I think that if you're considering reading them, you might as well. It'll only take like, a weekend (if that) because they're such easy reads. Personally, I liked them. The world that the author creates is pretty interesting. My only gripe is that the last book is a bit of a let down, so I'm looking forward to see how the movies interpret it. So far, the movies have been good, with the sequel being probably better than the first, which bodes well for what is to come.
