My first Pokemon game was Gold, and I never really got to play gen 1 until FireRed came out. While I loved playing it when I was like four (it's actually one of the first games I consciously remember playing), the level grinding has just become too tedious for me nowadays, which is a real shame because the battles themselves are always fun as hell. Thinking back, Kanto really wasn't as fun to explore as Johto, but I will say that the Mew/Mewtwo lore has always been some of the coolest to me (First and Third movies are tied for my favorites).
