I'd still buy it.
Well, in the actual comics, Peter Quill is only half-human. The name Star-Lord comes from his alien heritage, the Spartax. I didn't consider the possibility before, but maybe Skye is similar to him? I still doubt it, though, as the Spartax appear human (they could change it for the movie and make them appear monstrous, but that would be difficult because Star-Lord obviously appears fully human, unless they get rid of his half-alien heritage).
http://jl8comic.tumblr.com/archive Go to the Month section and start at the earliest one (November 2011). There's 173 current "issues." This is...
Which is what I was thinking. Regardless, it just messed with my suspension of disbelief a bit because I was so nervous. Even my roommates asked what I was freaking out about because I legitimately said "Oh, no no no. Not FitzSimmons. Not them, please, no-THAT'S HOW HIGH THE PLANE WAS?" Well, Marvel is wanting to do an Inhuman movie and the Inhumans are getting a little push in the comics right now, especially after Marvel's Inhumanity event (tons of Inhumans awakened on Earth) so it wouldn't surprise me at all if Skye was one of them. Especially considering the "monsters" remark about their parents, it would make sense. I doubt Ms. Marvel or Spider-Woman simply because I really doubt they would take an existing character with so much comic book history (even if they're not generally known) and change it to an existing character...unless Skye finds out her real name is Carol Danvers, Jessica Drew, or Julia Carpenter. Now that I think about it, finding out one of those is her real name isn't that far-fetched, but I still think the Inhuman theory is the most plausible. Another theory I heard is that Skye is secretly a Kree, same as what the blue alien that they got GH-### from (not to mention, Krees were namedropped by Lady Sif in the next episode). Half-Kree would make sense, I think; keeps her powers dormant but allows the GH serum to more easily rejuvenate her without any side effects.
Fantastic Four and Avengers do not exist in the same universe so that has nothing to do with it. Ryan Reynolds played Deadpool in Origins: Wolverine and Hannibal King in Blade Trinity, both Marvel comics characters because those versions don't exist in each other's universe. Nor does Jon Favreau's Foggy Nelson from Daredevil exist in the same universe as Jon's Happy Hogan in Iron Man.
Sam stammered at the white-haired boy's remarks, but then swallowed and shut up. Grunting quietly, he agreed and followed the other student. In the back of his mind, Jaggerjack was getting a little too graphic with, how in his time, "swinging that way" was done not just ceremonially and celebratory, but something considered sacred. Shaking the images out of his head, Sam simply turned his head as he walked and narrowed his red eyes at the student watching them.
I could have sworn that I already accepted you! Sorry! You're definitely in. Everyone, we've officially started. I should note that I would like everyone to either be in Neostice or nearby it.
As Sky walked down the dark hallway, he gripped his bow tight in his left hand and kept his right hand in a fist. He could see the light at the end, though it was a bit dim. As he walked through the doorway, his eyes narrowed at the light; he was now outside, standing on top of the wall that guarded the city of Neostice. It was sunset, but there was still a little bit of sun out, casting a pinkish hue over what scenery wasn't already covered in shadow. Sky walked towards a duo of men perched on the edge. The sound his boots made against the stone of the wall relaxed him, as did the sounds of the owls waking up. As he neared the two men, they noticed him, giving him a nod of acknowledgement. Each men had a long gun in their hands -sniper rifles- and Sky noticed that one looked like it was releasing a faint amount of smoke at the barrel. Sky nodded back as he joined and peeked over the edge. There, about 75 feet down, was a small group of Zombies, futilely clawing at the fence that covered the bottom half of the wall. Despite the approaching dark, Sky could easily make out one of the Zombies behind the others, lying lifeless on the ground. "Jake, Adam. I'm guessing that's your doing down there, Jake?" He asked the man with the smoking rifle, gesturing his head towards the ground. I, Slayer Thrawp! The axe came down hard, decapitating the Zombie. The figure gripped the metallic handle of the axe as more blood spattered on his face. Not moving, his eyes shifted to the rolling head before it stopped, locked eyes with him, and opened its mouth. The Zombie-less head gurgled as blood continued to pour out. After a guttural growl, the Zombie's head ceased all movement and the unlife disappeared from its eyes, leaving Lucas Bennett in a staring contest with two empty, white spaces. Swinging the axe backwards, the hunter of the undead noted how the Zombie retained some movement after decapitation, where usually it would have died...well, died again instantly after being decapitated. . "UGH!! Stupid, stupid Bennett," he groaned, letting the axe's handle retract to a smaller size and looking at the bite mark on his shoulder. He had baited the Zombies purposefully, but let his guard down long enough for one to clamp its jaw tight on his shoulder. Bennett could easily make out the teeth marks, despite the blood. The bite was deep and he could feel the virus unsuccessfully trying to infect his body. As he walked towards the nearby river, his eyes glanced over the green amulet hanging on a nearby branch. Before he reached the river's edge, Bennett realized that the bite mark was not only already healing, as it should be, but smoking, albeit slightly. "Well...that's new."
Well, even though he originated in the DC Universe in a Swamp Thing issue (did you know Swamp Thing was originally a comic book character?), he became famous under the Vertigo imprint of DC, a separate, edgier universe. However, he was recently moved into the main DC Universe for the New 52, leading the Justice League Dark, a team of occult-based characters (Frankenstein's Monster; Black Orchid, a shapeshifter; Madame Xanadu, a clairvoyant; Zatanna, a magician with backwards-speak magic; Deadman, a ghost who can possess people; Nurse Nightmare, the Greek Goddess of healing; Swamp Thing; and a few other characters here and there) and no, they didn't pick the name of their team. Guillermo del Toro is also planning a movie about the Justice League Dark, tentatively titled Dark Universe. He's stated that he would love if he can correlate it to the DC Cinematic Universe, given the opportunity, and that there's still a chance it might exist in the same universe as the show.
I think it's funny, though, that everyone assumed that Johnny would be the adopted one until they cast a black actor as their dad. I will give this to the original movies: I really liked the casting. I'm glad they're younger, but now they seem...a little too young.
So it's a reboot of the series. Not much is known yet save for cast and crew. Miles Teller as Mr. Fantastic Kate Mara as Invisible Woman Michael B. Jordan as Human Torch Jamie Bell as Thing Toby Kebbell as Doctor Doom Reg E. Cathey as Dr. Franklin Storm So far, the movie has gotten some slack for the racially different casting of Human Torch and Invisible Woman, but the studio has yet to confirm if they're from a biracial family, step-siblings, or if one of them is adopted. Besides that reaction, there hasn't been much news on the film. I'm glad it's getting rebooted~
Trailer is officially out. I'll be honest, I read a review about a leaked script for the pilot and I wasn't impressed by the writing at all. Supposedly, it was mentioned that Oswald Cobblepot looks like a penguin EVERY SINGLE TIME HE'S MENTIONED, Poison's Ivy name has been changed from "Pamela Isley" to literally, "Ivy"(though I forgot her last name), a comedian at a comedy club with horrible jokes but one true fan being the criminal overlord played by Jada Pinkett-Smith (who also happens to be the ex of Gordon's fiance and thusly called **** by Bullock several times). Regardless, the trailer looks really good. Interesting that they covered up the killer's mask (I'm assuming it's still going to be Joe Chill); I'm assuming he's going to have some huge overarching role in the series. Also, the guy who's playing Bullock had an interview that made me really interested due to the way he worded the city itself. The show isn't about Batman, it's about Gotham. It's not showing how Gotham needs Batman, it's about showing how Gotham got to such a place that it needed Batman and why it needs him.
Pretty sure the discussion for this ended up in the wrong thread BUT DID ANYBODY SEE THAT LAST EPISODE? Spoiler I was so scared for Fitz-Simmons, but then realized how low the plane was. Is it safe to fly a plane that low to begin with? Also, the show has been picked up for a second season. I'm still betting that Skye is an Inhuman (especially since there is an Inhuman movie in the works. Branch off the movie franchise to make a show then branch of the show to make a movie; Clever Marvel). Can't wait to see Spoiler Nick Fury in the finale episode.
I think it's really cool that they're doing a legitimate reboot of the series (SINCE I HAD THIS IDEA YEARS AGO). I'm not sure if it's been confirmed if it'll be adapted from Mighty Morphin or be a complete reboot and a loose adaptation on the whole series concept, but I'm pretty sure that it's the former. Is anybody else hoping for a Tommy Oliver cameo? Especially considered the failed season (Hexagon: http://powerrangers.wikia.com/wiki/Hexagon) I could kind of see a series based on the original Mighty Morphin' plot. First movie has Rita with Zedd as a former leader, Green Ranger introduced in the second as a villain who redeems himself at the end before joining as the White Ranger in a third movie. If they throw in the Alien Rangers from Aquitar, that's a spinoff.
Just wanting to state that the show as officially been picked up. Also, did anyone thing that Barry was the one calling Felicity at the end of Arrow's "City of Blood" episode?
Based on the DC Comic's Vertigo imprint, iZombie will star Rose McIver as Olivia "Liv" Moore (lol what a pun), as a med student who gets turned into a zombie. She gets a job as a coroner to have access to the brains she craves, but gains the memories of the deceased upon consumption. She uses this ability as a way to aid the detective/police department. Robert Buckley will play Major, her "former fiance who is trying to transition back to being her friend despite still being in love with her and a former college player-turned-environmental engineer who is extremely likeable." The series has officially been picked up for the 2014-2015 season.
For those who remember the Keanu Reeves movie, Constantine is a "working-class magician, occult detective, and con man stationed in London. He is known for his endless cynicism, deadpan snarking, ruthless cunning, and constant chain smoking, but is also a passionate humanist driven by a heartfelt desire to do some good in his life." He's visually based on the musical artist Sting (and for fans of Supernatural, Castiel's trenchcoat is a nod to Constantine). His titular series was Hellblazer, but was replaced by Consantine for DC's New 52. NBC has a live-action series in development with David S. Goyer writing and executive producing it. Welsh actor Matt Ryan is cast as Constantine with the villain being Papa Midnite. Lucy Griffiths will play Liv. Harold Perrineau as Manny. Charles Halford as Chas. The series is planned on being much closer to the source material than the movie. It has also been officially picked up by NBC.
It made my day when I saw this on my news feed. I wish it was longer, though. All we need is the scene with Merlyn and Thea with Vader's voice...
I can't tell if it's saying "You want some of this, ***** *****?" or "You want some of this *****, *****?"
I thought this, too, but I thought I was just high.
