Naminé snapped out of her thoughts and looked at Roxas strangely. Then she burst out into a fit of giggles. "Roxas, you're such a goof!" She shook her head in amusement. "You really are Sora's other half." When Roxas continued to look blank, she sighed. "I'm not sad because of what happened in the past. I'm worried because that prosecutor down there is going to be penalized for using outright accusations instead of thinking things through before speaking!" She turned back to the center of the courtroom. "Unless Mr. Power can come up some evidence to back up his accusations, the prosecution's going to take a penalty..." Then an idea popped into her head. "Unless the judge decides that this matter isn't serious enough to wield a penalty. After all, the prosecution hasn't exactly..." Her voice trailed off as she began murmuring to herself. If there was a way out of this, she couldn't think of one...
Naminé groaned. She knew this was going to happen. Mr. Xelax was going for revenge for being penalized before. She didn't know if Pika_Power had the evidence to back up his claims on this one. Maybe he should have consulted with Mr. Birdman first before firing off the accusations like that. She had some confidence in the Pokémon's abilities, but she had to face it. Both Mr. Power and Mr. Xelax had pretty much the same style of handling the case. Both were eager to jump on whoever was on the witness stand and accuse wildly without thinking of evidence. Naminé almost wondered what would've happened if Harvey or Janexna had done the Cross-Examinations. Would the opposite side have still raised an "OBJECTION!"? She knew that she had to have hope, but something told her that the prosecution had leapt before they looked...
So how goes the project? Or did everyone just off and forget about this? VGN's probably still waiting on voice samples most likely...
Kairi was a bit distracted by the fact that her M&Ms were almost gone despite it being a mega-bag. It was as if there was a leak somewhere that she couldn't detect. Granted, she was getting slightly bored. But as long as Sora was by her side, she didn't really mind. Kairi wondered what was going on in all of the lawyer's heads at the moment. Pika_Power seemed pretty sure of himself that Larxene would get all of the charges slammed down on her. Harvey Birdman looked like he would do a facepalm due to his partner's enthusiasm. Xelax was probably waiting to strike at his arch-rival's questions with more of his overly arrogant gestures. (And a few other moves that seemed to be pointed toward Larxene.) And Janexna just seemed like she wanted to get it on with Axel. Finally, there was also the Judge. He seemed to have a lot of wisdom in his young years. However, he still seemed a bit suspicious to Kairi. It was pretty convenient that this person popped out of nowhere when the first judge was critically injured. But he seemed fair and just. He definitely knew what he was doing. In case things took a turn for the worse, though...Kairi silently hoped that the phone call was the right thing to do...
OOC: Well, as long as you don't end up like Xelax did, I don't see a problem.
Naminé rolled her eyes. Pika_Power was doing the exact same thing that Xelax did to her. He was accusing more than he was questioning. She also was wondering if the Pokémon even bothered to check the updated testimony. Larxene had already admitted to the child abuse charges already. There was no reason to bring it up again repeatedly. OOC: I don't exactly do the bullet points for myself, you know. :sideways: EDIT: Okay, I guess you did see it. But still... I don't think that last part counted as her testimony. BIC: Naminé also was wondering how Pika_Power was planning on backing up the whole emotions without a heart issue. The Ansem Reports? The video tapes? The script? Because if she knew the defense, they would be able to easily counter it with their own evidence. And then there was Mr. Birdman. Obviously, he decided to let Mr. Power to take the questioning. Was this part of the prosecution's strategy? Or was Mr. Power going off without consulting his partner again? She massaged her temples in frustration. Both sides were even. But would either side let the other win?
Updated Testimony... It began when we found out that Naminé had summoned Sora into the steps of Castle Oblivion where Marluxia hatched up a plan that I got involved in that he shared with me. [*]If Naminé hadn't lured Sora, we wouldn't have initiated the plan otherwise. [*]The plan was to take over the Organization with the Keyblade wielder as the main component. [*]My status in the plan was more of a sidekick than anything else... [*]It was obvious that the two of us won't be able to fully take Xemnas on, he was too powerful. [*]In the end, Naminé was to replace his memories with new ones once we found out how Sora discovered Castle Oblivion, and what the girl was capable of. [*]It appeared she wanted her own hero and once the order was given, she didn't protest much...not that she could. [*]She's not the type of girl who would argue back or press her own opinions. [*]Fragile thing she was...or is. There were times she wasn't under surveillance; her face was always on the damn sketch pad. [*]I don't know how often she was under surveillance since I was sometimes with Axel in another room. [*]She was never to be killed or harmed, because we needed her for her connection with Sora, to us, and the studies of memories that were in action. [*]I taunted her on wanting Sora's company, to meet him, to save her, yet everything went underway soon nonetheless. [*]I wasn't given much orders from Marluxia, except to watch Sora's progress on the crystal ball with the a**hol-I mean, Axel. I mostly acted on my own volition." [*]The only time I ever took action was when it was my turn to toy around with Sora a little, I found him to be amusing really, all over this girl and so passionate about it, hilarious, in my opinion. [*]Yet, I didn't have much to do there, kicked him, had a battle, the time when the lucky charm was switched, teased him a bit for it. [*]I mostly spent my time talking to Axel, Vexen, and then came Repliku, who was really just a plain doll, empty, governed by the thoughts and memories Naminé placed on him, and who broke and trampled on his 'heart' later on. [*]That, and it was one of Vexen's creation. Doomed for some failure somehow. [*]Later on we included Axel in our plan, but it was our greatest mistake. [*]I revealed the trap to him and told him to stop continuing. [*]I was truthfully in a bad mood, everything was ruined, and we were so close..." [*]I get more violent when I'm pissed off and I lashed out on Sora, kicked him again as he went and dared to come at me when I was obviously spilling out the truth that he couldn't apparently take, and for the first time, landed a physical hit on Naminé. Remember that according to the AA rules, you can only press the statements already given above. I'm pretty sure I paraphrased the additions accurately, right?
OOC: Um...no. We're basing all of our arguments on the game itself and NOT the manga. Everyone here believes that the manga isn't canon to the game's storyline so none of us are using that as evidence or any of our character's storylines. Her "death" is based on whatever you see in the Re:CoM cutscene. And that's all.
Namine felt sorry for Repliku. Despite what everyone thought, he was still his own individual with his own thoughts and feelings. That was why she had felt like apologizing and thanking him earlier. She didn't think about it during Castle Oblivion as he disappeared before she said anything. Namine was glad that Larxene admitted to the abuse charge. At least she wasn't getting out of this completely clean...not that she was ever clean in the first place. Then her mind started wandering to what punishment the judge would give her. Death penalty was out of the question. Maybe she would be stripped of her cloak, chained to the floor and tickle-tortured by numerous Pikachu. A slight smile appeared on her face. She remembered Larxene once mentioned her fear of mice. And her thunder abilities wouldn't affect the electric mouse Pokemon. It might've been cruel and unusual punishment, but death or solitary would've been more of a blessing than a sentence... Kairi could almost see the gears turning in Namine's head. She wondered why she hadn't brought her notepad and colored pencils with her. Maybe she could draw what was going on in the courtroom since no cameras were allowed. Then Kairi remembered that she had kept it in her purse. She reached in and started rummaging past accessories and rolled-up teen magazines. To her surprise, it wasn't there. That's when she noticed the pad that Pika_Power was using to ink up notes. Yup, there was no mistaking it. He was using Namine's drawing pad as note paper.
OOC: Considering I haven't had the pleasure of reading the KH2 novels like you have, I'm stuck with whatever knowledge I've got from the Re:CoM and KH2 cutscenes. I'm sorry that I'm not sticking completely to canon (as I don't have all the information readily available), but I'm working with what I've got available, okay? And I don't like changing personalities in mid-story. It makes it harder for everyone else to adjust story-wise. BIC: The defense seemed to be wrapping up their "Cross-Examination." Soon it would be time for the prosecution to cross-examine Larxene's testimony. Naminé was pretty sure there were contradictions somewhere. There was something that bothered her, though. She realized that she wasn't the same shy, timid girl that she was back at Castle Oblivion. And she knew she rarely got angry. But ever since she had re-merged with Kairi, a whole flood of emotions that weren't available to her finally managed to creep in her mind. Call it tainted if you would, but she was feeling resentment toward Larxene and Marluxia at the moment. Sure, she could understand them being a Nobody herself, but after finally looking back on the incident, she wished that she had been stronger. Brave enough to stand up to them earlier. But, of course, she couldn't change the past. She could only accept it and move on. Then she noticed Roxas had been talking to her. She had been so wrapped up in her own thoughts, that she completely forgot about the question. She looked into his dreamy-looking eyes and sighed. "At the moment, believe it or not, we're still our own individual beings. If we were still in Sora and Kairi's bodies when it happened, then yes. It would be confusing. But right now since we're separate and have our own forms to move around willingly..." Naminé looked down at her feet in embarrassment. "...then the kiss was just ours. No one elses." Kairi chewed on her bottom lip thoughtfully. She didn't know why, but there was something in Larxene's answers that didn't seem to fit. Granted, it sounded like the genuine truth, but it was still a matter of perspective. Whatever intentions one might have, it's the person's actions that determine who they truly are. Despite what one might think happened, they can always selectively block out the true memories that laid within. Either way, Kairi was pretty sure that the child abuse charges would stick because of what Naminé had proven. Intentional or accidental, physical hitting was still considered physical abuse, no matter how the defense tried to sugar-coat it. She was slightly unnerved at the fact that the Organization members didn't think there was a punishment bad enough for them. They were, after all, dead so to speak. But this courtroom seemed slightly surreal. If whatever force that brought them together had the power to bring the slain back to life, Kairi was pretty sure that the same force would be able to carry out the Judge's sentences regardless of impossibility or not...

OOC: Despite that, in testimonies I'm still sticking with the script (except the KH2 novels as I'm having a hard time remembering what happened there). I'll admit the personality thing is my schtick. But are you really expecting Naminé to just sit on her butt the entire time and drawing without interacting with anybody? I can play the romantic and lovey-dovey, but the shy, timid personality is a bit hard for me to write for her. I'm not going to have her get up in Larxene or Marluxia's face if that's what you're worried about. I'll stick to the canon in testimonies and cross-examinations, but outside of that, I've already developed her "non-existent" personality along with Kairi's, so I might as well stick with it. BIC: Kairi didn't know what was going on over in the defendant's booth, but she could've swore she had just seen one of the Organization members pop out from underneath a card. On closer inspection, she realized it was just Luxord. Then she looked over at the other end of the courtroom and noticed the clone of Riku sitting with anger on his face. It was a bit odd to see the older Riku sitting next to Sora and Riku's younger body at the same time. Granted, she thought the tattered skirt thing or whatever it was that stuck out of Riku's behind was a little...flashy. The outfit sort of worked. At least it wasn't a Batsuit with nipples... Naminé was still a little sore that Larxene still belittled her even after she was eliminated. But what also got to her was that she seemed to be skipping over a few details. Yes, she did lure Sora to Castle Oblivion. But if she remembered correctly, someone else had prodded him in that direction as well. BEFORE he even laid eyes on Castle Oblivion... Of course, she knew this because she was the one changing Sora's memories after all. So, she knew almost everything that he knew...
Progress Report... Okay, the update's not ready yet, but I guarantee the next chapter will be up by the end of the week. I feel it's time to wrap up their day and get to the pageant already so this next chapter will reflect that. I've got a couple of papers to write, but I'm already 60% done with the chapter. Just have to flesh it out a bit. I'll see you when it's ready! Thanks for all of the support! :D Oh, and try not to spam off-topic so much. Thankyees. ;)
OOC: Um...not to god-mod or anything, but aren't we still doing this by Ace Attorney rules? So, shouldn't the testimony be in bullet-points or something? It began when we found out that Naminé had summoned Sora into the steps of Castle Oblivion where Marluxia hatched up a plan that I got involved in that he shared with me. But that's just my opinion. BIC: Naminé glared at Larxene. "Fragile, huh?" She made to get up. "I'll show her fragile that lousy..." Kairi forced Naminé back down. "I don't think getting angry will help anything, Naminé." Naminé shook her head. "After everything that I've been through, could you blame me?" Kairi sighed. From what she heard, Naminé used to be shy and timid when she had met Sora at Castle Oblivion. However, since it had been more than a year, she had grown to be more confident and outgoing. Anyone who knew here wouldn't have thought she was the same girl. Naminé was a bit troubled by Larxene's testimony. True, she gave her account of what she thought of the whole thing. But she noticed a few gaping holes in that testimony despite the amount of detail...
Kairi couldn't help but giggle at Axel's stammering apology. "Don't worry about it, Axel. In the end, you did save Sora's life. Granted you should've just took me to Sora instead of trying to do the whole Heartless thing, but I forgive you." She gave him a quick hug. Naminé was a bit concerned when Roxas started stammering as well. It didn't help he was blushing either. "Roxas..." She crossed her arms in mock annoyance. "Is there something that you aren't telling me?"
Naminé could almost sense what Mr. Xelax was thinking at the moment. So she voiced it to Axel. "I think Mr. Xelax is wondering why you wouldn't have any animosity toward Roxas since he's a witness for the prosecution," she stated. "However, you ARE best friends, right? I mean, I'd understand if you were slightly ticked, but despite what your defense attorney thinks, just remember that the witness is supposed to tell the truth, no matter how painful it might sound. And no matter what happens..." She glanced over at Roxas. "...you always need mutual friends after all."
Kairi gave Demyx a shy smile. "Um...hi, Demyx." Naminé didn't know what else to say either. "Hello, Demyx." OOC: Seriously, what else could they say? :xp:
