At the rate this is going, I'm thinking it's going to be as long as Mister Rogers Neighborhood. Seriously, how long was that show? Thirty years or something? Or maybe something like (god-forbid) Sesame Street where it'll go on until Big Bird's voice actor finally dies. Of course that didn't stop them from getting new voice actors in the first place for Pokemon...:dead: And I agree with Misty. It should end with a romance scene. Of course, the heroine's ALWAYS going to tell Ash that when he's older he'll understand what romance is despite hanging around a girl and a love addict every season.
OOC: Fair and to the point, Udgey-boy. :p But yeah, at least we're finally getting somewhere. The next charge would be... Manipulation of Namine. Child abuse. Manipulation of Sora. Conspiracy to murder Xemnas. Attempted murder of Sora. Assault. Theft. I'm assuming we've already proven the Manipulation of Sora and Child abuse charges already...or am I jumping the gun here?
Again, I'm flattered that you'd fantasize about me. :sly:
Honey, you don't even know what I look like. But I'm flattered that you fantasize about me. :p As for me, I haven't dreamed about KHV at all, unless I'm worried that I'm going to get banned for being a pervy author.
Even Naminé was getting a bit impatient. Janexna was right. This was about Larxene, not Marluxia or herself. She only came here as a witness, not the defendant. "Your Honor," she said politely, "I believe Mr. Xelax is attempting to stall for time. He seems to keep pressing an irrelevant point in an attempt to "find my twitch" as it were." She gave Xelax a hard stare. "I came here to answer questions, not to be accused of something that you believe I did. I mean, really now. You seem to take after Mr. Gavin in more ways than one." She sighed. "At least when Mr. Wright or Mr. Justice ends up in this type of situation, they know when to back off on their way of thinking and look at the case from another angle. In other words..." Her eyes narrowed impatiently. "...LISTEN TO YOUR PARTNER." Then she addressed Ms. Janexna. "If you check the Court Record, you'll find that Mr. Xelax was the one who brought up the theory, not the prosecution..." That is what he stated. But no one has actually defined it. So I'm going to quote the following from http://www.childwelfare.gov/pubs/factsheets/whatiscan.cfm: She looked at the judge apologetically. "Forgive me, your Honor. I know I'm talking out of turn and it's the prosecution's job to do this, but Mr. Xelax has been constantly pushing a point that has long been proven irrelevant to the current defendant and I feel that everyone in this courtroom would like this matter dropped for the time being. So, please, unless the defense has any actual questions to ask me instead of accusations as this is supposed to be a Cross-Examination, I'd like to step down from the stand as there is no real reason for me being up here." Naminé took a deep, cleansing breath. "And in case you're wondering where I got that info from, I did some quick research during the break." Kairi was stunned. She had just talked out of turn against the defense themselves. She could only imagine what the judge would say about all of this. It didn't look pretty. Kairi gripped Sora's arm tightly cutting off the circulation. This was about to get ugly...
OOC: You know, for once, I agree with Janexna. This whole thing is supposed to be about Larxene, but Xelax has deflected it WAY off topic. Seriously, I say a penalization for beating on a dead horse. Naminé isn't the defendant, Larxene is. All Naminé was supposed to do was testify about Larxene, but the entire shift of focus has been completely destroyed and off track. But Erkz is the judge... BIC: Kairi had a bit more respect for Janexna. At least someone on the defense actually had some common sense and wasn't afraid to use it. And of course it had to be the only woman in this courtroom. While the guys were trying to argue off the tracks, she managed to keep her focus despite not saying much about the case. Kairi rolled her eyes at the irony. The whole argument was wearing everyone's patience thin. Namine could sense it. Xelax had deflected the entire argument off topic and should be penalized for that. This was Larxene's trial, not hers. Namine questioned Xelax's strategy. He was obviously under the impression that his beliefs and irrelevant evidence would give him the boost he needed to win. However, in this case, the guy was just making a fool out of himself. How'd he become a defense attorney in the first place? He didn't seem to have a shred of honor or dignity. He had pride, she'd give him that much. But believing that you were right the entire time would limit your perspective from the truth. And in his blind arrogance to prove that he was better than logic and common sense, he had only crippled his case and let his defendants down in the process. She could only hope that the judge would see that...
Naminé thought it was hilarious that Xelax was STILL trying to fight with meaningless conjectures. Right...Lexaeus and Zexion were down in the basement. She was all the way up on the thirteenth floor. That would mean she'd have to run down how many flights of steps? Considering she couldn't Dark Portal at the time (and the defense STILL hadn't proved she could) Naminé knew she would've gotten caught immediately. Seriously, this was getting ridiculous now. She figured that Xelax would try bringing up irrelevant evidence that had nothing to do with the charges at hand. She crossed her arms and waited. The guy didn't know when to admit he'd been beaten. There was also the fact that she was always being watched. When and how could she have escaped? Running could only take you so far... Kairi was getting a bit ticked now. This defense attorney was trying to fight dirty by deflecting blame onto Naminé. She glared at the judge. The defense's entire argument was irrelevant to Larxene. Why couldn't he see that?
OOC: Yeah, well Kristoph got his butt wiped by a spiky-haired prick, a guy with demonic horns and some rocker with a funky hairdo that couldn't tell he was being manipulated. Actually, I kinda like the fact that Xelax is taking after Kristoph. It gives him a darker edge around his personality. ;) -EDIT- Zexion makes a good point. Namine is a WITNESS. She's not the DEFENDANT.
OOC: I think it's point, set and match, dude. Now if only Erkz were here so we could actually get on with this trial...considering we just spent how many pages of posts on this one topic...
Kairi didn't know what she was seeing, but a strange dark aura seemed to be emanating from Xelax. She didn't know if anyone else sensed it, but the power seemed cold and desolate, as if the defense attorney himself was possessed by some sort of tainted spirit. Her eyes narrowed apprehensively. The funny thing was that the defense was shouting, but what he had said was irrelevant. The prosecution claimed that Naminé couldn't have dark portaled during the Castle Oblivion timeline because she couldn't. All the defense was doing was bringing up events that happened afterwards. She slightly smiled at the attorney's enthusiasm. He was changing the subject (yet again) and she knew the prosecution wouldn't stand for it. Naminé sat on the witness stand silent. The defense attorney thought he had figured a loophole. But he STILL hadn't disproved anything during Castle Oblivion. Every event that he had just shouted out happened afterwards. And looking at the timeline, his points were irrelevant to the prosecution's arguments. Xelax was grasping at straws as usual. Not to mention that this had NOTHING to do with Larxene anymore. The defense was doing a magician's slight of hand, avoiding the issue by diverting everyone's attention somewhere else. She hoped this new judge would be fair and could see through this desperation act. Otherwise it'd be days before they even got through ONE charge...
When Sora belched, Kairi awoke with a start. She rubbed her eyes and looked at him disapprovingly. "Geez, Sora. Didn't your mom teach you any manners?"
OOC: Alright, I take it back. It was only my initial reaction. I'm sorry. :cryinganime: Kairi looked at the judge again and did a double take. The judge looked completely different all of a sudden. She glanced down at her bag of M&Ms. Could someone have poisoned it with a drug to enable hallucinations? Kairi shook her head. She didn't even OPEN the bag yet. Stifling a yawn, she realized that she must've been tired. It didn't make her any less suspicious, though. She leaned her head on Sora's shoulder and began to rest her eyes...
OOC: It was either that or the "Clock King." If you've seen Batman:TAS, you know who I'm talking about. :p But, yeah. When you said top hat and rimmed glasses, you've got one of those two images in my mind. I know it's different for everyone else, but that's just me.
At first, Kairi was slightly stunned at this new judge. "Reminds me of some pimp daddy," she muttered under her breath. But this seemed a bit too convenient. This judge just appeared out of nowhere and claims to be the previous judge's offspring? As she made her way back to the audience booth, the nagging feeling crept to her mind. She hoped it was paranoia, but... Excusing herself from Riku and Sora, she quietly made her way outside the courtroom and headed for the bathroom. As soon as she locked herself in one of the stalls, she took out her cell phone and began dialing... Feeling a bit better now that she patched things up with Riku, Naminé was back on the witness stand. She didn't know what the defense's strategy was. They had a whole hour to come up with one after all. But she knew somehow that they had just begun to pin the blame on other people. She usually didn't take sides, but the way that the defense was shunning the truth, all Naminé could do now was hope that the truth would finally come to light... Kairi hung up her phone and let out a sigh of relief. After making a few calls, she was confident that if there was something else going on, they'd be ready for it. If her suspicions were wrong, it'd be just pure paranoia. But, if she were right... She headed back into the courtroom and took her seat beside Sora. If she were right, they'd be ready for it...

OOC: Good to have you back. Now we can finally get somewhere in this case. Basically, Xelax used the "Naminé is the mastermind and was using Larxene and Marluxia to get the Keyblade for herself" defense by attempting to bring up that Naminé could've dark portaled out of Castle Oblivion at any time. Unfortunately (for the defense), the prosecution brought up the argument that Naminé couldn't have dark portaled during Castle Oblivion. Naminé even went up against Xelax's argument in saying that if she could truly dark portal at the time, then why did she RUN out of the room when Axel let her escape. She could've easily DP'ed out of there if she had the ability. Everything went into chaos when Goofy mistook Xemnas for Sora and in his haste to run away, he tripped and his shield collided with the judge (who heard something inside him snap) and had to call an hour recess because of it. Pika_Power received an 8-gallon bag of yellow Skittles from Kairi who had it in her purse (who also has a bag of M&Ms as backup), Naminé finally apologized to Riku and Repliku. Also, Kairi's getting suspicious about Janexna's odd behavior and noticed that the prosecution is stronger than Xelax by himself, but only if they would stop arguing with each other. Now Sora, Riku, Kairi, Naminé and Pika_Power are all having a group huddle. Oh, and Namine is STILL on the witness stand. I think that pretty much sums up everything until Judge Erkz finally recovers.
Kairi walked up to the little pow-wow of friends. She gave Sora an incredulous look. "'Troublesome?' You feeling okay, Sora? If it's anyone who'd use that word, it'd be Riku." She glanced over at Xelax and Janxena, wondering what was going on in their heads at the moment...
Naminé looked at Pika_Power questionably. "Don't you think that you should bring your partner into this? After all, we don't want you two to clash again. I wasn't kidding when I said that you two are stronger than the defense as long as you and Harvey aren't arguing." She stopped herself. "Or was I only thinking that?" She did a double take. "No, wait. That was Kairi's thoughts, not mine." She shook her head. "Why am I thinking of someone else's thoughts all of a sudden?!" Kairi couldn't do anything from where she was, but she felt Naminé's confusion. "Get your thoughts together, girl. We don't want to have an identity crisis on our hands..."
