    So...

Dark Helmet is MY HERO. One of them anyway. There is also Dr. Claw, Dr. Evil, Cobra Commander, Megatron, Ozzy Osbourne, .. ok these aren't exactly heroes but they are all similar in some way to me.

    Sorry guys

    Nominating Rules:
    1. You may only nominate two members per category.
    2. You must send the correct nominations to the correct people. If you do not we exercise the right to completely disregard your Nominations.
    3. Only send one PM to the staff member, even if you are sending them two sections. For example, even though you are sending DPWolf Thread Nominations and Best/Worst Member Nominations, you still put it in one PM.
    4. Please directly copy and paste the categories. You do not have to nominate for each category, however still include them in your PM. Simply leave it blank or put an 'N/A' in the blank space. For example, if I choose not to nominate anything for the Thread Nominations category, I will still include it in my PM.
    5. Please try to use a member's current username. Do not nominate using nicknames, real names, former usernames, etc. We will not hunt down who you are referring to.
    6. You may not nominate yourself for categories.
    7. While we allow and encourage campaigning for winning categories, there are certain rules you must follow. You may not create threads or make posts promoting yourself or your friends for certain categories. You may only campaign through your signature/avatar/profile. You may not post on other people's profiles to campaign. If you are found bullying members into nominating or voting for you, you will be banned for two days, you will be taken out of any category you were nominated for, and every one of your votes will be disregarded.

Highlighted #7 but some people might want to remember #6 as well.

In seriousness, that one is closed because making a post to 'vote for so and so for whatever' can be taken as a call for attention so to be fair, it was closed too...

I would say it depends on the actual material and how it is being presented. You can find some very poor books, television shows and video games that can be instructional and yet crap. All 3 also are used for entertainment purposes, so you can learn not so much from them.

The material and presentation to me seems to be best found in books or on television shows such as Discovery, Animal Planet, the History Channel, the Science Channel, etc. Sometimes it is better to read the material or sometimes it's better to have the actual visual presentation there that TV or a computer offers. This isn't to say that in the future, video games can't catch up with TV and books and even do a very great job with education material. Certainly the potential is there with RPGs, games on evolution, etc. In my archeology classes, we use some computer games and also work on graphics for archeological training and information and it's quite useful. I also have used a computer for visual exams for chemistry and genetics for forensics.

So I'd say mainly books and TV lead for presentation of material that is educational for the moment but video games, as more designers and educators explore that avenue, will easily catch up.

yeah, I can see why someone thought it was a finger, but it's the palm of the hand closest to the wrist. You could fix that easily enough though. That's a pretty good free-drawn picture.

    Sorry guys

Those of you who posted 'vote for me or someone else' threads, I closed them so that you hopefully won't get disqualified for breaking rules. Feel free to add your desires to get voted in your signatures, however.

Some of those threads were funny. It sucked to close them. :( But ah well.

here are the rules so you guys know: http://www.kh-vids.net/showthread.php?t=85910
