Okay, this has been a subject that has made me curious what people's opinions are for it, because I notice this is becoming a more and more common thing among roleplays. Now, when I say RNG or coin flipping I mean these scenarios: -RNGing groups together based on a number system -Determining who wins and loses a fight based on a coin flip -Determining whether someone lives or dies based on random chance -Determining the outcome of a scenario based on random chance (whether it be RNG, coin flipping, dice rolls, or another method) -Determining how much damage an enemy does to the player -Determining how much damage the player does to the enemy There are many other ways these can be used, but these are the scenarios that tend to pop up the most. When you hear that RNG is being used, do you not care, or do you get really bothered but just stay silent about it. My opinion on the RP chance game changes depending on how it is used. I prefer if RNG is being used to be told about it beforehand, so I can know whether or not I will join an rp because of it. I do not mind, if for instance, your rp has a predetermined destiny that all players are aware of, and RNG is just picking who goes first, I don't mind that. What I do not like, is when RNG conflicts with other systems within the RP. Imagine something like so: You play a nobody in a kingdom hearts rp, and you have spent a lot of time levelling up your character to make sure they can fight in the final battle because you know you will last that long. But something happens in the RP and the creator takes a list of every character, gives them a number, and presses the randomize button. Your character's number was chosen, and no matter what the outcome is, your character will die. You can fight all you want but the result will still be the same, all because a computer picked your number. And now that my thoughts are out, what are yours?
Tal still held onto the box, trying to figure out some sort of method to get to the part under their necks. She wasn't quite sure if she could, but she analyzed everything around her just to see. Then she heard a little voice in her head. "Diffadon! I'm coming to help you with what you need." The little dragon flew in past the ring and over to Tal and he let out a "mighty roar" and Tal gave him a look and Ember spoke, "I can get the part under their necks, no problem at all! And I won't have to use brisingr, since I teethed." Tal looked around to make sure a golem wasn't after her at that point but she nodded at Ember and he flew up to the golem trying to not get noticed, and went to the little part under it's neck and it attacked the gem. Tal meanwhile made sure she didn't drop the box and started whispering encouragements towards Ember.
Tal was definitely happy that her reflexes were working today. She caught the box and saw the golem get it's sights on her. Tal decided to go with a strategy that kept her as far away from the edge of the ring as possible, since she figured that if she did get hit, she would maybe have enough reaction time to catch herself. The golem approached her as she held a firm grip on the box to make sure she didn't drop it. The golem seemed to decide this time it would raise it's fist up, like it did with Kendric, and she believed it at first. So much that she didn't realize it was lifting up his foot to stomp her instead. Tal realized this and quickly slid out of the way and barely missed being crushed. She let out a quick stressed out breath before she ran away from the golem and looked over at Kendric, "You wouldn't happen to know weaknesses or limitations of golems do you? I mean, I honestly did not pay attention to that lesson. Should have, but I didn't."
Hall of Records Seiza watched the group leave, smiling a little bit at how their interactions brought up his mood. It wasn't often he was given the chance to communicate with people for long. Since they usually ran in and ran out with what they needed. He started to put books away before he noticed someone dressed in blue out of the corner of his eye, and he turned around right as they spoke, "Ah you there, with the hair that looks like a concoction of strawberries and bananas! As I understand it you are the curator in this facility is that correct." Seiza misheard him for a moment, and was almost certain her heard custodian in there, and he looked over and commented, "Did you just call me a janitor?" "No not at all, young man. I was just curious if I could be so bold as to ask a favor of you." He gave it a moment's thought before he answered, "As long as it doesn't involve a keyblade or running around. What is it?" Merlin shook his head and waved around his arm, "Oh none of that fiddle-faddle, you see here young Mizu gave me this book before her unfortunate disappearance. She asked me to research it on behalf of the Order. And by jove I tried, but it's too torn with several of the pages missing. By my own beard I can barely make out the title." "So why are you telling me about this?" "If anybody knows the possibility of worlds, there's you. Because there was once a world in this book." Seiza laughed a little and looked at Merlin in a sort of disbelief, "So we got the most magical member of the order, and one of the wizards we trust the most, and they couldn't do anything about it... and you are expecting me to do something about it?" "Well you could at least fix the binding. And who knows, perhaps the pages are scattered throughout the worlds." "I can fix the binding, but looking throughout the worlds for pages of a book is impossible for me to do. Perhaps you should ask someone else around here... maybe Kaida, she's always up for that work." "I'll look into that then... but remember: even if it is tarnished, every book has it's merit. This book is like the human brain, we must fill it with the knowledge it lacks, because that's what makes the world go round." Merlin made his way out of the area, after handing him what was left of the book. Seiza sat down and examined the book and pulled out book fixing tools that they fortunately already had within the library for situations where books got needlessly destroyed. He started working on it as much as he could until he was pretty sure the binding was in better condition.
Partner projects... great. Tal looked for a place to put her bag and whispered, "Stay inside Ember, I'll be back." and she placed the bag down. She stepped forward when motioned to do so and she looked over at Kendric just to process for a moment who her partner was. She had no background on his powers or anything, she just knew he was one of the smart guys in the class. She hoped that would at least come in handy. When the two got into the area for the challenge, and a large glowing red ring appeared around the area they were designated to fight in. The dean stated a reminder that if they went outside the ring, they would also fail the trial. Tal took a deep breath to prepare herself. Then the two golems appeared, towering at their 15 feet in height. Tal remembered to keep herself calm and collect, and not to freak out, not to try anything stupid. "Alright, time to survive in the ring... you alright over there, Ritter? You need me to hold the box?"

Kaida had her hands in her pockets the whole time he spoke, she stared more at the hand with the broken and burned wood than she did at his present. It was clearly bothering her. But she finally snapped herself out of it to have more of a look at the gift he made her, and the explanation made her smile. She took the charm wordlessly and examined it, looking at all of what he attempted. One of the marks she looked at and she knew there was only one way he could have made a mistake like that, and she grabbed his hand and spoke, "Hikaru when you whittle, you whittle away from you." she examined the hand and chuckled, "You got really lucky with that one, when I made a mistake like that before I sliced off quite a bit of my skin." She let go of his hand and spoke, "Aux's charm would be easy to fix... burnt wood you just need to chip off, unless he burned it internally too... and... well... fighting him in the past he wasn't necessarily that bad but I have no idea how he is at this point." She seemed to be avoiding the topic of the charm but after a moment she walked close to him and gave him a hug, "Thanks you... I do like the gift, I'm also glad you're okay."
Seiza listened to Beuce speak and chuckled, "A hopeful journey. But no one knows the powers of the guardians. Can you be certain that will be what you receive? Either way... that would be the greatest thing anyone has done for me." he looked back at his arm and continued, "And I didn't even catch your name." he looked back at Beuce and Cat, since those two seemed to be the ones interested and spoke, "Kuma is in the training grounds, if you'd like I could bring yo-" "Kuuupooooo." Seiza looked over at the moogle coming in the room and a rapid beeping could be heard from his monitor, "I thought you were with Kaida whe-" "She's talking to a friend, kupo... meanly. but she's talking to a friend." The beeping settled down and he started breathing slowly, "Don't do that to me." "Sorry, I did mean t-" "You wouldn't happen to know where the training grounds are, would you?" "Yup, Kaida pointed them out to me earlier, kupo." "Great, then you can take these two to them for me, okay?" "Sure!" The moogle looked at Beuce and Cat and spoke, "This way, kupo!" and it flew off ahead.
Stat building time! woo woo! I have 3 points, I am putting them all into Willpower. I'll do the math in a bit soo.... I am taking 15 crowns, and spending it on Defense. I am taking 6 crowns and spending it on Speed. MATH TIME ENDS WITH THE STATS BEING: Speed= 19.5 Defense= 9.25 Resistance= 8.25 and I have two crowns left.

Seiza was expecting a question about where to find Kuma next, so he was genuinely surprised when he was asking him about... well... his machine. He looked back at it for a moment and smiled a little sadly, "It is not uncommon for people on this world to not come from here. A friend and I were both trying to just... go to another world from our homeworld. So we built ourselves a ship. We didn't know the concepts of gummi ships or any of that so it was entirely homemade without certainty that it would work. We weren't done with it yet, and my friend... accidentally turned on the ship when I was working on it. Everything with the trip went wrong and while they did not mean to, they damaged my heart. We were fortunate to get to this world in time, where they helped get me healed up. But my heart is still very weak and damaged, just a bit of stress is enough to raise an alert. It's why I stick around here, it's not too far from the medical section and..." he was silent for a moment as he looked back up and the observatory section where he could see stars outside of the window and he spoke, "It basically involves less extremes for me... it's just like my home and involves..." the ending of what he said sounded like he didn't mean it, "...it involves less unneeded travel." he quickly turned back to the group and smiled, "So do you want to know where to find Kuma then?"
Seiza let out a sigh as he put back down the book he was looking through and replied, "Central Haven may be open to guests from everywhere.... but with it's Mark of Mastery exams they are very particular who they give them to. They want people to train with the masters, and the masters either give them the exam on their own, or they get Kuma to do it... you could go and ask Kuma if you'd like... but..." he heard a beeping noise come from his monitor and he quickly looked at it nervous before he calmed down, "Kuma can be tough about it."
Kaida watched as the group seemed to break off after Hikaru told them something, and she was aiming to just keep on walking. But he cut off her path and asked if they could talk. Kaida looked at the moogle with her, and the moogle looked back at her. Then Kaida started to looked around the rest of the room and the moogle looked around confused before it spoke, "What's wrong Kaida, kupo?" She stopped looking in the other direction and placed her hand up to her chest, "Am I going insane Jax? Does Hikaru actually want to talk to me?" she let out laugh and raised up her hands, "Well he didn't want to talk about leaving to find Aux. In fact he seems to have a new group of friends. For all I know he's got one of them right behind me and actually wants to talk to them..." Kaida pretended to put her arm around a person and spoke, "Well hello... er... Air. How long have you been hanging out with Hikaru... oh sorry Krowle-" "KUPO!" Kaida jumped and stared at the moogle scared before he went close to Kaida's face, "Don't be mean to your friend, kupo." then he flew off towards the Hall of Records. She let out a quick breath and scratched the back of her head, "Alright I'm being a jerk, I'm sorry. What do you want to talk about?"
Ugh I get so sick of that I've gotten so scared of it you just sit there... in horror... as they throw the silver wrapped chocolates at you... and that's when you realize. you need to dodge, or be kissed
