Ula realized at this point she should have enough money for a pin or two. She made her way to where the pin shop was supposedly located and she entered in singing out a quiet, “Hello.” as she entered. “Oh, great. Another one,” Carl mumbled, putting down his newspaper and tuning up his hearing aid. “What is it that you want?” “Oh… um.” Ula scratched the back of her head, “I just wanted to buy a couple pins and then I’ll be off… until I need more pins... “ “Doesn’t sound half bad,” Carl gave a thousand yard stare and put it bluntly. “Display is over there. Just choose the one that you want. Or whatever. Couple. Sure. Prices are listed by each pin.” Ula marched her way over to the display wall and browsed through all the pins. She wasn’t entirely sure what the difference between each one would necessarily be yet besides the characters on them. Not really thinking too much into it, Ula pointed to the Pinocchio pin and the Mufasa & Rafiki pin and chirped, “Those two please!” Two thwacks landed sharply on the counter as Carl slammed the two pins down in front of him, getting them from a box besides him. He grumbled at his magicband+ and tried, with great effort, to get it to work. “Dang doodad…” He eyed Ula. “Which one are you?” “Oh, I’m Ula! Nice to formally meet you.” “Yeah, yeah, yeah,” he brushed it off, before sarcastically adding, “Nice. The purchase went through.” He smiled. “Now… if you could make good on that promise from earlier…?” Ula nodded at Carl before smiling and waving as she finalized, “Have a good one.” before walking out the door.
When all was said and done, despite the mention of Walter helping out with the medical situation, Joshua brought his hands up to the knife and he slowly pulled it out of his eye. As he did, he let out a couple grunts in pain as he spoke, "First, Cynthia gets telekinesis, then Tobias stabs me in the eye... normally I'd be worrying about the paperwork but- ah." As Joshua pulled the knife fully from his eye he felt the pain in full force and he covered up his eye with his hand, "Tobias has great aim... anyway, I'm not sure if Tobias' outlook on the situation would have changed if we had explained the Cynthia situation... but I didn't think that was- shit." Joshua felt the blood coming through his hand and he quickly pulled a pocket first aid kit out of his jacket and he grabbed some gauze and placed it on his eye and held it there, "Anyway, I can confirm for a fact Cynthia does have telekinesis. The cell over there that's blown up is the indicator, I don't know what she did exactly, but I ended up tranquilizing her because she tried to leave. She called Tobias and you can tell the rest from there." Joshua turned to Jason and Benjamin and questioned, "What was your verdict?"

The three boxes that were laying on the chairs all had people approach and attempt to open them. The box in front of Mark was marked "Yesterday." Inside there was another box with a lock, but no key to open it. The box in front of Gwen was marked "Today." Opening it revealed a small heart-shaped box that was easily able to be opened. There was an inscription in cursive on the box that read: Everything happens for a reason, even if it hurts. The box in front of Camilla was marked "Tomorrow", upon opening it, a bird flew out of the box and landed on the back of the chair. The bird tweeted happily and seemed to be unafraid of any of the people. It flapped it's wings as if waiting for something.
There's another thing I'm looking at in hindsight I never go back and fix choices, but there's one thing I did that not a lot of people did... I removed people's names from the Vortex Club party list. I don't know who I removed and I don't know if I removed someone who could have helped me later, but I removed people. I'm wondering if this is going to have an effect. I know they wouldn't know it was me, unlike changing the grades where it's obvious there was tampering. This is the one choice I made that I'm starting to regret more and more as I think about it. Did you guys do this?
new chapter came out today, and so far it's probably my favorite my dad and I guessed early on that there would be some sort of power relating to Max's photography, and now that it was shown I think it's a little strange really. I get the impact of William living instead of dying, but I'm still trying to figure out how Max would have ended up hanging out with the Vortex club because of it... would Max's outlook on life really have changed that much because of William? I don't honestly believe that. Now I'm just wondering what happened with Chloe in this timeline. Also I may or may not have made Max kiss Chloe despite shipping Max and Warren. Also I want to know a lot more about Frank, something about Frank makes me want to know more about him. Also I KILLED LISA THIS IS A TRAGIC DAY.
When Tobias had moved and thrown the knives, Joshua had shot at his knee and had hoped that would have kept him down. Of course it didn't. Joshua had managed to move his arm in time so it wouldn't get sliced, but he had not anticipated a second knife going straight for his glasses. He missed it. It broke through, and went in at an angle, at the lower lid of his right eye, his worse eye at least. He tried his best not to audibly react. It really ****ing hurt, but he didn't have time to complain. He could tell based on the amount of time he had left he wouldn't react in time to shoot. Joshua waited for Tobias to get closer before he put all of his weight into a kick straight into the knee he had shot.
Every OC is accepted. I will add them to the Opening Post later. The thread has been opened. For exploration purposes, Anchored Down also works in a sort of prompt format. If you decide to go searching and don't want to wait in the post to see the response, message me saying something like, "Character x looked out the window." and I will have whatever is there. Most items you can interact with and get something out of it, but it isn't essential to look around. Example: "Character x looked at a painting." "The painting is of a deer with antlers made of tree branches. It looks like it needs a bit of restoring because the years have not been kind to the paint."
ooc thread Spoiler: Opening It isn't clear how long you have been dead. It could feel like minutes, it could feel like weeks. Either way, everyone who was arriving in the New Arrival station had died within the same week. The room looked kind of like an airport waiting room, only nicer and with very few people. Although much of the room was white, it wasn't an overbearing while that hurt the eyes. There were tables every couple or so feet with a colorful bouquet of flowers with a card in each one. There was a line of windows and a couple of the chairs had marked boxes on them, tied with a bow. There may have been a few people who had already arrived, but there was one girl in the room holding a letter in her hands. Everyone just arriving had only a letter on them, indicating where they were, and what they would be doing. The little girl, Rosemarie, had been in the room the longest out of the arrivals. She felt like she had been there forever, and she couldn't get over the fact that she'd passed on. However, when she saw someone new arrive, she would always go over and help the person out by explaining what was going on. She wished she had had that luxury, no one was here when she passed. Everyone was waiting, adjusting to the situation, or arriving. Arrivals would come through a really fancy door to the east side of the room. When they entered, they stumbled in with an array of colors trailing them, like a rainbow. They arrived as if the last second of their life was interrupted, surrounded by only colors. Going through the door brought them to the room where others just as confused as they could adjust. They were all waiting for whoever was coming to take them to the first meeting, but that shouldn't stop them from talking to others in the room. Or looking around the room.
"I'm sorry Glen I kind of had a nervous breakdown there it wasn't anything against you." Kaida genuinely looked upset over the idea she had once again let a friend down. Dang was she doing great at that. He mentioned a book they were after and Kaida just looked overall confused about what book they were talking about. Kaida grabbed her hair and pulled at it saying, "Ugh I don't like being left out of the loop, curse this job." Glen arrived back asking about where to find ice cream and Kaida shrugged and replied, "I don't know where but I'd like some! I'll pay for you guys as long as it's not too expensive."
Kassandra seemed to arrive right on cue for someone else to arrive. He looked back at Cynthia and replied, "She appears to be unconscious..." then when Kassandra made comment about the phone he looked down at it and found the contact almost as soon as the one she'd called arrived. Joshua looked at Tobias and backed closer to the cell after he stated his intentions and Joshua replied, "Kid, don't try to assume you know exactly what's going on. It'll get you killed. And I'm not talking about by me. So why don't you just turn around and go back the way you came." he held up the gun towards Tobias and continued, "Except I know you're probably not gonna listen to me."
Joshua walked out of his hiding space and reached the side of Cynthia. He wasn't sure if she was out cold yet, but as soon as she said, "Help me." He became concerned who she called. He quickly grabbed the phone out of her hands and shut it off before grabbing Cynthia's arm and lifting her up. He chose to not say a word and dragged Cynthia towards another cell. He kind of dropped her in the cell without much regard for her as a human being anymore. Then he shut and locked the door behind him. If Jason and Ben didn't finish up soon he was going to take matters into his own hands.
Joshua heard the shout, and Joshua heard the explosion. That wasn't good. That definitely wasn't good. If anything, he thought maybe there was suspicion, but not actual powers. This was most definitely proof if there ever was any. Cynthia seemed to be trying to walk away in a calm fashion based on the way she was breathing and the way her steps were paced, but he knew better. Joshua aimed the tranquilizer gun and shot it three times at Cynthia's chest. He knew he could at least get one in from his advantage but whether or not he could get more was uncertain. In fact he wasn't sure how she'd do with just one dart. It could work, it could not. He also couldn't see from his spot if they made impact because he was immediately transitioning to the second step. He didn't leave his spot, but he pulled out his gun. If she tried to make a run for it, he'd let her make it a few steps. But not out the door. He intended to shoot her legs. What would actually happen, he couldn't say.
Joshua listened to Jason's advice about not going near the cell, but he still made his way to that area regardless. He brought with himself his two handguns, and his special little friend the tranquilizer gun. He only had to pull it out on occasions such as this, when they were dealing with someone who could be deemed hostile. Joshua got himself into the room and heard Cynthia's yells, but did not respond to her, as he didn't wish to provoke her. He sat himself in a corner so he wasn't in Cynthia's line of sight. He had the tranquilizers placed in and ready, so if Cynthia had broken out of the cell he would be prepared to knock her out. Though he had the other gun out and ready in case she didn't get knocked out immediately.
Joshua listened to Jason's answer. He examined Jason's expressions as he spoke, and went through a long thinking process. His expression left no change, if it did it would be clear he was going through his own internal dilemma. He could tell Jason cared a lot about Cynthia even with this new information revealed. It hurt him to have to think that Cynthia turned out to even have powers at all. He knew that if Cynthia was killed for her powers, it would still hurt Jason. This was a dilemma he had every day with Abi. The difference being people knew Cynthia existed, Abi had never been mentioned. Ever. Joshua unfolded his hands and replied wholeheartedly, "You know our policy about any telekinetics or telepaths that are causing harm in any way." Joshua's voice lowered so Jason could hear him, "I know this is probably brand new information for you, and you were aware that Cynthia could in fact be psychic. So at the very least you haven't been hiding anything." Joshua put away the papers back in the folder as he continued, "I know how you feel about Cynthia, it's obvious you care about her, or at least I notice it. That's why I am not going to do anything myself, but this should be brought to Benjamin's attention immediately." Joshua looked Jason straight in the eyes and questioned, "Do you want to be the messenger and have me make sure nothing happens with Cynthia, or would you rather I told Benjamin and you went to watch over Cynthia?"
We're still looking through my mom's stuff, and today we found a bunch of her Where the Wild Things Are stuff. Which I really do love Where the Wild Things Are, even the movie which I know some people didn't like. I decided to quote one of my favorite quotes from the book, "Please don't go-- we'll eat you up-- we love you so." and I happened across this song. Which I really love. I've never heard this band before but I'm probably gonna start listening to more of their stuff based on this one.
Joshua listened to Jason explain the situation with Cynthia. During the conversation Joshua pulled a first aid kid out of his desk and placed it in front of Jason so he could use it to bandage himself if need be. Sure, it wasn't going to miraculously heal anything, but it'd at least do something. By the end of the explanation, he felt himself let out a slow breath as he folded his hands, "Jason, I know it is not a topic you necessarily want to discuss but I hope your aware that Cynthia's slip ups are starting to cause serious issues. I mean, it isn't all Cynthia's fault, but if these internal affairs keep up and Cynthia cannot work with anyone, I don't see how she'll have a future here." he was quiet for a moment before summing it up with, "But that's not my decision to make. If something happens to her you'd know about it long before me." Joshua started doing something that was a little more rare, and was something he found himself doing more when it was Jason talking with him than anyone else, showing emotion involving stress or playfulness. He wouldn't necessarily say Jason and he were friends, they got along. But Joshua and Jason were very close in age, where while even though Jason was technically a member for longer than Joshua, he was around when both of them were teens. So there was really no point in pretending he was an emotionless Bob with Jason around... because Jason knew Joshua when he was a lively little fifteen year old. Joshua pulled out a piece of paper and held his head as he read it, "Although hopefully this Tobias and Cynthia separation will now settle things down a bit..." he slammed the paper down on the desk and let out a laugh that was clearly an annoyed laugh, "Killing four people in front of security cameras are they absolutely kidding me..." He held up a printed shot of Tobias giving the finger to the camera and rubbed his temple, "It's like kids these days don't take their job seriously... or with at least some grace or dignity. Oh wow this job is making me sound like an old man... but at this point I wouldn't be surprised if this kid did a mission with absolutely nothing on...and I don't want to do that paperwork...anyway." Joshua placed the paper down and cracked his back and straightened himself up, "As long as most people got out of this okay, and the situation is taken care of, we should be fine... though there is one question I have." Joshua's break was over, and his face went straight back to it's emotionless interrogation face, "You've had skirmishes with Cynthia before, I've seen them. Usually you don't come out of it this bad. And from the way this situation sounded, you should have had more of the upper-hand with stopping her. I don't need to know anything, you can leave here and keep it to yourself, but is there something about this with Cynthia that I should know?" Abi was starting to head out of the casino when something felt off. She couldn't explain exactly what it was, but she didn't like it. It put her off in a way that killed what little of a good mood she still had left. Abi felt like she was being followed. Abi found herself walking faster and looking over her shoulder more often. When she got outside she unwrapped Buttercup's leash and she mumbled, "Alright Buttercup we're heading home, come on girl." "Can we run?!" "Absolutely." Abi felt Buttercup begin the run first, and Abi followed obediently almost as if she was the dog and Buttercup were the owner. But after they crossed the road, Abi felt the need to run faster, and started to run at almost the same speed as Buttercup.
He wasn't sure if he had even been in the room for 15 minutes before he started hearing commotion. He took his time since it just seemed to me consisting of yelling, but he started to hear something else that made him get up out of his chair and head for the door. When he left the room and went to turn the corner, all he heard was, "I am not afraid to kill you like I did mom. I have had enough." Joshua made it around the corner just in time to see Jason pinning Cynthia down and punching her until Cynthia was still. He heard him mumble an apology before standing up, Joshua let out a sigh and began to approach the situation, letting out in a monotonous voice, "Do I even want to know why I just witnessed the second in command pummel his daughter to the ground?" He fixed his hair and continued, "Inside incidents... not fun. Do I need to get Benjamin, or would you care to explain? Unless of course Benjamin heard that too, it wasn't exactly quiet."
Abi's running eventually tired out once she reached a couple blocks over. She wasn't quite sure what she wanted to do today. Buttercup would be happy with whatever, she just liked getting out of the yard. As Abi walked past a building, she heard a can get kicked and she turned her head out of curiosity. At a corner was a man wearing a cap and a hood, and he turned his head the second they made eye contact. Abi smiled and waved at the figure saying, "Hello!" Although she wasn't a human person, these people were around every day and she always said hello to them, and they always nodded back. That was probably the only interaction she had. Though sometimes she noticed they would be at some of the same places she went. She just thought it was a cool coincidence. Abi decided at that moment she wanted to go to Mandalay Bay... obviously not for the casino portion. She wanted to see the sea creatures, which she had idle conversations with. Usually it was only one at a time though. She'd also have to leave Buttercup outside, who wouldn't be too fond of that. After a long walk, perhaps a half hour or so, she finally made it to the casino. She tied Buttercup outside, who fortunately had no complaints. Then she went inside and made her way to the aquarium. It was beautiful every time she went there. The aquarium was pretty much a glass tunnel through the water, with the sea life swimming around from all directions. Abi was blissfully unaware of the crowd as she heard the gibbering between the manta rays and some of the sharks. The first animal she encountered was a great white shark, which looked right at her and she smiled at it as she sent a message to it telepathically, "Hello!" "Oh hey, it's the head talking girl again. Hey there." the shark swam a little closer to the tank glass and responded back, "Needed something interesting to happen today... it's just the same picture taking, people gawking, me scaring a couple of the little children... it's nice for you to show up and change the formula." One of the other sharks swam over and the two sharks began talking, "Who're you talking to?" "It's the human that talks without moving her mouth." "Eyyyy." Abi kept talking to the sharks with her telepathy and they followed her as she walked. She kept going with a conversation and more voices began to join in. She began to see more flashing but she didn't pay much attention. She spoke for a good half hour and realized her conversation wasn't with two sharks anymore. Then the flashes started to make sense. There were maybe 10 sharks staring at her in the same area. Abi began to freak out, she had stopped paying attention to maintaining a low profile. She let out a small laugh and looked at one of the photographers, "Weird right? I just... I was so amazed I couldn't stop staring." The sharks waited a bit before they began to disband. Abi realized it was time for her to go. She started to make her way out of the aquarium quickly to go and get Buttercup.
Joshua was called in. He didn't actually think of it as a bad thing, in fact, he was a little happy to get back into the office. It was his wife who wasn't fond of it. Joshua was packing up his work bag and he knew he was being followed everywhere he walked. Finally when he was about to leave he heard a soft, high pitched voice speak, "Josh..." He let out a small sigh and adjusted his glasses, turning towards his wife. She was tiny, and she looked young too. But she was forty, and her blonde hair was cut in a way that made her look even younger. He smiled slightly and responded, "It's okay Nadia, you have a month." Nadia placed her hand on her stomach, which held a very large baby bump. She looked away from him pained and spoke, "It's not that, I thought you were on vacation... you work too hard..." Joshua leaned towards her and kissed her on the forehead and smiled, "I'm fine, I promise. I'll try and come home in time for dinner. Just make sure she doesn't stress you out too much." Joshua then opened the door and left, heading for the driveway. His smile quickly faded to a straight face as he entered his car and pulled out all the papers he had faxed over. Again, the children were causing problems. Really, there was nothing as beautiful as reading the full reports on how two blood-thirsty assassins were messing things up. Reports, paperwork, deaths, images to keep up. As far as his wife knew it was just the image to keep up. If the media ever once released information that could be directly linked to Raven Sun it sure as hell wasn't when he was in charge of this position. He didn't want to hate kids, but if he had to see the name Cynthia Enger one more time on his paperwork he was going to go in and kill the girl himself. Except for the fact he couldn't actually kill her without Jason killing him. He didn't want to have problems with this girl, and he knew she sure as hell didn't have a singular opinion about him, but he wondered if maybe he told her about the hell it was to clean up her messes maybe she'd stop being so reckless. He started laughing out loud as he drove the car at that thought. When could you ever get someone so blood-hungry to care about the paperwork guy. Either way, this needed to stop. Cynthia Engel and Tobias Greipr were both on a mission together (how that was allowed he didn't know) to go after the "Silent Killer" (how THAT passed Benjamin okay he REALLY didn't know) and so far they were sloppy. Really sloppy. So sloppy in fact he was called off of his vacation to come in and deal with it. Joshua, just face it. As much as you may not like it, if someone came after her you would be just as upset and pissed off. Let's just try and deal with this as elegantly as possible, and hope to god no knives are thrown at you again for daring to criticize her sloppiness when she "gets the job done" When Joshua finally arrived, he immediately went straight for his room to fill out more papers. Abi had a tennis racket and a tennis ball in her hand, she was sitting outside of the house and hitting the tennis ball into a brick wall. Every time it hit it would make a pop noise and Buttercup would run to get it. Then it would bounce back, then the cycle would continue with Buttercup never getting the ball. "Come on Abi, it isn't fair! I just wanna catch it." "Bored." Abi hit the ball harder and laid down on the grass, managing to keep hitting the ball, "Bored." "Abi! Please?!" Abi hit it harder and it bounced off and flew higher than she intended and went further into the yard. Buttercup ran after it panting and caught the ball before it bounced. "I got it! I got it! I got it!" the dog marched over in victory and dropped the ball on Abi's lap, "Again!" "No." Abi sat up and looked over at the fence and mumbled so only Buttercup could hear her, "I'm going out." "Take me!" "No." "Take me take me take me take me take me." "No." "I will bark, mom will know, and then she'll tell dad. Then you can have fun with that." "You wouldn't." Buttercup let out a small bark and Abi hushed her, "Fine, fine! Gosh." she looked into the kitchen window and saw her mother watching t.v. and doing a crossword puzzle. She would be busy for a while. Abi grabbed Buttercup and let out a grunt as she pulled up the heavy dog and placed it on her shoulders. She then climbed over the fence and laid down on the sidewalk letting out heavy breaths. Buttercup nudged her with her nose and Abi sat up quickly and ran over to a bush. She grabbed a hidden leash (which she learned to hide when she was caught by a policeman with an unleashed dog and was sent home to angry parents) and put it on Buttercup and whispered excitedly, "Okay let's go!" and she began running, with Buttercup running with her.
