We're having a peaceful counter-protest against Phelps. As long as he doesn't get a rise out of us with his bullshit, then he won't win. We're going to try. Trust me, I don't want him setting foot on my Alma Mater, but life throws these things at you and I'm going to defend my school and my theater department. It was pretty much my second home. That department shaped me as a person. I'll protect the hell out of it. I feel nothing but disgust for him and his family. I just find that they are all horrible people who had the wrong kind of upbringing. I'm sure only 71 people will show at his funeral. If that. And they'll all be his church-goers. But good luck finding a cemetery and funeral home that'll host that for him. Mutilate him. That's what we need to do. He's an old fart that can't be reasoned with. He'll die eventually, and the country will have a huge sigh of relief. We just have to wait for his entire family to die out, which won't happen in most of our lifetimes. This statement was taken from his site. He's appearing at my high school on October 23rd. I'm going to try and take part in a counter-protest against Phelps. It's being student run. Anyone have thoughts on this? Personally, I saw this coming when they announced they were doing Rent, but I still want the show to go on. My school put a lot of thought and effort into just being able to put this show on and has done numerous community outreach services to spread awareness of homosexuality and the hardships they face.
