Not really. I started on FFXII and I love it. The things people say bad about it don't register with my brain because it was the first one I played. To tell you the truth, I used to hate Final Fantasy games because there were so many. I thought that you had to play them in order to understand it. Then one day while watching X-Play, I saw them review FFXII and I was like "I want it."
What spoiler did your friend tell you about Naruto? From what I know (alot) there is only one big spoiler. I was confused at the start of the newest arc because I forgot to read the chapter before it. I like it.
