"I don't know any Master Hikaru," Xara muttered. She scratched her head and paced a bit in place. She had a feeling she was missing something important until the light was mentioned. "Light?" Xara looked up to see just that. "Oh..." it was a beautiful sight to see instead of just sand and swirling darkness. She also felt a little uneasy. It couldn't be that easy to get out of here, could it? Why hadn't a light showed up until now?
OOC: sorry, I'll try to format later. "Because that will be too easy," Zoey said with a slight smile. "Wish I could be more help with this soul sight of mine, but I haven't been able to make maps in my head yet." She paused when they were faced with three options and tilted her head to listen to Dana's voice echoing off the walls. "Hearing isn't gonna help either. We're just gonna have to go through this blindly." Zoey chuckled at her own joke and then moved to the right hallway. "I don't know if I'm going to laugh or cry if we get this wrong." She rolled her sore shoulder and rubbed at it as they walked. She wasn't going to make the same mistake last time if they were wrong on this one. ~~~ Mikio let the three talk, although it was mostly Hannah and Matthew. He put his hands in his pockets, nodding to what Matthew said. At least they got to train a little bit together, but Mikio still wasn't completely comfortable around everyone all at once yet. That was going to take some getting used to.
Wow, this is so cool. I wanna join in too! My story is called Enter Into Tepiniz; Paradise, Or Is It?, and I've been working on it since I was 16 years old. I got up to like chapter 11, and then stopped because life got in the way. But it keeps coming back to my mind, so I want to finish it really badly. Theme: Dark Fiction Age Range: Adolescence to Young Adults I think Setting: Fictional Town of East Texas, another world called Tepiniz Point of View/Writing Style: Third person point of view from Kristine (my main character) Synopsis: Spoiler: Sorry it's long It's about a girl named Kristine who moved into a small fictional town in East Texas. The town is really weird and creepy, like children and teenagers are not welcomed there and treated indifferently. She's instantly an outcast, but finds friendship in two friends, Sam and Reyna. The small group of friends are bullied, and eventually shoved and locked into this old abandoned house that is a town urban legend. Those who go in the house are usually not found ever again, dark stuff happened behind closed doors in the past, and people had kept it as a dark reminder of what happens when a stranger from the outside is welcomed into their midst. The teens are locked in the cellar of the place, and in the cellar there's a cedar chest with odd carvings on it. They open it up to find a stairway leading downwards. Not seeing any other way out, the teens hop on in and go down the stairs. Suddenly they're enveloped by light, and then bam. They end up in a different dimension where the humans turn into old fashion toys from the late 1800's to early 1900's. The place is called Tepiniz, and it was originally designed as a sanctuary for lost or forgotten toys, almost like a heaven. And then this evil marionette appeared in the world, angry at mankind and experienced in dark magic, so he put a curse on Tepiniz and opened a gateway for children under the age of 18 to be enticed, come in, they turn into toys based on their personality and that time era, he makes them happy and comfortable as possible. Then, when they forget where they came from because of the dark magic, or don't want to go back to the real world, and if he has their name, he takes their souls and eats them up, and they're never seen or heard from again. Then someone else (who I haven't developed fully yet as a character) countered the curse the best she could, opening a way out from Tepiniz. She also placed a magic mirror at The Way In for the mirror to give them a toy name so they could protect themselves against the curse, and held on to the keys to the Way In and the Way Out, waiting for someone to carry them and close the gates once and for all to free all the children who had been lost previously. SOOOO, back to this small group, Reyna turns into a rag doll with a noose around her neck, Kristine turns into a porcelain doll, and Sam turns into a stuffed dog. Tepiniz's dark magic also has a way to make fears from the Real World more of a reality in this world so they will become too afraid to go back. Kristine struggles with grief and PTSD, Reyna deals with abuse, and Sam deals with self-harm. The story mostly focuses on Kristine though and how she works through her pain while helping her friends work through their pain. I'm planning to divide this book up into a triology. First book focuses on them trying to get out, second book focuses on the keys and "losing" to the bad guys, third book is when the good guys fight back and end things once and for all. My Goals/What I want out of this: .... Pretty much trying to find motivation to finish and to keep my thoughts organized. Cause this is one complicated story I took on. I made a map to Tepiniz too and even went back to develop each setting at a time. The Way Out is hidden away in mountains on the other side of the world, so they meet people who are wanting to help the children find a way out, break the curse, and stay out of the evil marionette's clutches. But with my schedule and my depression, kind of been fighting myself to not abandon this. I even went back and started to rewrite it cause my writing style changed. If it hasn't left my head, I guess I need to finish it
Zoey marched down the hallway with Dana in hand, and didn't even stop when she got to the more familiar part. "Left, let's just go left and try that out," she said. Her shoulder had been forgotten, and she was task oriented. They were going to get this mission done one way or another, even if she was going to keep making mistakes over and over again with Dana. That was the whole point of these things; not die, get the job done, and get to know each other in the mean time and figure out how to work with each other. Then again, they weren't doing so bad as a pair.
Xara was startled by the sudden yelling and stepped back with her hands in the air. Her keyblade vanished from her hand and her eyes were wide. "Whoa, whoa! Take it easy! I'm not gonna hurt you." Xara stayed her distance just in case she had in. "M-My name is Xara," the purple haired girl stammered as she placed a hand over her own chest. "I got that letter, you know, the one that was calling everyone who could weild this um..." She scratched her head. "Keyblade? Yeah, that! And it was asking those who are willing and ready to fight for their worlds to meet them at this 'Place of Departure'? I think?" She sighed, shaking her head as she placed her hands on her hips. "I dunno... My memory is a little fuzzy. Last thing I recall I was in this world where I turned into a raccoon... Or a rabbit. Some kind of animals. There was this archery tournament, and we had to help this Robin win it, and then bam..." Her eyes looked around the dark swirls around them. "I ended up here somehow. I dunno how long though. And you're the first person I've ever seen since I got here. How much time has past?" She asked, raising her eyebrow. "Are you with this SOS group that the letter was talking about?"
Zoey chuckled, moving Dana behind her to get ready to leap as she took a minute to analyze the souls. "Chocolate covered souls, eh? I wish they acted sweeter." The meister waited til the last minute to jump in the air, using one hand to press down on a mummy head as she flipped over the group, making them crash into each other like bowling pins. She then landed, and began to dance in a rhythmic movement of defense and offense footwork, twisting and turning to an unheard song. With each movement, Dana attempted to follow the rhythm herself and did a pretty good job of it. She couldn't help but be kind of thankful that she'd been paired with Zoey; Dana had a colossal ego, but there was no denying her meister was equally as skilled if not moreso. As Zoey was moving so smoothy with Dana, Zoey felt something brush and tickle agianst her face. What ever it was, it became stuck to her and her blindfold and she flailed, raising her hand up to try to get it off of her. "UGH! Spider web!" Zoey guessed outloud. She stumbled and had barely enough time to look up. A clawed hand came down, and Zoey dodged rolled out of the way, only to be swiped at on the way down. Zoey felt searing pain through her right shoulder and grunted in agony, clutching onto the area where the monster struck. Seeing her meister injured, Dana quickly moved herself into position to block the next strike coming for her. The impact hit her, but she held strong, a little surprised by how different it felt being hit as a weapon as opposed to being hit as a human. It was solid enough to feel, for sure, but she hadn't felt much pain whatsoever. "Come on Zoey we've got this, we can't let a little spider web stop me from becoming a death scythe. Besides, i'm hungry and wanna taste them souls" she encouraged. Her stomach would have surely been growling at that point were it not for the fact she didn't have a stomach right at that moment. Zoey blinked when she saw the weapon floating and moving on its own in her werid vision. She stood up, ignoring the pain and grabbed Dana back, blocking another hit and then shoving the mummy away. How stupid was she to let one little thing slip and allowed it to ruin her rhythm.
Mikio listened carefully to the conversation, letting each party say their piece. It seemed like Hannah was concerned about practicing long-rang, and for her partner to hit moving targets. He looked up when his name was mentioned and waved a bit. "I-I have a suggestion," he stated, finally breaking out of his silence. "I-If you're comfortable with it, you guys can use arrows with those suction cup things at the end instead of the pointy things. A-and I'm sure they have some here that has the same balance of regular arrows. Or even ones with paint at the end of them? That way, M-Matthew can practice footwork and defense, while um..." he ducked his head and looked at the ground. "Th-this gentleman can practice hitting a moving target? Win-win..." He moved a bit more behind Matthew, feeling all embarrassed for making a suggestion like that. It was probably a very dumb idea cause it sounded like the miester didn't even practice enough to handle a bow properly in the first place.
"Straight it is then," Zoey said with a smile. She pressed forward, feeling a strange, ominous energy as she walked on in too the cooler interior of the pyramid. She blinked her eyes a few times under the blindfold as her senses became more adapted the darker it was becoming. "I see it, but it's small," Zoey said quietly. She didn't want to draw attention to themselves while walking through this place. "All I know it's down. I can't see how to get there." She shrugged and then fell silent, letting her ears do the seeing for her. Everything echoed off the walls, it was damp, and getting colder as they walked in. She put her hand on the wall, seeing the silver lines surrounding the area around her hand. Mikio suddenly became more shy and subconsciously hid behind his meiester when two others addressed them. Normally he wouldn't humiliate himself with such a young teenager, but Matthew was mature for his age, and seemed to know when to take charge. He heard voices talked back and forth and looked up to see a girl standing there with her... meister. Nice, she was a weapon too like him. He heard her almost chastising her meister to take things slow and train. He perked up a bit, looking at Matthew, then at the pair. "M-maybe we can train with you two? We're not s-sure what we're both capable of yet, just we can match soul wavelengths for the m-most part." He blushed as he talked, feeling his confidence waver with every word that came out of his mouth. Damn, why did he have to be so pathetic, he thought. He pulled his sweater sleeves over his hands and tried not to fiddle with his fingers to distract himself from the uncomfortable situation.
