You gotta imagine the situation they're in. If you're defenseless, you'll want to look for a way to get out somehow. They are all in panic, and thinking that killing Remina and her father is like hope to them, so they go with it. If this were happening to us, you wouldn't be all "Oh well Im gonna die better just stay calm". Im not good at explaining these things ok just think about it.
It's no surprise. Just think if this were really happening. You'd be so shocked and feeling helpless you wouldn't know what to do. So, what's the best thing to do? Blame it on someone. Human nature man.
