate off the surface. A fuzzy image came into her mind of the choices they had to go to next. She sighed a bit. "
    Man, this pharaoh doesn't wanna be found. How about left, Dana? Should we try that?"
    Xara stood to attention when someone new showed up. She watched their body language and saw they were familiar with one another. Wasteland? What was that?
    She snapped back to it when one of the unfamiliar faces introduced themselves. "Oh, uh, I don't think we met yet. M-my name is Xara. I got that letter that called people who wield the keyblade to come help. See?" She held up her kingdom key for the new faces to see and then lowered her arm. "I went to The Land of Departure, this old guy sent me to this world where I turned into a raccoon and then somehow I ended up in here when this archery tournament was going to start... and then I found Ananta, and here we are. I've kind of just been following her around to make sure those weird creatures didn't attack her."
    Xara tilted her head and scratched her hair with one finger. "Something tells me I've been here a while..." She looked to the light, feeling a bit antsy to get there. "I hadn't seen anything like that before. Or anyone else really. Ananta kinda told me that the SOS is scattered, and you were the leader I think?" She glanced at Ananta for confirmation to make sure it was Hikaru indeed.
    Xara ran after Ananta, and then stood back to see the happy reunion. She held the keyblade at her side, seeing that this person wasn't a threat. Apparently his name was Glen. Not wanting to interrupt them, she adjusted the goggles on her head and looked over at the beacon. 'Good, they're still thinking about heading there,' she thought to herself. She took a moment to canvas the area, making sure no weird creatures were coming out of the woodworks to attack them while they were talking. Ananta could do magic though, which was a relief. At least they weren't solely relying on a tween to save their backs if something happened.
    Xara looked over and squinted in the darkness. She could barely make an outline of what appeared to be a person... "Be careful," the young tween said quietly. "The darkness has a way of distorting what you want to see."
    She gripped her keyblade tightly, then took a breath through her nose. Though she was younger than this person, this was the first contact she had with anyone in a while. "Okay. Tell you what. If it's not your friends, I'll beat them to a pulp, and then we'll be on our way. But if they are your friends, let me tag along and let's all get to that light already. Deal?" She looked back at Ananta with a raised eyebrow, but a serious look about her. There was so much confusion in the young girl's mind, but she was desperate to get out of here. She was going nuts seeing nothing but swirling clouds and sand. If that light was a way out, she was going to get a little upset if they missed it.
    Before the purple haired girl knew it, Ananta already bounded off. "W-wait!" Xara called out, reaching a hand out to the girl. She sighed under her breath, shaking her head as she summoned her keyblade and ran after the girl. She didn't know what she'd run into running like that through the unknown, and she wondered if Ananta had the same keyblade to protect herself with. Then again, she thought she remembered her saying she couldn't summon it.
    Xara could barely make out her outline in the darkness, but sprinted enough to catch up just as Ananta collapsed to the ground. Xara slowed her pace, panting and then finally stopped in place. She placed her hands on her knees, keeping the keyblade there just in case something decided to sneak up on them. "B-boy... you sure run..." she gasped for air and then continued to talk, "fast... gees."
    She looked up at the pillar, seeing that they were mostly there. "So you can't summon one of these things?" Xara asked as she straightened, then held up her keyblade. "If that's the case, stick close by me." Xara looked at Ananta and smiled a bit. "There's a lot of creepy things here..." she then looked to the light and breathed in deeply through her nose. "I dunno how long I've been here... but I don't remember you... or much of anyone. Maybe it's because of this place and it does things to your mind... but I hadn't found a way out at all... and this light," she gestured to it with her hand. "I dunno if it's a trap... or really a way out."
    She glanced back at Ananta and extended a hand out to her. "But this is better than walking around trying to figure out what you did to end up here." She smiled and tilted her head to the side. "Ready to go?"
