I don't know if you're surprised that I didn't like The Dark Knight Rises or distraught that my poster broke.
    ...but yeah.
I lied to get the Bane poster, though <<

I had this poster and it ripped last time I moved. I was devastated. Now I only have TDKR's Bane and I don't even like that movie.

I know and I understand all that fully. My point is simply that I couldn't do it for the reasons that Patman, Incognitus, and C have said. I understand that each relationship and each person is different so the standards should definitely be communicated. I'm just saying that I don't think it's fair that the non-asexual has to give up sex for as long as they're with an asexual who is completely against the idea of having it. Just like Princess<3 said, doing them a favor because you love them is what I see is being asked of the non-asexual, but the no-sex thing for them is permanent as opposed to a sexual favor from the asexual occasionally. Now, granted, as Patman said, I personally wouldn't be satisfied knowing that my partner isn't enjoying it or might not even want it (hell, I don't think my girlfriend fully enjoys it!). That said, being in a committed relationship as two fully heterosexual persons, one of which definitely with a bigger sex drive than the other (but both with at the least, an "average" sex drive), there have been times in my relationship where either I or my girlfriend wasn't entirely in the mood, but the other was. There's a compromise there.
My issue with the situation with an asexual is the lack of a sex drive, hence why I'm iffy on whether or not it's similar to rape. It's one thing for my girlfriend to talk me into sex after work when I'm tired and I give in, it's another thing if I had no desire to have sex ever and I was coerced into it.

I understand that. I'm talking about a situation as described in the opening post where, from what I read, she is just not interested in sex at all.
I mean, if the asexual truly loves the person, then why couldn't they "take one for the team" every now and then as opposed to the sexual SO...um...well, NEVER taking one for the team ever?
And then if the asexual is "taking one for the team," then is that really fair to either one of them? I view it as a kind of rape if the asexual isn't just not enjoying, but really just doesn't want it and only doing it because their partner wants it. So...should the significant other be allowed to have sex with other people if it's for no other reason than the physical release a sexual person needs? If the asexual really doesn't see sex as important at all, then why is that an issue? Then there's the threat that if the asexual does let their partner sleep around, that they might be left for someone else. It's...complicated, more so than I thought when I first viewed this thread.

The problem with this is that different people view sex differently. You can have sex with someone and have no romantic or emotional connection and it wouldn't mean anything aside from that physical release. I mean, yeah, you could masturbate, but if sex is automatically cheating just because its sex (Disclaimer: I think it is, but this is referencing "special" relationships, like the one in the OP), I've always thought that masturbation could be considered an insult to the relationship as well. I've heard several people say that you shouldn't masturbate while in a relationship because you have someone to get you off and the SO sees it as an insult?

    This.

    THISTHISTHIS.
    And of course, this.

    I agree with this, too.
I mean, if an asexual sees sex as unnecessary and doesn't want anything to do with it (assuming that's where they land on the spectrum), but want to date a non-asexual, why does the latter have to be the one to make the compromise? Now I'm not saying the non-asexual should have free reign to go do whatever they want, with who they want, when they want, and how they want, but...it seems selfish on one end to say "I'm never having sex with you. If I do, I won't enjoy it and don't really want it (rape?), and you have to be okay with that and be sexually faithful to me as well."

    ...MAYBE HE SHOULD.

Eh, honestly I can't give an actual opinion because I haven't watched...anything, I don't think, with Jaden in it.
I don't like the casting, based on what I hear about his acting, but I don't think that's fair to him.
...Regardless, I don't like the choice. Is it official, though? I mean, I've heard rumors of it, but I've yet to hear anything official. Hell, last I heard, Static was going to be a live-action web series. It wouldn't be the first time an actor heard a rumor about another actor's role and passed it off as real by accident. It is possible that Williams either meant the idea of it and the websites misunderstood or that he genuinely thinks Smith is getting the role based on what he's heard.
...I really hope he was just misunderstood.

Though I do like the idea of him as Spider-Man.

EDIT: Lol I love how he's still called "Static Shock"

Whoops. That's the complete opposite of what I meant lol. Since you were talking about live-action, I meant "everything else on live-action" (which is why I didn't count Smallville Season 11). Which for Marvel...isn't really much, hence why I was disagreeing with the comparison.

Me, neither. But good and successful don't always go hand-in-hand. My point is that Marvel hasn't won the live-action competition in film or TV because it isn't a competition yet. The number of properties that both companies have in either category aren't close enough to think of them competing, in my opinion.
Not saying that Marvel wouldn't win quality-wise (in a scenario where DC and Marvel has the same amount of properties and each with the quality of their current properties, then yeah, Marvel wins [film-wise, in my opinion]), just that by the time that DC catches up to -what- 11 films, who knows where the creative direction would be, improving or worsening their films. And when they have that many, Marvel will probably have 26 and be in the same scenario. I just think that especially with the headstart Marvel had, you can't compare the two companies.

Now, if it was up to me, I would have kept Green Lantern and spun the DC Cinematic Universe from that film. Sure, it wasn't a great film at all (I mean, I liked it but...ugh), but even Marvel doesn't have a perfect track record. I think DC should have just cut their losses and started then.
Hell, if it was up to me, I would have turned this into a trilogy of movies

The idea of it, not the combining the actual shows/films

    Or a more current one:

I like fan trailers. Like, really like them.

Well...yeah? You're right although "trash" seems to be a bit of an exaggeration, but are you talking about television or just all live-action? Your previous post said television and that's what I was responding, too. Marvel has Agents of SHIELD as it's only ongoing show and then one Netflix show and one mini-series under its belt. It seems weird to compare that to Arrow and Flash, two ongoing shows. Especially since DC has Smallville under its belt, which despite its issues still ran for ten whole years (not counting Season 11 obviously).
And then with the movies, Marvel has...what, 11 movies out in the MCU currently and DC has one. I don't know, it just seems like comparing apples to oranges. DC has had a lot more luck on the small screen than Marvel even if all their shows haven't all been great, but it's still a better track record than Marvel's, I'd say.

Yep. The story was meant, from what I remember, to make the comics resemble the movie.
I prefer the "Other" thing (but only because I want Kaine to have that).

Secret Wars: Renew Your Vows. If you haven't heard of it, it's a Secret Wars tie-in with the...timeline being that One More Day never happened.

Brian Michael Bendis is <3. I don't care what anybody says.
His work definitely had a big influence on the movies; though he denies being fully aware at the time of production of that fact.
In fact, I read somewhere that he was the deciding vote on mechanical web-shooters vs organic (why is that even a question). Apparently, he was something of a consultant (nothing official, just wanted his opinion on things) and they called him to ask him about the webshooters and without hesitating, he said mechanical and half the room was like "GODDAMN IT." Apparently, he didn't realize it was because he had been the deciding vote.
