Base heard Krowley summon him to act. "Mystic at the ready." Not long after saying so, he dodged a barrage of spitted seeds being fired at him. He then acted as gardener by uprooting the planted heartless, finishing two off with Blizzard spells. "Anyone needs a Cure, be sure to ask!" He bit back his own pain from being bitten by one of the Heartless flowers. He swept the last three flowers in one quick blow, followed quickly by a lunge at the belly of a Large Body. Not surprisingly, to those more experienced with the obese beast, he was knocked several meters back headlong as his keyblade was useless against the monster's front. "Thunder!" He cried, and a quick burst of lightning took out not only the Large Body, but also killed off a few nearby shadows. "Any possible reasons why I was knocked away from that thing when I tried to hit it?" So far, Base had encountered Large Bodies, but when he had been he was always viciously outnumbered to the point he couldn't take on his foes alone; he always had to run from the masses. That was then, and this was in the now. No more running, but as a tactician, he always wanted to be two steps ahead of the special enemies that required a special strategy to take down. He looked around and shook his head as he went after a cluster of Shadows with melee attacks. He shook his head as he knew there were originally more Large Bodies than what remained, but he had failed to pay attention to how those ones were dealt with by the others. At least the Killer Plants were easy to figure out; the strategy with them, he found, was that they appeared rooted in the ground, and that’s where they fired their seed artillery bursts from. Once they were uprooted, they were momentarily dazed, but they would start biting since the fighter was close enough to its spiky jaws bonneted with yellow petals.

“Krowley, look out!” Base jumped in between his armoured comrade as a seed was fired at Krowley’s back. Base deflected the shot with a single, well-timed blow from his Keyblade, but he was immediately on his feet to strike down the perpetrator that was now turned to fire at the Mad Hatter. “These are the things that upset me!” He mimicked the Hatter’s odd voice as he brought his full power down upon the petalled head and forced it back into darkness.

Base was perplexed. Not only to the reasoning of why Periwinkle was somehow a more "manly" color than Pink, but also by the musicality of their strange hosts. He sat in a big satin Victorian chair with swirls in its fine pink cloth; and dark elm wood for its chassis. Curiosity got the best of him, of course, and so he tried to conduct the Tea Set whistlers with a surprising effect: they followed his command and he added a quaint syncopation to the silly song they were whistling. When he was thoroughly satisfied with his musical feat, he continued to conduct as he asked the March Hare. He took advantage of the fact the Hare's back was turned, and asked in a keen imitation of the Mad Hatter's voice. "Pardon my asking, but what exactly is an Un-Birthday; I seem to have forgotten." Of course, he did not want to come across as stupid or out-of-the-loop. "You know, this really is the best butter." He then said quickly and casually in his own voice to detract from his previous deceptive question. He laced his toast with the gooey hot butter and dunked it in his cup of tea. Upon further inspection of the cup, he noticed it had a crack... or rather a chip... on one side, and the most curious thing about this particular cup, with its white body and golden trim, was that it looked like it had large blue eyes painted on the sides. He continued to drink from it with poise and grace; sticking his pinky finger out. "A very Merry Un-Birthday to you." He murmured while taking a sip.

I'll do parts for Yao. As well as the part that goes "You're a spineless pale, pathetic lot, and you haven't got a clue, somehow I'll... make a man,... out of you..." It's gotten harder to record at College.

Base chortled in his throat as her removed his mustache nonchalantly. "Oh Chesire puss. Quite a mad one aren't you? Well, you see: I live in music; I'm hanging by a thread as far as any ordinary sanity is concerned." Base followed the path of freshly made Chesire Cat prints as they separated in ways that would be physically impossible. "We want to find a White Rabbit, but I suppose you won't be of much use in telling us where to find him; so, it seems only logical to ask you where we can't find him, as this will either tell us exactly where he is, or tell us exactly where he is not, depending on whether or not anything you say can be given value of any sort." He waxed eloquent as he swung onto a low-hanging tree branch of a very wonky, purple tree with pink branches. "You see, I keep to myself quite a bit, but you all may have noticed that I'm not all quite there myself, but I am held together by something that grows curiouser and curiouser, most curiousest indeed, as time goes on. "I'm as mad as a hatter when I listen to any particular piece that I find enduring enough to really provoke the mind, and it sets my heart into motion that is more erratic than any hare in the month of March could dare to immitate. Music is my madness, dear Chesire puss, and I'd like to know if you'd join me in a song, if you can be of no other use." He reclined on his back and balanced himself out of the branch, resting his head in his hands.

"Twas Brillig, and the Slithy Toves did gire and gimble in the wabe; All mimsy were Borogroves, and the Momeraths outgrabe..." He sang complete nonsense that seemed to feel right. I was as though something about the location was settling in him a musical sensitivity to the workings of the world that dealt in song and notes. He'd noticed a similar feeling on his home world of Theate, and had felt a very different embodiment of the same notion in everywhere else he'd been. On the other hand, nowhere had been quite as strange, overpowering, and odd as...here... wherever here was. He'd listened to Alice as well, and, like Krowley, suspected there was a reality Alice was used to, and this was not it.

"Beuce, Luna, Krowley, Alice..." His tone went dark and took on a fierce, Scottish brogue. "Beware the Jobberwock..." All utter and complete nonsense. He had nothing to go on with this warning, but it was what he felt in the crisp wooden air that surrounded him and permeated his very being. "Eyes that snare and teeth that snatch... beware the Jub Jub bird, and the frumious Bandersnatch." He hummed more of the melody his had sung before, but in his regular register. "You know how I know you were a Chesire cat? I've seen them quite often where I come from, but never before had I seen one smile as broadly... in fact... not really at all. A singular feline you are, my paradoxical friend." He said this to the empty air, as he assumed the cat still lingered somewhere.

Following Beuce's rather dramatic evincing of the footprints, Base shook his head and followed in suit. No, quite literally: he followed in a Victorian age suit. He had grown a moustache or merely placed a false one upon his lip and donned a bowler hat. In his opinion, there should always be balance, after all, what is Sherlock without a Watson? Granted, that's the same age of story-telling as Lewis Carroll's, but Carroll came a bit earlier than Doyle and his Detective, but oh well, Base followed as Watson anyway. "Quite frankly, Beuce, it's not only women who have had the urge to strangle the daylights out of you." Base prodded at his comrade from Pachyderm Parade, as he too followed the trail to the White Rabbit.

Base, in the face of abstract, could nothing better than to suggest the illogical. "I know what, the rabbit said." That was another thing: the talking part hadn't startled him as much as the waistcoat and Livingston. He was quite sure he had never seen a rabbit with a waistcoat poet, nor a pocketwatch to take out from one. "The food here has odd properties, so food may be what has unsettled this person." He indicated towards the house. "It may also be what may settle or resettle this person, if we are to believe this is a person at all; as opposed to it being a monster of any kind." His eyes went over to the garden. "For starters, I say we try the carrots."

It was not long before Base returned to the group with green-stemmed, crispy carrots in hand. "Worst case scenario, we send a lizard down the chimney." Unfortunately, Base didn't know why he said such a ridiculous thing, just that it seemed to fit.

I try to keep my works in progress very limited or else I drop a project and never pick it back up. On kh-vids alone, I have two works-in-progress, which I will include links to. In fact, the titles and banners for both (As of August 20th, 2013-?) can be found in my Avatar. There is one finished work of mine; also on the site.

    Based Forward

This is my first story back with kh-vids. It is inspired by Krowley's "KHSOS" roleplay and features my own character Base before he joins in on the events depicted in the roleplay itself. Interesting to note: this story of mine inspired some of the other users participating in KHSOS to write backstories for their own characters. To date, Steel and Luna have added their backstories to the Writer's Nook. This story follows a young man born in a city atmosphere as he becomes the apprentice of Yen Sid, goes on missions to worlds that I won't even hint at yet, but I will give a full description later on or if asked. For this story as well as others, I write it as though the reader will have no idea what the world looks like nor how the characters that are from the source material act. I am descriptive in what most take for granted thinking the reader will know anyway. If you like Kingdom Hearts, magic, music, and epics, then I would like to hear your feedback on "Based Forward". I had a recording on audio of me reading the chapters aloud, but YouTube deleted them for some reason; I plan to redo these audio recordings with some tweaking to ensure the same mistake does not occur again.

    Burns

A Pokemon story that takes place decades before Red and Blue set off on their adventures. To give an idea, Professor Oak is in his early thirties and Kanto is a bit different. It takes place entirely in the Kanto region, with special focus on the Cinnabar islands. It follows the story of a young man named Caesar Cyprus as he is sent to Cinnabar island as one of young Professor Oak's aides. This story is a blend of the games from Generations I and III as well as elements of the Anime; more so leaning towards the physics of the games. It delves deep into Pokemon philosophy and it will go on to make readers cry as well as laugh (I hope).

Play Ball!: A Day in the 100 Acre Woods

This is a completed story. It's based off of two things: 1.) The tediously challenging "Pooh's Baseball Derby" online game. 2.) This game's inclusion in the aforementioned "KHSOS" roleplay. It takes place in the 100 Acre Woods, obviously, just before the game starts. I designed the story so an older, more advanced reader could read it to entertain a younger child. Not that I dislike children's stories that are formulated to the reading levels of younger readers, but I really do love the more classic approach of the older "Winnie the Pooh" stories and other such bedtime stories as "Alice in Wonderland" that an adult would have no trouble reading, and a child (both in shape and at heart) would have difficulty imagining when read to. As suggested, some of the words in the story are somewhat verbose, but I find this really helps in extending the vocabulary of the listeners; and occasionally the reader as well. If coaxed, I will continue this story; but if not, it will remain as is until "Based Forward" and/or Burns" are/is complete.

Family Member/Title : The Thespian Caprice

Title Explanation: A Caprice is a piece of music that changes very suddenly and often throughout it. I'm an actor. Thespian Caprice.

Personality : I'm very paradoxical. My mood varies on a much wider spectrum than I find many other people do. I'm mature but not grown up. I adore everything Disney. Literary influences include, but are not limited to: Edgar Allen Poe, Aldous Huxley (Brave New World), Andrew Marlowe (He writes for the ABC TV show "Castle" and is its creator), Jon Scieszka (Time Warp trio), Lewis Carroll (Alice in Wonderland), and William Shakespeare. Users of the past who influenced my work: Shades/Destined and Destiny's Force.

Literary Arts Specialty : Characterization, settings, dialogue, and when I write a fanfiction, I really aim to make the characters I'm using to be as close to the originals as possible. I am told I do quite well at these things.

Anything else you'd like to share? : I'm going into college very soon, but in order to keep my sanity I plan to keep writing. As an actor as well as a writer, I crave feedback to an almost manic level. If some can be provided, it would be more appreciated than I can fully express in words; I want to know how my work makes people feel.

Base chuckled to himself. "My my, Krowley. You really did give that doorknob a turn. Oh well, one good turn deserves another." He laughed more, and elbowed the armored comrade. Abruptly, Base ceased with his laughter as his mind traced back to earlier. "You know what? I've been doing an awful lot of falling lately. I fell into Pachyderm Parade, and I fell here... wherever this is... and at very different velocities. Why, with all the falling I've been doing lately, I'm very sure I will thinking nothing much of falling down the stairs." His mind did some more tracing; this time more into the future than the past. "If I'll be doing any falling in there, at least there should be some soft leaves or mulch to break my fall. Who will be the first one in?" Base asked as he already stumbled through the open portal and found himself over on the greener, more wooded side.

"Nothing really seems to make sense in this place; it's all nonsense." Base professed to the others when he looked back at the door and saw only forest surrounding the door instead of wall. "Doorknobs talking. I suppose the next thing we should see is a ferret in a waistcoat!" Base thought of the most absurd thing he could think of as the flowers all around him towered like pastoral-bulbed lampposts. All this madness nonetheless made him feel at home; as though this was a world of his own where everything was suited to his own personal paradoxes. He could almost hear music in the air to boot! This Wonderland was an overgrown, odder version of Theate to a T. Thinking of Tea, when thinking of T's, Base very suddenly felt very thirsty. 'I think that will have to wait. I hate Tea, but I really am very thirsty. I'd even drink tea if that's all there was to me.' He looked back to the others. "Well, are you coming or not?"

So I heard the internet likes cats?

Also, for anyone who cares: I got the part as Picasso! : D

In the off chance questions are asked about the cats:

They are not mine. Technically. They live at my biological father's house and are owned by two boys my age who live with him because their mom dates my dad. Shadow is so named obviously because of the blackness, but allegedly also because she is very much a Ninja amongst cats; no easy feat. Souls is so named because she is predominantly ginger, and as I said: the two young men are about my age. xD So they have a very modern teenage view about the correlation of ginger hair/fur to souls. 0_0"

It was not long after this question Base turned. This action served perhaps no greater purpose than that he realized a table, there behind them in the room, and siting there, unassuming, was a tiny bottle. A small little glass glass bottle that Base examined by picking it up and rolling it through his fingers. Why, it was no bigger than his hand! Stoppered, the bottle had a small tag hanging from its tiny little neck. Scrawled in fancy type, as paradoxes abound, were the words "DRINK ME". It occurred to Base this formerly unassuming bottle had become a rather presumptuous bottle indeed to take the pretense he or any of his compatriots would drink even a drop of a liquid they had no clue about. He looked to the others, then back to the bottle.

"I suppose since I found it first, I might as well play Guinea Pig. Just think, Krowley... Luna... this bottle could be the very answer to our current situation. If I were small enough to fit through that door, then I could see what's on the other side. Contrary however, if this bottle were to do the very opposite and that I should grow, well, then that would very counter-productive as if the bottle were to do nothing or something very bad; I wouldn't like to be poisoned, but at the same time, I don't believe I'd enjoy being stuck somewhere either." He let his hand fall to his side and he closed his eyes in pained thought. "I do wish I felt so not affected by this place... I feel like everything about this place is clouding who I am and I'm becoming someone entirely different. Is that possible? To be the same person in one instant and be another in another instant?" He asked to the others just the instant before he took a swig of the bottle in his hand. It popped with a start, and it tasted of sweet tart... no lemonade... grape soda... the taste seemed quite an interchangable and unplacable mystery. Maybe it was just as mysterious as what occurred to him after as he put the bottle back on the table. Before anything else occured, however, Base took a bite of on of the provided cookiees that said "EAT ME" in frosting on its tiny tart face.

"This is a rather fresh pastry, and I mean it's rude," He bit into it and chewed for good taste and measure, "But I suppose it's freshly baked nonetheless too."

In an instant afterwards, Base soon found himself standing on a very different surface and at a much different height. There, on the table where he had found the bottle, he had shrunk to be no more than an apple high from head to toe.

OOC: You don't know how hard it was to not type: Base grabbed the Key resting on the table before shrinking, as he was a very well-read lad. I've seen this movie and I've read this book before.
