    Updated Testimony

OOC: Okay, for handy reference, here is the updated version of Naminé's testimony. Statements in blue are either modified or additions.
    • The most earliest memories I have are from Castle Oblivion.
    • At first I lured Sora there because I was lonely.
[*]At the time, I felt more like a tool than an actual person.
    • But then certain members used me for their own selfish desires.
[*]Specifically Marluxia, Larxene, Vexen, Axel, DiZ...and as much as I regret saying this, Riku.
[*]However, I actually offered to help Riku instead of him forcing me to, so it might not be considered selfish.
    • I was forced to manipulate Sora's memories and lure him further into the castle.
[*]This was so Marluxia and Larxene could overtake the Organization.
[*]Marluxia threatened to imprison me forever if I didn't obey.
[*]I changed Sora's thalassa lucky charm which represented his promise to Kairi into a false promise to me.
    • I was also forced to implant false memories into Repliku.
[*]Larxene was the one who suggested I do it.
[*]I was able to escape from imprisonment with Axel's help.
[*]Afterwards, Larxene knocked me away when I tried to protect a weakened Sora from his fight with Repliku.
[*]I was unarmed when she hit me.
[*]After that, Marluxia used me as a shield and an incentive for Sora to attack Axel.
[*]Eventually, Marluxia threatened me to erase all of Sora's memories.
[*]I made an attempt to stand up to him and refused.
[*]Marluxia said that I'd "pay the price" for disobeying him.
Do with it what you will.

So are you still planning on doing an episode like you originally planned or are you going for a trailer to test out how well it'll look?

Actually, the first four paragraphs are EXACTLY word for word from the CoM guide. I just forgot to put it in quote tags. :p

"Thank you. One last thing, Naminé. What is the charm that you had altered and that Larxene had stolen from Sora? What is its significance to Sora?"

Naminé raised an eyebrow thoughtfully. Considering she had already answered the question before.

Naminé shrugged. That was exactly what she said and there was no reason to change the statement. She glanced intently at Pika_Power and wondered if he had anything to add. If not, then the real fight would begin...

To do well in this fight, use zero cards to break Marluxia's big attacks and use level 9 cards to pound on him as often and as long as possible. Heal at the end of every card round, even if Sora isn't hurting that much. Sleights are fine, but they don't inflict as much damage as regular cards. Besides, Marluxia has his own reserve of zero cards and isn't afraid to use them.

In addition, Marluxia has acccess to two big sleights: Deathscythe and Blossom Shower, both of which are boosted by his Double Sleight ability.

The first, Deathscythe, summons a giant scythe to slice Sora. It's big and scary, but doesn't inflict a lot of damage. However, the sight of it is enough to make you select the nearest zero card to card break the attack.

His second big attack, Blossom Shower, rains a swirl of sharp petals down on the battlefield. Again, the intro to this attack is impressive enough to make you start searching for a zero card to interrupt its progress.

In other words, use the basic card breaks, be wary of his own zero cards and double sleights, and don't rely on Trinity Limit to inflict damage.

Agreed. In the anime, they're in 7th grade. Throughout the series, they never become Class 3-A. So they're pretty much doomed to be Class 2-A until the animators finally allow them to move on.

So, how's progress so far VGN?

"I don't see any other way to take that statement, do you Mr. Power?" Naminé asked hypothetically.

OOC: Repliku, dude. You're doing such a good job of playing Riku that even I'M getting frustrated with him. And the sad part is Naminé can't do anything about it right now due to her still being on the witness stand. It just gives Riku more time to seethe and by the time she DOES get a chance, I'm going to assume Riku's not going to want anything to do with her. Man, now I'm really regretting bringing up that statement in the first place. Goes to show you that trying to cover a possible counter doesn't help if there's no basis to begin with. Must've been drunk when I wrote that. :p

    BIC:

"There was another time you also stood up to Marluxia, wasn't there, Naminé? After the battle where he used you as a shield and set Sora and Axel to combat...you were in another area with Marluxia and what did he tell you to do that you refused to, and what did you do? Also, explain the scene here in detail leading up to Marluxia and Sora's battle."

Naminé thought for a moment. She contemplated how to put this into words...

OOC: Sorry, it's been a long night, and I really don't have the energy to think up of a summary. I know it's lazy, but it's still evidence.

    BIC:

"...and that's everything that was said, word for word," Naminé finished.

    Ace Attorney and/or Turnabout Prosecutor?

With all these "L this" and "Light that", I am completely and utterly confused with the whole thing. And I'd rather not at the moment. I've never read the manga or watched the anime and I don't intend to.

For me, I'd rather go with the "spiky-haired prick" and "Herr Forehead." I've played through all of their games. I know most of their storylines back to front. I go through Court Records.net for all media and information pertaining to stuff I might've missed.

    Miles Edgeworth FTW. :xp:

Kairi gave Riku a pitying look. But she knew better than to try talking him out of something when his mind was made up. She shook her head sadly and took her seat next to Sora again, grabbing his hand tightly because it made her feel better. She didn't want to think about it, but something told her that Riku was starting to believe that Kairi herself was pitying the Organization. True, she had heard testimony from her other half, but there was always two sides to every story.

Naminé realized that Kairi was starting to have doubts about how the Organization really was. But as she was on the stand, she couldn't do anything about it. The thought of erasing everyone's memories of her comment came to mind, but she knew it was impossible. Even if she did have her powers, Sora's memory was the only one she could affect. There was a lingering doubt within her mind. Had she said enough? Or did she just make matters worse?

'Why didn't that creepy voice come to me BEFORE I took the stand?! Then it'd be Sora who'd be testifying and not me!' Naminé almost felt like crying from frustration. She just wanted this trial to be done and over with before she jeopardized anyone else's lives.

Kairi felt guilt, doubt and sorrow well up within her for some reason. But she knew the emotions were coming from Naminé. She hoped that somehow they would all patch things up with Riku and finish off the Organization once and for all.

Then another thought struck her. A very odd one. How'd this all happen in the first place? The courtroom setting, the Organization back in black, a Pokémon and some creepy winged guy as prosecutors...

Kairi shook her head. Whoever was responsible for this must've wanted to make them all suffer. The question is why...

"Naminé, were you armed when Larxene hit you for standing in the way of harming Sora?"

Naminé was thinking of saying "Unless you count a flimsy white dress, sandals and no underwear armed..."

What she really said was, "No. I left my drawing pad and colored pencils back upstairs. I had no weapons on me that I could use against Larxene."

Kairi's eyes lit up. She understood why Naminé had said what she did. "Riku, I think I get it now! Naminé said you were using her for your own selfish desires, right? Well, think about it. If you were the defense or an Organization member, wouldn't you be thinking along the lines of the exact same thing?" When Riku didn't answer, Kairi got up and stood right in front of him. "Put yourself in their shoes. A girl that you've been using from the very beginning betrays you and starts working for the other side. The opposition's reason in doing this is to reawaken the one person who has the power to destroy your very existence. With Naminé helping you do that, they would probably find it as a "selfish desire" that your purpose of helping her was to help destroy the Organization. She wanted to get that point of view out there and hope that the prosecution would somehow use that information to protect you if the defense tried to bring it up." Kairi raised an eyebrow. "Does that makes sense?"

'If Riku doesn't understand, he's just as stubborn as Sora,' she thought, trying to resist the urge not to smack him across the back of the head.

"Now, you also mentioned Marluxia, which can you describe the scene you were in that put you in the way of Sora and Marluxia in the first place? Why were you there?"

"I was waiting beside Repliku when Marluxia appeared and grabbed me," Naminé said. "The next thing I knew, I was looking straight at Axel. Both he and Marluxia had their weapons drawn, so I'm assuming that they were in the middle of a fight. I'm also going to assume Axel was winning, because Marluxia was standing behind me, using me as a shield. Axel was going to attack him anyway, but Marluxia told Sora (who had just entered the room) that Axel was going to kill me to get to him and that he should destroy Axel. After that, he grabbed my shoulder and he transported us to the end of the hall." There was more to the story, but she had finished answering the question thoroughly. The defense probably would've objected if she tried to continue.

Via telepathic link, Naminé heard everything that Kairi was trying to tell Riku. Of course, everything that Kairi had said was the truth. Naminé was counting on the prosecution to protect Riku if that biased point of view of his actions were to come into play. She could only hope that Riku would listen to Kairi. 'Or else I might have to smack him on the back of the head as well...' she thought grimly. 'Or at least throw a pencil at him.'

OOC: Sorry Repliku, I figured that the defense might try bringing that up when it was their turn and was kinda hoping you would counter it somehow.

    BIC:

Naminé looked at Riku and felt ashamed. She didn't mean to accuse Riku outright, but she was hoping the prosecution would've been able to use what she said to safeguard the possibility of the defense trying to use that tact. Of course, since she was still on the bench, she couldn't apologize for what she said. Naminé didn't know what else to do but to continue with the cross-examination.

Harvey Birdman frowned. This girl was making things kind of more difficult. "Naminé, did you ever do anything to stand up against the orders of Marluxia and/or Larxene during this time? Also, how is it you were freed from your imprisonment?

When he asked these questions, Naminé felt slightly better in the fact that she COULD answer them. "As a matter of fact, I DID. Twice. I tried to stop Larxene from attacking Sora which resulted me flying across the room. And I also stood up to Marluxia when he threatened me to destroy Sora's heart. Both of those times I was in a position where they threatened me with violence or anguish."

"As for how I escaped..." Naminé looked at Axel. "I have Axel to thank for that. Both Marluxia and Larxene were out of the room and he turned a blind eye to go and help Sora." She raised an eyebrow quizzically. "Or did you mean afterwards where Riku and DiZ transferred Sora, Donald and Goofy's pods to Twilight Town? Because if that's the case, then I guess I have them to thank for that as well. For giving me a safe haven from the Organization while I restored Sora's memories."

She glanced at Riku again, hoping that he would accept that as an apology.

Kairi also glanced at Riku. When he didn't answer, she elbowed him in the ribs and gave him a hard look. "She's trying to apologize to you, Riku. And you know that she didn't mean what she said in the way you're taking it." She looked over at Naminé. "She's probably trying to protect you and Sora somehow by using her testimony. I'm not sure how, but it seems that way." Kairi shook her head. "Do you really believe that she has such a low opinion of you?"
