One thing I try to live by is 'time waits for no one', which I took from The Girl Who Leapt Through Time. It reminds me to not let life pass me by, live in the now, so to speak. Instead of waiting for opportunities to present themselves to me, seek them out and so on. Another phrase I try to remember when life seems tough is 'this too shall pass', a Persian Proverb (thanks Mak!). Anything, no matter how cumbersome, can be overcome in time..

I once got handed a leaflet at my university that invited me to some Christian event.. I mocked it openly and then threw it away. The next day, some other people were handing out the same leaflet and among them was one of my best friends. ;__; I felt immediate shame.
